As the screen came into focus, the GNN newscaster stared at the camera with a solemn look on her face, An image in the corner of the screen showed the image of a building on fire, Coruscanti citizens breaking into the building to loot.

"Good afternoon, we have breaking news from Coruscant," she began as the image panned away to a live feed from the planet, "where a state of emergency has been declared after a sudden rise in public unrest across the planet. What we know right now is that there is general unrest over the possibility of a growing Killik presence on the planet, with reports of joiners in the Chancellor's office spreading their influence across the planet. We go now to GNN reporter Martha Kent-Wayne, who is on the ground on Coruscant."

"Thank you Claire. As you can see," the twi'lek spoke into the camera before gesturing to streets below, "the situation is worsening before our very eyes. There are riots on the streets, mistrust of their fellow citizens making the locals to turn on each other. There are protests against the governments inability to deal with the joiner threat, and opportunists and gangs have started taking advantage of the chaos to begin looting. We are seeing officials move in to subdue the larger gathering, but the Coruscant Constabulary simply does not have the manpower to deal with the sheer size of the planet's population. And while things are not as bad on the higher levels, reports state that the lower levels are in utter chaos."

The feed cut back to the studio. "Thank you Martha, we will return to you shortly as we continue tracking developments on the planet. For those on Coruscant, we ask that you stay indoors, and wait for the situation to calm down. The Coruscant Guard has already been deployed, and we are hearing that Sector Rangers in the district have also been called in to help."

The report went on, showing the spreading chaos on the planet, while at the bottom of the feed the ticker reported news that was not important enough to be covered by the anchors. Including a report about an increase in patient mortality rates across the planet.

OOC: The Force Nexus on Coruscant has been corrupted, which along with the Killik presence on the planet has resulted in a state of emergency on the planet, but this is IC information only known to some within the Empire. As far as the Galaxy is concerned this is a result of joiner presence on the planet.
