“Good evening everyone! I’m Dila Tran reporting live from here on Sullust!” The excitement in the woman’s voice was unmistakable, “You will not believe what just happened! The Jedi have successfully launched an attack on the Sith base here and have effectively removed the planet from Sith control!”

Her face lit up as she looked at the camera. Behind her, there was a lot of commotion as Sullustans were walking back and forth. Lots of debris were being moved around and armored vehicles were traversing in the background.

“It was a brutal fight that began with covert Jedi forces setting up for the entire base to collapse,” She rapidly explained as a Sullustan almost collided against her on his way to help clean up. It was obvious having a reporter here was a nuisance.

“Not only have the Sith lost control of the planet, but a high ranking Sith known as Darth Vyrassu was killed in the attack,” The woman attempted to keep a neutral tone about this, but the glee was obvious in her eyes, “This was an unprecedented event that marks the first successfully outright strike against the Sith in their territory!”

She began to walk as the cameraman followed her, the screen shaky and unfocused as they walked past uneven ground.

“I’m on my way to speak to the man that led the operation!” She said gleefully, walking towards a very tall figure with long hair in the distance that was in deep conversation with a few Sullustans.

Right as the reporter began to say something, the figure cast an almost half glance and immediately strode off in the opposite direction. The reporter turned back to the camera.

“Well, evidently he refuses to speak to the media, but rest assured we will get a few words from one of the several valiant and brave Jedi involved!” She said cheerfully, “This is a day when the galaxy can breathe a little easier. We now know that the Jedi truly are capable of fighting back against the Sith and they are on our side! This planet was made safe again and will now be under the leadership of Phoeya II.”

Though the Holonet clip wasn’t refined and polished due to it being live, the aftermath was clear. Throughout the galaxy billions began to tune in and see a direct strike against the Sith. Something many never thought possible. They saw the Sith lose control of an entire planet. A small flame of hope was ignited where it wasn’t thought possible.

Throughout the galaxy, many watched the feed with tears in their eyes, finally seeing a ray of sunshine where there had been nothing but despair. Throughout the galaxy many began to question their views on the merits and strengths of Jedi.

Today was a day that would not be forgotten.

Sullust was... a sore spot for Crix it had to be said but that didn't mean he just forgot about it. No, if anything it meant the opposite, with the young Jedi absorbing as much information about the planet as he could, whenever he got the chance. Typically it was yet another list of sentient right violations that the Sith and their puppet government were pushing through.

It was all just so awful to hear but Crix had a connection to Sullust that he simply could not deny. A terrible connection, it was true, but a connection none the less.

But this?

This did put a smile on his face.

Good news, legitimately good news, coming out of Sullust was rare. Good news on this level? Damn, he was beginning to think that it wasn't even possible. Sure, there was something to be said about the Jedi working together with the Rangers to defend a planet from Sith Invasion but this was the first sign that the Jedi could undo some of the damage done by the Sith, not just be a preventative measure.

That the base that featured in so many of his nightmares had been destroyed? It was icing atop the cake as far as he was concerned. Darth Vyrassu he knew by reputation alone (aparently she'd fought someone Hans used to know, that Max guy) but her death was something of a step in the right direction. Sucked that he was thinking about someone's death like that but, well, sucked to be completely awful like her he guessed.

Some of the figures of the Jedi were shown and Crix couldn't hold back a bark of laughter that, honestly, made half of his head hurt like hell. There was nothing for it though - seeing Sevrin trying his best to act like he wasn't running away from the media tickled him. A swell of pride blossomed in his chest - pride in being a Jedi and pride in Sevrin and the others he could see where there as well.

A resolve to get a selfie with Sevrin and send it to the news channel in question also formed but he could wait for that.

Crix settled back into his hospital bed without fuss and breathed a sigh of relief. Sullust could finally be put behind him - his therapist had said that things needed to be resolved before they could be left alone, before they could be buried and stay there. Sevrin had taken some of their fellow Jedi and he had buried Sullust for him. Perhaps not completely and certainly not intentionally but it was the most progress he'd seen in a long time and it did, without a doubt... put such a smile on his face.

Sullust was a victory for the Jedi Order. Another planet liberated from the Sith, although they were still alive and well; though it was a victory it didn't mean the Jedi could relax now, but they did earn the permission to celebrate in these trying times.

Ovinci was drifting through the cold void that was the stars of the galaxy aboard his YV-560 freighter. He was drifting for comfort peace, out here he had little in ways distractions. He had recently broke free from the confines of temples and planetside, he'd felt so useless lately because of his own stupidity, as such he made the decision that he needed to get out and help. Sullust was a reminder of his lack of participation, but it could serve as a motivator.

Ovinci had brought himself into a meditative state where he was sampling the voids and honing his inner understanding, though a warrior he as still profoundly affected by the Force. Before it was announced he felt a profound shift in the Force as the dark lord fell at the hands of the Jedi and their allies. It was like a beacon, a lighthouse indicating change. It screamed out for attention. He couldn't quite understand it, but the holonet confirmed what he already knew.

A victory. A loss in life. So many were impacted and so many will be impacted in both good and bad ways. A joyous occasion although tragic that it had to happen in the first place. Did the Jedi fail the galaxy in the first place to cause it to happen? He did not know but it was being remedied today.

The Jedi returned his awareness to reality in its entirety. He stood up, stretched and watch the broadcast closely. A smile on his face. Well done brothers and sisters. I look forward to meeting you soon and be able to say that yourself. But for now, take the necessary time to recoup, taking lives is never an easy thing.

As Vayla opened the door to her quarters her fingers motioned for the lights and the stereo at the same time. A piano drifted in through the speakers, serene and soothing; calming yet somehow careening as the keys danced and the melody carried her into the room.

Kicking her boots off, Vayla slumped into her sofa. A hand reached over her shoulder, opened the fridge, retrieved a beer and held the cold brew—all without having to get up. She popped the cap and pressed the remote.

The Galaxy would be playing soon; best teen drama this side of the...galaxy...she guessed. Vayla wasn’t terribly into HV but she enjoyed the characterization and music in this particular show. What came instead was breaking news.

Holonet News claimed the holo in her living room as Dila Tran reported on the Jedi assault of Sullust. Watching the reporter maneuver throughout the scene, Vayla crossed her brows in an attempt to make out the figure being pursued; the man whom had led the operation.

Wait… She blinked. Is that… Leaned forward. Oh my… It’s him… She had met the man only once before though he had claimed to have met her before. As far as she could remember, though, both knights had found each other by chance at a shopping mall on Coruscant.

Here he was now, Sevrin Valtiere, walking away from an annoying reporter which is about what Vayla might have done had she been in his position. More important than that, of course, was the Sullust assault itself. She made it a point and purpose to follow up on what had transpired. The reporter’s words had not gone unheard: ‘The Jedi truly are capable of fighting back against the Sith and they are on our side’.

Vayla had experienced this firsthand before, as with the invasion of Byblos, but it was evidently not to such a degree. For the news to cover the workings of the Jedi beyond mysterious figures waving laser swords? Rather, individuals willing to risk death to preserve life? That, Vayla wagered, was worth taking a drink to.

“Drink,” Zad commanded.

“It’s...it’s dirty!” The thug retorted.

“It’s water.”

“It’s dirty water!”

He drank anyway after Zad shoved his face into the muddy puddle. It was deep enough to where the bastard made those gurgling noises and the flapping of the limbs as though drowning. Before that would happen his handler lifted his head up so the criminal could clutch for breath.

“So…” The Ranger began. “...You were saying something about spice?”

“I...” The spicerunner gasped. “I d-didn’t say a-anythin’, mister!”

Dunk!

“What I m-meant to s-say was...I don’t know nothin’ ‘bout no sp-spi—”

Dunk!

“I MEANT TO SAY THAT I—”

“Wait wait wait shut up for a sec.” The Ranger sniffed, keeping one hand on the head of the idiot in the farmland while his other hand whipped out his comlink. It buzzed and beeped with an urgent SR alert that read ‘BREAKING NEWS’.

Zad cocked a brow at that. “Can you breathe, partner?” He inquired of his captive.

“Y-Yes…” The criminal confirmed. “Quite well, actually… Though these farms do smell like sh—”

Dunk!

Zad held his hand down some extra moments as he listened to this ‘breaking news’. He nodded his head to the Jedi’s efforts in taking on the Sith base on Sullust. That was quite a feat and was not worth forgetting anytime soon. He had recently shared drinks with a Jedi Master, one Drow Something-Or-Other, and the two had agreed that both their organizations were doing their part to make the galaxy a safer place.

These ninja-samurai-wizard-knights, well, they sure knew a thing or two about taking on the Sith. The latter was the former’s playing ground. Like a gravball team taking on a gravball team instead of a speedball team taking on a gravball team… Zad blinked. Whatever that means… He suddenly remembered his quarry.

“Hey, you okay?” He lifted the head up. The guy wasn’t breathing. Zad looked left, looked right. “You were sayin’ about spice?” Silence. Looked right, looked left, slapped the cuffs on. It would be an easy report. Made all the more difficult if Corran was here...

“HEY TACO!”
The voice erupted out of nowhere. “CATCH!”

Unfortunately, Taco did anything but catch. Like his dead dog Timmy, he fell off the wall. The taco struck him square in the face and down he went. Fortunately, he wasn’t leaning on the wall of a walkway of whose back was the endless descent of Coruscant traffic. Instead, his butt struck the grass of the playground.

“HA HA HA HA HA HAAA!” His attackers laughed themselves away. So he simply lay on his back with his feet in the air, courtesy of falling backward to land on a slide to slide down said slide to land on his back with his feet in the air resting on said slide.

“Ohhh I think I’ve broken somethin’...” The Twi’lek conveyed. He reached behind his back to find a carrot cracked in half. He winced and winged. “That...was my dinner…”

“Fret not, friendo,” Farret favored with a fair-weather-friend feeling. He was a Nautolan with bulging black eyes that terrified the Twi’lek especially now as they hovered over his own greens. “I found a paperclip!”

Taco blinked at the paperclip. “What...the hell do I want with a paperclip...dumbass?”

Farret shrugged. “To...clip paper...I guess?”

Groaning, Taco summoned some dignity and gathered himself into a stance. The giant holoscreen came alive just then, changing from the ad of how to do squats to an ad of how to wear wigs to breaking news about some Jedi attack on So Lost or whatever the reporter said.

“Daaaaannnggggggg!” Farret danged.

“What?” Taco what’d.

“Dude! You don’t know!? Jedi just KICKED SOME SITH ASS”

“Oh…” Taco wasn’t really up to date on current affairs. He didn’t have much currency and his last affair was with a Katie which occurred before a Kaylee had dumped him. Or was it after..? “Well...I guess the Jedi mean business, huh?”

“Daaaaannnggg right, friendo!” Farret held up a thumb. “Plus...you know some Forcey stuff too, right?”

Taco shrugged. “Eh…” With that, he snatched the paperclip away from Farret without ever touching it. It hovered in midair between the slide and himself. “...I guess…”

Dila Tran seemed to be having some trouble getting an actual interview for her live report. Sevrin certainly didn't seem the type and true to form he made himself scarce in the face of media. Hannibal got through brushing a bit of dust and dash out of his droid-like cybernetic left arm and stood up off the rock he'd been using as a seat, rubbing his face for a moment. He kind of felt for the poor lady considering this was a momentous occasion not just for the Jedi but the rest of the galaxy as well.

Well, good news! Hannibal had already been on the news before about Sith stuff so he might as well.

The young Councilor stepped up, his distinctive and maybe even iconic brightly coloured robes, although abbreviated to the under layers, easily recognizable as the same he'd worn after the Sith on the Coruscant prison. Dila Tran and her crew noticed him easily against the bleak backdrop of Sullust's surface and approached him, that same characteristic smirk on the man's face and colourful tattoos across his living arm, including the twisting series of filled in lightning marks and numerous scars, in plain view.

"Master Jedi! Master Jedi, would you happen-?" "Sure sure," Hannibal said and waved her along, camera shaking as the crew navigated around a few larger rocks and pieces of debris.

"Do you have anything to say about this successful action against the occupying Sith?" the reporter asked with eagerness clear in her voice, the camera focusing on the ash-stained but still grinning figure of Hannibal. Bright emerald eyes fixed turned to look directly at his interviewer.

"This win was hard fought and couldn't have been done without the help of the Sullustan people and many good Jedi. Workin' together, we can do a lot more than we can alone just as shown on Byblos. The Jedi Order will always support the rights of peace, freedom, and life of all peoples and cultures in the galaxy, and true to our word we will fight to defend them if necessary."

The reporter nodded and picked right up with the next questions.

"And who are you, Master Jedi? And can you tell us anything about the mysterious leader of this operation?"

Hannibal waved his hand through the air in a casual manner at the last question, shaking his head.

"'Fraid I can't speak on his behalf. He's a good sort and very good at his work, has amazing hair, excellent swordsman. Proud to fight by his side and this wouldn't have happened without him. But he's the private type, you understand. Me, though?" The Jedi's grin widened and mischief sparkled behind those bright eyes of his, once now looking directly at the camera.

"I'm Hannibal, Jedi Master. I fought in defense of the prison on Coruscant, dueled aboard the Sith flagship over Ryloth, and defied the Eternal itself on these plains, each time side by side with other members of the Order. I'm still here. The Jedi are all still here and we're not givin' up so long as we can help."

Hannibal's grin widened into something impish.

"And to the Eternal, wherever they're hidin' out now and shakin' behind that tacky holomovie prop they call a mask instead of showin' up themselves? You asked for a fight, you got one."

Then with a cheeky wink, a charming smile, and a genial shake of the interviewer's hand he was off to see what else he could do while he was still on Sullust.

Draco Virtus would be in Tatooine cruising down the wastelands on his speeder bike at full bore. His cape flattering in the wind as the dusty trail left behind was kicked up into the air and slowly would settle after he was a couple hundred yards away. The scorched dual suns of Tatooine bearing down on the wastelands as the horizon had a bit of a wave in the air to it. Wearing his usual attire with his helmet on he would twist back on the throttle and a loud roar from the engine was heard. Smirking under his helmet as it was late day and he finally was off for the rest of the evening. Going far out into the wastelands as he eventually made it to his home. A old half buried sand crawler on its side and barely visible as he lived there for quite some time. The entrance widened out so he could fit his speeder bike in there. The front heavy steel doors with a porch-like room behind them where he parked his bike.

Stepping off it he would hit a timer on his hip that was close the doors. Normally the crawlers doors were vertical but after some considerable time and much of his pay stubs he managed to redo the place as he liked. The doors now went horizontal to match the machine on her side. Though 97% of it was buried under heavy sand dunes. Draco would remove his helmet and hang it as he made his way down the hallway. Flicking a small switch as a generator back to spurt and slowly come to life turning on the lights one by one. A tv flicked on in the main area with the holonet playing as he watched the events unfold. "Sith lose Sullest!" was the headline as he near perked a brow. Reaching over to his fridge and grabbing a beer he'd crack the top off as he took a mouthful and set the bottle on a accent table near the couch. "Well i'll be double dog damned." he said with his usual twang. Wiping the beers froth from the corner of his lips he would kick up his feet and plop the cowboy hat on the couch upon his head.

"Bout' time." he chuckled watching the tv before throwing his two blaster pistols on the table with dried blood on them from his previous engagement earlier the day. Was nice to know headway was happening. Kicking his feetup he would lay back and take another mouthful of his beer before yelling " Give em' hell! " and laying back to finally relax

Resting in the cabin of her starship, Minerva out of her armor held the datapad in both hands. Originally she had been looking up leads on her targets until the special broadcast went live. Eyes blinking, Minerva listened further, watching the interviewer go on about Sullust’s liberation. Her expression was unreadable as the revelation sank in. Finally a half grin surfaced.

“Stang those saber freaks actually did it.”

Whatever Minerva’s reservations about the Jedi and the Force in general she can respect their tenacity against a powerful menace like the Sith. It’s one thing to successfully defend worlds like Ryloth and Bylos but a whole other matter to liberate Sullust where the cultists were entrenched. Moreover the death of a high level Sith is very telling if true. While Hannibal answered the reporter’s questions Minerva pondered on all of it.

Turning off the datapad and putting it down the widowed warrior stared up in the ceiling. As a Mandalorian she took great satisfaction at the Sith’s recent defeat only regretting that it wasn’t her people who did it. But as a mother Minerva grimace in growing concern that the war will certainly expand and affect her children back in Mandalore Space. Closing her eyes in an attempt to get some sleep she thought to herself.

Whatever happens next I will protect my kin and fight whoever the enemies of Mandalore will be.

The news of Sullust falling was, obviously, a big blow to the Sith. First Byblos, which fell squarely in the lap of Darth Stolas, now this, which most Sith probably put squarely on the lap of Darth Vyrassu, but Malicia blamed The Eternal more than anyone else. The creature did next to nothing and now, with new information uncovered by her cultists, it had drawn her ire. An ire she could not let herself fester on right now, not while pregnant.

She forced her thoughts to move on. Darth Vyrassu's death was a blow to the Sith regardless of Malicia's feelings about the woman. The woman had been a powerful Force user who'd helped secure several victories against the Jedi, but she'd been useless on the council and wouldn't be missed there.

Because of Vyrassu's disinterest in anything except her whims, Malicia had inadvertently been left to fill two roles on the council. She ran an intelligence agency of sorts with her cult, with ears and eyes planted on the majority of Sith worlds and even outside that, while also leading efforts to take over old worlds filled with ancient Sith knowledge.

If she was not pregnant she wouldn't be sitting on a couch simply watching the holonet. She would've been contuining her efforts, and would've taken part in both invasions. The thoughts made her turn off the news. She'd taken part in almost every Sith conquest since her freedom and yet here she was... stuck.

Yellows gazed down at her belly, and she ran hand ran along it softly. Even if she was upset about everything, it was hard to regret her choice. Her children secured her rule. What she was doing might be a longer, more dangerous play, but it was still a play. She had to focus, for now, on what she'd already committed to, but she was starting to formulate several plans in her mind for when she was fit to fight again.

“Hey, good work on the turkey, friendo,” Kamelle congratulated the cook. Unfortunately the cook was missing his head. Well, not quite. The Sith kept it in her grip as she dangled the cook’s head above her own like a puppet.

“Grrr, not so savory now, are we, Doug!?” She put on her best acting voice.

“No, no, Miss Sith! For I am without a skeleton! Yes! Yes! You have taken me! Like a sixteen-year-old Twi’lek who has just lost his virginity!”

Dangle dangle, wee-wee!, Kamelle danced and dangled that tentacled head and wondered how many Twi’leks it might take to screw in a lightbulb. Ten? Twenty? Ninety? She thought back to her closet. Eh...better not think about that closet…

On the holo, The Galaxy would be playing soon; best teen drama this side of the...galaxy...she guessed. Kamelle wasn’t terribly into HV but she enjoyed the characterization and music in this particular show. What came instead was breaking news.

“Check it out, Doug,” she spoke to the head in her lap. He was feeling a wee bit shy. “Go on, look!” His master beckoned, holding the severed stump up to the holo. Doug didn’t say much; didn't have much to say. Well...Doug is just a floating head, I'll grant...

“See that dumb bitch, Doug?” Kamelle beckoned. “That’s Holonet Whore reporting live! Oh wait wait oops.” She forgot that Doug was missing an eyeball. Oh well fair weather friend here you go. Yep there’s your new eye, Fred’s eye, though Fred is less Twi’lek and more Toydarian but hey who cares, hey?

“Ooooh a brutal fight, Doug! Yeah yeah, Darth Virus kicked the bucket, hey!” Kamelle slapped her thigh as though watching a grav-ball game. Then Dial Transit or whatever was on her way to speak to the man that led the operation. He was a very tall figure with long hair in the distance, whatever that meant, in deep conversation with a few fellow Sullustans so okay whatever.

“Dang, Doug,” Kamelle expressed while chewing on potato chips. “Guy looks like he belongs in the same morgue you do.” This apparent Jedi apparently had a bit in common with Doug as far as refusing to speak went. “Looks like you’re not the only schmuck in this galaxy, Doug, hey?”

Throughout the galaxy, billions began to tune in and see the direct strike against the Sith. Yet there was one Sith who tuned in and didn’t really give a crap. She saw the Sith lose control of an entire planet. A small flame of hope was ignited where it wasn’t thought possible. For Kamelle, that meant a Toydarian's eye sitting snugly in a Twi'lek's skull.

Throughout the galaxy, many watched the feed with tears in their eyes, probably, but not Doug ‘cause he was just a decapitated head, hey. He would see no ray of sunshine but only despair. Throughout the galaxy, many began to question their views on the merits and strengths of Jedi. Not Doug.

Not Kamelle. Who was Kamelle? Who was Doug? Who were the Jedi? Who were the Sith? Just a bunch of heads, perhaps. She mused, plugging potato chips into her mouth before tossing Doug over her shoulder. He was...starting to stink...and so were the Sith as far as losing Sullust went.

“Oh well…” Kamelle sighed. “...At least I got potato chips…”

Xeno laid on the bed in his master’s ship. While he had been healing from a training session he looked to the radio she had within the room. The silence had driven him mad. So as any person in their right mind would react he used the force to turn it on.

The voice over the radio spoke of Sullust. The Jedi attacked.. and won. The acolyte had chuckled. First in disbelief, then he kept laughing at the thought that they actually thought the Jedi could keep up the victories. The Sith had been leading such a strong front, this was merely a fluke.

The acolyte sat up and stared at the radio, hearing interviews and idiotic statements and comments. He knew the Sith were strong. This wouldn’t bring them to their knees. No. It would only make them stronger. You see when you make a Sith angry, their power grows. With hatred the force builds within them. A rebuttal will occur. When, well you would have to stick around to find out.

Xeno lifted the radio with the force, he stared at it with his eyes glowing yellow. Then he squeezed his hand into a fist as he destroyed the radio. Crushing it, and leaving only pieces. He was breathing heavy and angry. Then force pushed the scrap metal to the side of the room.

“In due time Jedi... it’ll be my turn.. you will fear the name of Xeno.. believe that! I will appear before you and you will regret ever messing with the likes of the Sith.. you will feel my wrath..”

The clinking and scrapping of cutlery on plates and glasses being raised to drink was the only noise on offer as Artorigas sat at the main dining table of the Wessex estate. It was one of his rare returns to his family home since leaving Serenno to become a full member of the Sith. His family was still unaware of his force ability and his new power and rank within the Empire their all served below. To his right at the head of the table sat his father Malendor the current house head, to his right was Artorigas' older brother also called Malendor and his left his mother Ire who Artorigas was sat next to. The rest of the family filled the remaining seats, his three sisters, uncle and two cousins. It was a full meal, one none of them had experienced for a long time as two of his sisters were now married and Artorigas was rarely at the estate now days.

As he cut another piece of meat in two a servant appeared at his fathers side, leaning down and whispering in his ear. The old man nodded before reaching to the controls of the table next to him, with a press of a few buttons a holo projector appeared from the middle of the table. "Malendor, Love, we agreed no Holo at the dinner table." His mother began before a quick raise of his hand silenced his wife. The whole table looked up to watch the report of the defeat at Sullust, it was a strange thing to watch as his family reacted to this news.

Both his father and brother looked angry, both gripping their cutlery tight the knuckles whitening, his oldest sister Penda gasped at the death of Darth Vyrassu an apparent admirer it seemed. It appeared as though Artorigas was the least shocked or moved by the report which made him laugh inside considering his ties in comparisons to his family. He had to hide a small smile which grew across his lips, luckily only his youngest sister Corneila noticed and she and he was closer than the rest of the family.

"Its weak Sith like Darth Vyrassu which make our Empire look frail. We need stronger leaders controlling our armies." Slamming his fist into the table. "If I had the force those Jedi would never had a chance." The old man liked to think of himself as a brilliant mind but he was mediocre at best, only the smarts of Artorigas' uncle had actually kept the House going these last few decades, a quick glance down the table showed all of that upon his uncles face. The younger Malendor chimed in then about his desire to do more to help the Sith perhaps even enlisting with the military, something his mother quickly began to quash.

The showboating and phallus waving continued for another ten minutes, even his cousins getting involved, only Artorigas and his uncle kept quiet during it all. Artorigas had begun to meet more of the upper echelons of Sith over the past few months and he knew that this set back would be only that 'a setback' they would strike back soon and it would be devastating, the other Darth's were already plotting and planning. Strikes may even be happening as they all sat and watched this Holo, another world or system coming under the grip of the Sith Eternal. And he too had a strike he was looking to land soon, his father began asking his opinion on the matter and he only smiled and gave the expected answer, his father already considering Artorigas as a waste of his time. Soon, very soon.

Alex sat quietly in her chambers in the Temple on Yavin IV. The news broadcast played against the stone. She watched in silence. What was she meant to feel? Elation? Pride? First the victory at Byblos and then the liberation of Sullust. She could feel the exactment bubbling in the Temple, that same feeling that had swept over the allied forces on Byblos. Alex felt only a hallow pit in her stomach. Was this what they were becoming? The Order was not meant for war. It twisted and corrupted who they were. She knew they had to stand against the Sith, but those images of the Jedi on Sullust covered in the trapping of their hard-fought victory…it only brought sadness into her heart. This was not who they could become. Alex stood slowly, looking for her datapad.

The call for healers had already gone out. She began to quickly pack her travel bag. They would need the best the Order had to offer. She was among that number. Her eyes caught in the small mirror on her desk. Images of her time above Byblos, with Manat, and the other flashed. Was she a hypocrite? Was she not doing the very thing she sought to avoid? They were necessary Alex. That was what she told herself. Necessary. She shook her head slowly. She was becoming the very Jedi she sought the prevent. The Jedi who would do what was necessary.

Alex had made a promise to Max. A promise she intended to keep. They had to fight, but that did not mean they had to lose themselves to do it. Some of them had to keep the light on. They all could not make those sacrifices. Which one would you be? The Jedi who waded into the dark so that others would not? Or the Jedi waiting to help them find the light again? Honestly…she did not know. Alex ran a hand through her hair and hustled out the door.

"Thank the Force you've opted to call me without that helmet covering your face, dear daughter."

A smile crossed her features as Hrist lifted the teacup to her lips. She'd left Xeno to rest after he received injuries from fighting a blixus. Should she tell Father that she had acquired a student? Maybe next time, when the Acolyte had healed. A plan to take him to Naboo played in her mind, and was it the best way to announce to Father that she was now teaching someone the ways of the Dark Side and the Sith?

"You know I am always Hrist to you, Father," she assured the aging human. "Saragnayan is your loyal protector–"

"And Hrist isn't?"

Ruby gaze lifted to meet the image smiling thinly at her. The Marauder let the teacup go, levitating it with the use of the Force to give her Father her full attention. Hrist dipped her head in a respectful bow.

"Hrist will always be your sword and shield, Father. Am I not your good girl?"

A staticky laugh through the call, and the female Sith only lifted her head when Father told her to.

"You will always be," Father assured her in return, voice warm and kind. She always liked it when he talked to her that way. It made her feel needed. The old man's tone shifted, however, as one of the servants said something in the background. "Have you seen the news, my dear?"

Hrist blinked in onfusion at the sudden change in thre topic and the vaguely concealed distaste in Father's tone. She politely shook her head, prompting the old human to continue.

"Sullust has been liberated from the Sith's control."

Oh. So that was why a sudden flash of anger cut through her mind through the Force, mostly from her student who was supposed to be resting and not stressing himself out with. Xeno must have heard the news already, then.

In all honestly Hrist held no love for thr planet itself, nor the Sith fortress there. But she did meet Algus reborn there, and the ex-Jedi was an interesting fellow. Perhaps he was the only reason why Sullust held a fraction of interest in the planet. Forget the fear she felt towards the Sith Lord Raze. But the fall of Sith control on the planet–

"Some Darth was killed as well. Vyrassu, I believe," Father continued, his gaze focused on something that was out of Hrist's view. A datapad, perhaps.

The Marauder's smile vanished. She regarded her Father curiously watching any subtle changes to his expression or mood.

"Does this news displease you, Father?" she asked him. One gloved hand reached out to retrieve the floating cup, the other towards the teapot by her side. "The Jedi's triumph on Sullust?"

The aging human's smile widened a little. "No... No, it does not. Had you bern there when the Sith lost, however..."

The smile returned to Hrist's face. If the Sith losing control over Sullust was of no concern to her Father, then she would feel the same. It wasn't her problem that her fellow Sith lost to the Jedi nor a Darth getting killed.

As long as Father wasn't displeased, then she would feel the same. At least she hadn't been on Sullust when it happened. At least she wouldn't be on the receiving end of Father's disappointment.

Hyperspace, following the Prison Breakout

The sound of the running shower did little to drown out the vomiting from Tiamat as she finally let her body do what it wanted to purge the drugs. She sat naked in front of the toilet bowl, sweat covered her body, pains and chills rippled through her body; her eyes watered to anytime her stomach was about expel its contents and soon there would be nothing left but dry heaves as she pushed herself across the floor and against the wall to regain enough energy to actually crawl into the shower. Her thoughts felt like they were racing, it was hard to latch onto anything for a moment just long enough to process. It did not help they wanted to debrief her on what has happened since Byblos and while she managed to remain as patient as she could, she had to take leave from the others. She wasn't quite ready to interact with others anyways. However the one story that had caught her attention was Sullust.

The sedatives they kept giving her had some odd effects; it was almost as though she were in a constant twilight sleep. She could still hear and at times see things with an aura, but she was weak enough she could not will anything without the aid of others. She spent most of her time either sitting on the floor or laying on the cot, where it left her feeling vulnerable and exposed. The sensation of feeling powerless as she laid there had dug deep into her memories. No amount of drugs could ever eliminate those feelings that were attached to her memories and ingrained in her body. At times when she lost consciousness, she felt herself being pulled back to those years being on the run, being preyed upon an evil that no sith could even begin to compare. It was hard to wake up from her nightmares as they reenacted through her head, forcing her to relive those experiences time and time again.

She saw this as torture, they saw it as safety.

There was at some point where the guards had played the story of Sullust in her cell, along with the cheering and jeers they would hiss in her ear as she laid helpless. She wondered if they had given her an extra dose to ensure she would not be able to move or react and instead, she had to lay there and take their mockery. It felt as though it lasted for several days, the reports, the analysts, the holo footage played loudly for her to never miss a critical moment in the obnoxious reporting efforts of the holonet.

She turned her head slowly to see where she had laid the datapad and with an extended effort, Tiamat pulled the device to her palm with the Force. She wiped back her sweat-drenched hair (which was horribly matted no thanks to the Rangers), and found the holonews reports on Sullust, reading through the results of the attack, who was involved, and who had perished. Her eyebrows rose in interest as she pulled up the video of the reporter trying to get a comment from a Sephi Jedi who gave that familiar gaze. She smiled from the humor in seeing his reaction, it was the same stare he had given her during the interrogation and the same one that reminded her much of Emryc. She was going to need to check if it was just a Sephi thing.

Her fingers ran over the screen and videos as she pulled up holofootage of the destruction; to say the least, she was impressed to them taking the initiative. It was almost refreshing to see the Jedi had some capacity to take the incentive. Though, certainly it would be short-lived, a burst of enthusiasm. She hoped it would have been worth the effort as they were inviting the wrath of the Sith to their homes.
