Less than a few hours had passed since the first breaking news report. Live coverage continued across dozens of channels watched by billions of sentients - while those just tuning in would be greeted by the rotating logo of GNN flashing across their screen. Seated behind a correspondents desk, a Twi’lek news anchor stared back with a grim expression.

“Good afternoon folks,” She began, a heaviness to her voice that was palpable to trillions. “We are following the absolutely heartbreaking developments coming out of Ithor, where it was previously reported that the Jedi Temple had come under attack by a mysterious figure.” It was still unknown who the apparent Dark Sider was, lacking the iconic armor that the Galaxy had come to fear. But they could come to fear this newest face all the same.

She took in a breath. “It is with heavy hearts that we report.. That the herdship-city hosting the Jedi Temple sustained heavy damage during the ensuing battle, causing the station to plummet to the surface of the planet.” The Twi’lek glanced down to read from the papers in her hands. “Despite efforts by the Ithorian Government and Jedi to evacuate civilians to nearby Tafanda Bay, we can confirm that only a fraction of the populace was able to make it off the station.”

“While GNN cannot - at this time - offer an official list of casualties, the number of lives lost reaches into the thousands.”
She said. “We can also confirm the deaths of Jedi Councilor Kaisa Vanaloa, Jedi Masters Sylphrena and Grimm, Knight Orlan - all who engaged the unknown individual - as well as countless others within the Jedi Temple.”

“The fate of the assailant, however, remains unconfirmed.”

The HoloNet feed briefly flicked towards an aerial view of the surface of Ithor. They would be greeted to the site of the pristine and gorgeous jungles of Ithor engulfed in flames for miles, consuming everything in sight and leaving a trail of thick, black smoke. The remains of the Herdship were embedded into the planetary surface and broken into multiple pieces, each burning like an inferno all their own. “Efforts are currently to locate any survivors of the crash, and to contain the fires currently raging across the jungles of Ithor. Official reports indicate that the blaze is currently 0% contained..”

The feed flicked back to the news anchor. “In a statement from the Supreme Council of Ithor, all travel to the surface - or to any of the orbital Herdships - is restricted to the Jedi Order and all foreign parties until further notice.”

“Our prayers go out to the families of all those lost in this tragic event. We will continue to follow this scene on Ithor, and bring you the latest developments as they occur.”

The official Jedi response was swift following the official breaking of the story. Aboard a Jedi vessel, Hera Albion stood alone in the shot for her live response. It would be broadcasted through any news station that wished to play it and through all official channels on Jedi-controlled worlds. Hera did not take the time to dress in her official council robes, instead, she stood wearing her green armor emblazoned with the symbol of the Order and her simple brown cloak.

Hera was not smiling as the broadcast began, rather, her face held the stoicism of her position. She could not, nor did she attempt to, hide the stains of tears on her face as her milky-green eyes looked into the recording device. "Citizens of the galaxy, evil has been unleashed upon us. We have suffered an attack on the Temple at Ithor, and I am not alone in how much this death and destruction has affected us. This was no coordinated attack as part of any greater conflict, this is simply the destructive path of one individual who will not be satisfied until he has destroyed anyone, innocent or not, who stands in his way."

The galaxy did not know who attacked the Jedi temple, or why, but all powerful Jedi had felt his arrival on Ithor. Hera had never met the monster that tore through her friends and killed her students, but Grandmaster Alex knew who they were dealing with and had shared this knowledge with Hera. There was no point in hiding anything, the galaxy would find out sooner or later. So Hera spoke the truth.

"Darth Raze has returned, and he has heralded his return with the destruction of thousands upon thousands of innocent lives. I am not alone in promising the Jedi Order will do everything in our power to stop him, and we implore the galaxy to come together in this tumultuous time to help us find and stop this Dark Lord." Hera paused for a moment, letting her call to action hang in the moment. So few had the courage to fight back, and she understood why. After all, it was easier to do nothing in the face of evil and hope that 'someone else would take care of it.'

The Jedi had to be that someone.

Hera continued, "I do not blame the reaction of the Supreme Council of Ithor, their kindhearted sheltering of our Order was repaid with destruction from a monster of the past. But I offer the entirety of the Jedi fleet and our allies to help rebuild. I stand aboard a vessel of our fleet at this very moment, headed to the planet to offer aid. We must come together and strengthen each other, lest more planets face the same fate as Ithor. I pray we will be accepted."

At that, she cut the broadcast.

Cyutadakyr couldn't decide what was juicier, the fact that Raze had returned from the dead and single handily taken down the majority of the Jedi Order, or that the fact that the sliver that remained had convinced itself that it could take him still. It would be a shame not to be able to witness the destruction of Ithor firsthand, but by all accounts, it had to have been one hell of a show to spawn this kind of response.

In her mind, it was now Raze 1 - Tempest 0. Perhaps the new Dark Lord would surprise her and come up with a novel way to stamp her authority over the galaxy as Raze had. Perhaps she would fall at his knees. Only time would tell and the pureblood could hardly wait to see the strife unfold.

The images flooded the HoloNet and bathed the backroom of Rache Robotics with light. As usual, whenever the Force users collided with each other the destruction they left in their wake was incomparable. Only a handful of Force users could destroy a planet with nothing but their ability to control some sort of energy that the 'normies' couldn't even see. Kara had been munching on pickled fries, for some reason, when the first report aired and she hadn't stopped chewing all the way through the second one, the Jedi one.

"Darth Raze?" she repeated with a mouth full of fries and had to quickly swallow some of it down in order to make full sentences, "Should we," she hesitated and looked at the woman next to her on the couch. Scratch had been with the Zaa Fenn Crime Family for two decades now. She'd been brought on back when Marissa was still in charge and Preef was still a Vanguard of the Crymorah. She knew what Kara was about to suggest and was already shaking her head. "Tell Preef that Darth Raze is back?" they all knew how sensitive that topic was to the old rodian. He was enjoying his corner of the galaxy that the Galactic Broadcasts only rarely reached. "Kriff no, the old man will have a heart attack." It had been suggested by Preef himself that Darth Andruil had attacked him to protect Darth Raze. Why she thought he needed her protection, and especially why she thought Preef was a threat to the former Dark Lord of the Sith, was unknown to everyone but the rodian himself.

Kara considered that for a moment and then nodded in agreement. "Prolly for the best he doesn't know," she agreed and dropped her hand back into the box of.. back into the empty box. "Hey who ate all my-" her eyes shot an angry look at Scratch and then the weequays, but none were in the position to steal her fries. "-we need to get more." More comfort food, that is, because it had once again been proven that the galaxy was an utterly horrible place to live.
