Jey woke up feeling completely hungover, his whole body ached and it felt as if his brain had been melted. He rose slowly from the metal floor he woke up on, rubbing the back of his head, groaning, where the hell was he? Jey took a moment to scan the room before realising he was in a cargo hold, Scouty was nowhere in sight and he definitely knew this wasn't the Kath Hound's cargo hold. So, the question still remained... where the hell was he? Still sat on the cold metal floor, he rubbed his temples trying to block out the tight pressure he was feeling in his head and tried remembering how he even got here.

NOT LONG AGO...
Jey was on a forest planet, sweating in a black shirt and training with his lightsaber as Scouty observed on a nearby log. However, the training came to abrupt halt when he sensed he wasn't alone here, it wasn't the same kind of feeling he got from the wildlife... no, these were sentient he was sensing. Jey ran a hand through his drenched jet black hair "Scouty, prep the ship." he commanded, and without hesitation the small droid quickly leapt from the log and made his way to the Kath Hound. Now alone, Jey raised his lightsaber - it's amber blade just a few inches from his face as he tried to focus on the presence... and not before long, it was revealed.

A group, maybe four or five, Mandalorians stepped out from the bushes - each on different sides to Jey, "We're here for the bounty, kid. We know all about you so don't try anything stupid." one Mando said, the one that was stood a few metres opposite of him "If you know all about me, then you know it was a dumb idea to come for me." Jey retorted arrogantly. With a simple nod from their leader, the Mandalorians all converged on Jey...

PRESENT...
Jey continued rubbing his temples as the memories came flooding back, he remembered putting up a good fight against the five Mandalorians before eventually being caught with a whipcord and electrocuted unconscious. Jey frowned, "It was five against one..." he thought to himself glumly at the unfair circumstances, Jey proceeded to stand up and stretch - he'd need to find a way out of here and fast. Turning to look behind him, he would see another unconscious person a few feet away from him... it took him a moment but he recognised who it was. It was Astra. Conflicting feelings overwhelmed him for a brief moment, he was relieved he wasn't alone, his feelings for her were still strong, but he was also still mad at her for the last encounter they had together. Though, he wasn't an idiot, he would need her help if they were to escape - and so he approached her to wake her up.

Astra woke up with a groan and placed a hand to her forehead as if that would help the worst headache she had ever experienced. She pushed herself up into a sitting position to try and work out where she was and what had happened to lead to her getting here and as she did so, she saw Jey beside her and looked at him, unimpressed. Of all the people to be stuck with right now, Jey was not at the top of her list after their last encounter.

She said nothing though and continued to scan the room for some indication as to where they were. It became apparent they were in the cargo bay of a ship but it wasn't a ship she recognised and it was clear there had been foul play which led her to wonder why she was there. Jey being there was understandable, there was no one he hadn't managed to irk in the galaxy but Astra didn't have any personal enemies that she knew of and no one knew she was, or had been, good friends with Jey.

Her mind returned to the events leading up to them being here and she frowned at the thought of what had happened...

*****
"Try and rest now." Astra told the Twi'lek woman lying on the bed with an elevated leg who nodded in agreement. The mission was the first of it's kind that she had been on. Sent with other Jedi as healers on a planet that had experienced a natural disaster and were struggling to comply with demands. Although she wasn't the most accomplished healer, she was starting to learn valuable lessons from this mission.

As she was walking back to the home of the family who were kindly hosting her, she was approached by a couple of Mandalorians and aware of the historical tensions between the two groups, although she was trying to blend in as a civilian, she offered a smile. "Can I help you?" She asked. In that moment she felt a sudden change in the force and watched as one of them reached for a blaster but she was unwilling to brandish a lightsaber so publicly, even if there weren't many about, so she used the force to push the pair of them backwards.

As she turned to run, she stood facing another Mandalorian who had a blaster pressed against her abdomen and shot before she had the chance to react. The force of the shockwaves throwing her backwards before rendering her unconscious...

*****

In a panic, her hand reached to her hip where her lightsaber should be but as expected, there was nothing there. She knew this shouldn't be a problem, Kraud had taught her as much, but she felt like she depended on her lightsaber much to Kraud's dismay. Astra finally paid attention to Jey after gathering her thoughts and looked at him with a sigh before speaking. "Are you hurt?" She asked before unsteadily getting to her feet and scanning the room for a door.

Jey lightly woke up Astra and as she sat up, she gave him a cold look which immediately triggered Jey's negative emotions - anger and annoyance shrouded over him like a black cloud as the sight of her cold expression returned him to that day in Corellia. He backed away from her slightly as she scanned the room, proceeding to stand up and check his pockets and pouches for anything useful - nope, the Mandalorians stripped him of everything. He said nothing to her as he folded his arms and turned his back to the Jedi.

While it was had been revealed to him that the Hutt's bounty was the cause of his capture - he had no idea what Astra was doing here, though it didn't take him a second to figure out a potential reason. Jey scoffed, thinking of the possibility that she was here because she stuck her nose in someone else's business and bit off more than she could chew, sounded like a dumb situation she'd get herself in at least. "All you karkin' Jedi are the same." he thought to himself.

Then she broke the uncomfortable, hostile silence between them by asking if he was hurt - "Save it, Calloway." he responded coldly, arms still folded and back still turned to her. When the teen finally turned around to look at Astra, he noticed her eyes dart around the room - probably looking for some kind of exit, to which he shook his head and leaned against a nearby metal wall, "And what're you gonna do when you find the door? Force push it open?" he said mockingly, "That door outta here is probably magnetically sealed shut." he added, while knocking his fingers on the metal wall behind him.

Reason he knew all this was because of his background as a mechanic, he knew how technology worked and could guess these Mandalorians were using special equipment to keep their Force-sensitive captures... captured. Though, he already had an idea on how to escape - as soon as those damn bucket heads open the door, he'd rush them.

After what had happened on Corellia, Astra had wondered whether or not it had meant the end of her friendship with Jey or if it would just be a temporary hiccup but so far neither had received the other even slightly positively. In the days following her kicking Jey out of her home, she wondered if she had overreacted to his mistimed joke and subsequent defence of it. After all, Jey had meant well...

Astra frowned at the cold response she got from Jey, hoping they could at least be civil for the duration of their planned escape as it would likely require teamwork, but she doubted he would be mature enough to do that. Jey's attitude and mocking of her only proved his immaturity and although she was greatly irritated by him, Astra saw no appropriate response other than to not respond to him for the meantime. She was still annoyed with him, firstly for the joke and secondly for not apologising when he could see it upset her.

If Jey wasn't going to provide any assistance then she decided not only to not respond to his words but to ignore them entirely so she walked over to the door and closed her eyes, holding her hands out to try and open it with the Force despite Jey's mocking. Maybe it would be better if he just kept out of her way, she wondered, as he usually seemed to make situations worse if he wasn't the one who initiated them in the first place.

She attempted to open the door for minutes but it didn't budge, whether it was because of her lack of skill or composure due to the negative emotions she was experiencing she couldn't be sure. She could sense the presence of people on the other side of the door and moved to the side and pressed herself against the wall in case any were to come in, otherwise they would be relying on whatever ingenious plan Jey could come up with to make the situation worse this time.

Jey's brow raised, she said nothing and continued to not speak to him - was she really giving him the silent treatment? Who was the younger one here? Jey stayed leaned against the wall with his arms crossed as he watched her attempt to open the door, despite what he had told her earlier. The teen shook his head and laughed at the clueless Jedi - "Am I speakin' poodoo? You forget how to speak Basic?" Jey called out to her, in an attempt to irk her.

"Told you, the door's magnetically shut. Not even a lightsaber'd get through that." he said rolling his eyes, as he pushed himself off of the wall and approached her, only stopping a slight distance away from her. However, although he had mixed feelings regarding Astra right now - he knew he couldn't chastise her forever, they needed to escape. Now thinking about it, his earlier plan wasn't exactly foolproof and he needed to think of a better way that didn't risk Astra's life as well. The teen ran both hands through his jet black hair, pulling it back as he began to think of another way.

After a few moments, a large grin formed on his face as an idea struck. He had thought of a plan, although he knew Astra wouldn't like it... little way of getting payback he guessed. "Alright, Calloway. I got an idea." he said, grin still stuck to his face "Bucketheads are fierce warriors, military geniuses... but they won't see this coming." he added, building his way up to the flawless plan he had. As he released his grip on his hair, he placed his hands on his belt and chuckled slightly "You pretend you're dying, when the unlock the blast door - we jump them." Jey revealed almost excitedly. He was itching to get some payback on those Mandos for beating him in an unfair fight.

Astra knew better than to respond to Jey's attempts at getting a rise out of her as it was exactly what he wanted so continued to ignore him, intending to work on her own to figure a way out of the situation. However, it soon became apparent that she wouldn't be able to work alone after her first attempt at escape hadn't worked, much to her dismay. She hadn't been planning on talking to Jey so soon but now rather inconveniently it would seem that she had to.

Despite what had happened between them, Astra didn't want to banish Jey from her life forever. She was hurt by what he had said and the fact he didn't see the need to apologise after but she also knew that she wasn't entirely in the right either so it seemed maybe one of them would have to get over their pride and bite the bullet. As Jey was the first to step out of line, however, she believed he should be the one to apologise first but it seemed unlikely so she wondered if an apology from her would prompt one from Jey.

Her eyes met Jey's when he referred to her by name, although rather impersonally by her surname. When she saw his grin it made her miss the friendship they had and wonder if she was being petty by not forgiving him... but no. She was angry, not just at Jey but at the galaxy at the moment. She felt like her entire world-view had changed and it pained her; he was just part of a smaller problem at the moment.

"I... what?" Astra asked in surprise, although she understood the concept of the plan, she was hesitant as such an act would only give the Jedi a further bad reputation but at the same time the fight hadn't been fair and while two wrongs didn't make a right she believed this was their most likely chance of escape. "Alright." She agreed without needing further convincing. "Do you want me to just lie here or...?" She asked, getting onto her knees on the floor. "They stopped teaching acting as part of the Jedi training the year before I joined so bear with me."

As he explained his plan, the teen could sense the conflict within her - although he was still mad at her, he understood where she was coming from. It was strange however, Jey was aware of the deep Force bond Astra had with Alana but... maybe it was all in his head, he felt as if he had a unique kind of bond with her too. No where near as powerful as the Calloway twins, but something was there... maybe it spawned from her helping him re-establish his connection to the Force? Or maybe it was because of the feelings they had for each other, yeah, he still sensed that within her too.

Snapping out of the prospect of rekindling their friendship, relationship, or whatever they were - he was surprised to hear that she was actually on board with the plan. A mischievous smirk proceeded to form on his face in response "Looks like you aren't a complete stick in the mud." he half joked, and when she asked for directions on the planning, finishing it off with a sly joke, Jey was forced to whip his head away from her as to hide a slight chuckle she brought out of him. Regaining his composure, he returned his gaze at Astra "Yeah, just lie down... I'll handle the rest."

After Astra would fake being dead or dying, Jey swiftly approached the blast door and began banging on it loudly, screaming at the top of his lungs in the most panicked voice he could muster "Hey! Someone help! The girl, s-she's dying! Help her, please!" he called out dramatically. He continued banging and kicking at the door, but he still heard the voices of the Mandalorians outside "She's dying?!" a feminine voice said to another, "If she dies, we don't get our cut..." a masculine one responded. With that, he heard footsteps grow louder as they approached the door.

The blast door swung open and the male Mandalorian shoved Jey out of the way and guarded him against the wall while the female one checked on Astra's 'corpse'. Tip-toeing, Jey peaked over the bucket head's shoulder to see how close the female Mandalorian was to Astra's body - and as her guard was let down, Jey shouted "Now!" for Astra to take out the female Mandalorian.

Astra rolled her eyes at his comment and lay down on the floor and closed her eyes, doing the best dead impression she could muster. The brief exchange of words between the Mandalorians gave an insight into why she had been held captive on their ship and it became clear that it was likely due to her status as a Jedi rather than for any deeper meaning.

Knowing this irritated her; the Jedi and Mandalorians had a complex history but it always seemed to involve the Mandalorians targeting the Jedi except when using the Jedi could benefit them. Even though the groups were at peace with each other now, the Mandalorians would always be the most ruthless and formidable bounty hunters in the galaxy and they did not discriminate against anyone, Jedi or otherwise.

At Jey's signal, Astra reached up to wrap her arm around the neck of the woman leaning over her and pulled her downwards, wrestling with her for control until she had her pinned. The man in front of Jey had a blaster trained on the pair but was unable to get a clear shot as the women were so close to each other so he would risk shooting his comrade.

Astra reached for the woman's blaster but took a fist to the face in doing so which knocked her off the woman. Although the attack surprised her, Astra backed away along the floor until there was some distance between her and the woman and fired a stun bolt at her, knocking her out cold before pointing the blaster at the man in case Jey didn't have the situation under control.

After giving the signal, Astra went to work which gave Jey the opportunity to work his 'magic' too. The scuffle between Astra and the female Mandalorian caused the male to turn his attention away and focus on the two women on the floor with his blaster aimed, Jey used this opportunity to kick upward at the Mando's hand, knocking his blaster away. Retaliating instantly, the Mandalorian didn't have to turn around as he elbowed Jey straight in the nose and caused him to fall on the ground clutching his nose in pain.

Removing one of his hands, he noticed blood on his palm from his nose - the sheer anger he felt from the pain in his nose coupled with the severity of the situation they were in caused Jey to accidentally tap into the Dark side of the Force temporarily, as he stretched out his hand in the direction of the Mandalorian's throat and began choking him through the Force. As the Mandalorian tugged at his throat, Jey felt joy watching him struggle and considered crushing his windpipe then and there... but ultimately, he snapped out of his power rush and released his grip, allowing Astra to stun him unconscious quickly after.

With the threat over for now, Jey slammed his fist onto the metal floor out of frustration - frustration because he took the quick and easy path again, allowed his emotions to control him. With a sigh, he wiped the blood from his nose, stood up and made his way to Astra, kneeling down to help her up "You good?" he asked both out of concern and also as a way to avoid dealing with his own issue. After helping her up, he took a moment and looked into her eyes as his anger and frustration completely washed away upon looking at her - oh yeah, his feelings for her were still very much there.

Astra watched in horror as Jey force choked the Mandalorian and could feel the emotions he felt as he did so and unexpectedly she could sense his... joy? She wondered what the exhilaration of the Dark side of the Force coursing through her felt like and oddly her horror melted away watching Jey and she was intrigued by the abilities the Dark side granted that the Light did not.

She had been trying to help Jey to join the Jedi or at least follow the path of the Light side but after the recent revelation about her father she wondered if maybe it was her destiny that was different and Jey was supposed to be helping her... after all, Alana had been struggling with the Dark side for some time now so maybe that was the way it was meant to be and they were just fighting what they already were.

Once Jey released the Mandalorian, Astra didn't hesitate to shoot the man with the stun bolt and looked up at Jey when he approached her, seemingly emotionless. "Yeah." She replied calmly, accepting his offer to help her back to her feet, neglecting to ask Jey if he was okay though it wasn't intentional as her mind was elsewhere. Her eyes lingered on his for a moment but she said nothing and instead walked past him to the open door.

Outside the cargo hold there wasn't initially anyone present but it would soon change as the commotion had caused quite a racket. Astra could sense someone approaching from around the corner and fired the blaster at them as soon as they were in sight before running further into the ship, hoping to find their lightsabers on one of the remaining Mandalorians.

Jey expected some kind of lecture from her after what he just did, but received nothing, it was probably to be at expected... with where they were at right now, she probably didn't care enough. As the two locked eyes, he sensed the conflict within her even more than he did before... as if it had grown, but before he could say anything - she answered his question bluntly but calmly, and then proceeded and walked passed him without another word.

Slightly hurt by her act, especially during... what he thought was a 'moment' between them, he stood in place for a moment and hung his head down. "I really did mess everything up, huh?" he thought to himself before ultimately re-strengthening his revolve, Jey returned to the unconscious male Mandalorian and picked up his blaster and examined it - it wasn't a DL-18 but it would have to do. With that, Jey followed the blonde Jedi outside of the cargo hold where they would find no one else present.

Then he sensed something, someone about to turn a corner - Astra sensed it too as she stunned the Mandalorian as soon as they emerged, she was quiet - he sensed the determination and focus within her. Unluckily for them however, this Mandalorian didn't have their lightsabers on hand which meant they'd need to continue using their blasters and the Force for now. As the two reached further into the ship, he began to recognise its layout; they were currently inside a YT-2400 and if memory served correctly, the cockpit wasn't far.

Taking the lead and heading in front of Astra, he beckoned for her to follow his lead with a look of seriousness to show her he knew what he was doing. With the blaster still in hand, he led Astra down a long walkway quietly before making stopping at the end of it, he could sense two of the Mandalorians inside the cockpit and peaked his head around the corner to make sure his feelings were correct, and they were, he spotted the two and one of them happened to have their lightsabers attached to their belt. Assuming she sensed it too, Jey nodded in Astra's direction - if they were going to survive this, they'd need to be stealthy.

Everything she had been taught about the Dark side had told her that it was not a path that should be desired, even when temptations try and convince you it is, it'll only cause pain to yourself and your loved ones and while Astra believed this could be the case, she also believed that maybe there was a way to harness the power of the Dark side while using it for good but without getting corrupted.

The name of the Dark side alone seemed like it was designed to deter people from following that path but her father had followed that path and while he had made some bad choices in what she could only assume was his lust for power, she still knew him as her father and loved him without knowing anything different about who he was. Maybe her father was a Dark side practitioner but was not corrupted but instead had a very warped view on the world and that thought gave her hope.

Jey's use of the Dark side had set a chain of anguish within Astra who was now unsure if her path was to follow Jey rather than the other way around. She had felt the conflict of Light and Dark before but had been convinced her path was with the Light but since finding out about her father's past she began to feel more conflicted, as though the line between Light and Dark was blurred.

Astra let Jey lead the way, they were equal in this situation and she barely felt worthy of being a Jedi as it was anyway. After a brief assessment of the situation, and without consulting Jey, Astra quietly sneaked up behind the pair in the cockpit and once at a close enough range she fired a stun bolt towards the one she believed had their lightsabers but upon alerting their presence to the other Mandalorian it became clear that he was the one with the lightsabers. "Ah." She began to back off.

Jey remained hidden but made a table take when Astra simply strolled passed him on her own without even saying as much as a word to consult him. He simply watched in surprise as he watched her sneak behind the pair in cockpit and stun the wrong Mandalorian. Jey slapped his face with the palm of his hand and lowered it down to his mouth, groaning quietly, now Astra had just alerted the most dangerous Mando on the ship.

This... wasn't like Astra at all, if the tables were turned she would be on his case by now, so why was it now okay for her to rush into a situation without thinking - to say this irked him was a gross understatement. The Mandalorian was quick to react and shot up from the pilot's chair, turning toward the backing away Astra as he pulled out a blaster in preparation to shoot her - reacting quickly, Jey stretched his arm out in Astra's direction and pulled her back toward him with the Force, then dragging her behind the corner with him. "You're really... heavy..." he said panting slightly, pulling a live person with the Force was more draining than he thought it would be.

"What the hell were you--" the Force-sensitive teen was ready to go off on the Jedi but was cut off by the raspy voice of the Mandalorian that led the group that had captured him earlier in the distance - "Very impressive, getting passed my boys like that. But you're dealing with me now, I hail from Clan Vizsla." the snap hiss of two lightsabers echoed through the hallway in conjunction with what he was saying. A feeling of dread fell over him as he just realised what had happened, "I know how to kill a Jedi. All we need is your lightsabers, so, come and meet your end with honour." the Mandalorian said menacingly.

Rolling his eyes at the Mandalorian's dramatic speech, he turned to look at Astra with a stern expression - "So, Jedi, what's the battle plan?" he asked mockingly.

"Honour?" Astra scoffed to herself, ignoring Jey's previous questioning as she tried to establish the best way forwards. She shot Jey a glare at his mocking but was unpanicked by the situation, even knowing the Mandalorian was wielding their lightsabers. "Use the Force." She shrugged, not expanding on any further plan than that as she doubted Jey would be able to provide much assistance other than by the power he could gain through raw emotion. Under other circumstances she would've told Jey to stay where he was but so long as he didn't get himself killed she didn't care what he did.

With that, she handed her blaster to Jey and stepped out in front of the Mandalorian until they were metres apart and held both her hands out at which point he lunged at her before being sent hurtling backwards and knocked off his feet, the tip of the lightsaber barely missing Astra's abdomen. She assumed she would have an advantage over the Mandalorian in the sense that he would not be trained with a lightsaber but they were formidable warriors nonetheless.

The conflict inside of her grew as she became more annoyed at the situation they had been put in. While she could appreciate that some people had to do what they could to survive and often that included bounty hunting, the Mandalorians and Jedi had a long and complicated history and the tension between them always seemed to be perpetuated by the Mandalorians which was particularly irritating.

The man was quickly back on his feet and advancing on them again. "What do you know about honour?" She challenged him, angrily. "More than you, Jedi." He replied as he swiped at her with both lightsabers though she anticipated the attack and ducked out of the way. "We should've made sure you were all gone last time we were at war with you." The comment struck anger in Astra's heart so she held a hand out and Force choked the man, causing him to drop a lightsaber and reach for his throat. The thought of how many innocent Jedi had died at the hands of the Mandalorians pained her, this was for them.

Astra wasn't biting on Jey's antics at all, she simply explained she would use the Force and went off to face the Mandalorian on his own - completely shocked and surprised that she just jumped into the action again, he neglected to realise he had to help her as well. The teen was completely mesmerised at Astra's capabilities, he had only seen her with a lightsaber and had no idea she was able to fight without one... he always assumed Jedi were so glued to their lightsabers they didn't know anything else.

As the fight progressed, Jey could sense something... something intense within Astra. The conflict within her seemed to have come to a peak, but he sensed something else too... the increasing hint of the Dark side. It was strange, Jey had only ever sensed the Light within her which felt like the warm rays of sunlight on his russet skin but this was completely different, it felt as if the Dark side that radiated from the blonde Jedi was almost suffocating him, and the more it grew within her, the more intense it felt.

Then he saw it, he saw Astra call upon the Dark side like he had earlier and used it to choke the Mandalorian. He watched in complete horror, this wasn't his Astra, not at all. Noticing the Mandalorian drop Astra's lightsaber in order to grip his throat, and with no signs of Astra conceding her Force choke, Jey held his left arm out and pulled Astra's lightsaber toward him with the Force and ignited its emerald blade.

"Astra, stop!" he yelled at her, voice devoid of any humour, he was completely and utterly serious. Jey pointed Astra's lightsaber in her direction, if he let her kill this Mandalorian out of hate - she'd begin walking down a path of no return. He couldn't let her succumb to it, he refused, if Jey could save anyone in this galaxy it would be her and he was willing to fight her to do it.

The feeling rushing through her was incomparable to anything she had ever felt before and yet she didn't want it to stop. She felt compelled to continue and everything she felt was urging her on so she didn't move but stared at the Mandalorian with a look of pure rage. His ancestors had killed countless innocent Jedi and he clearly had no qualms about continuing their legacy so why let him think the Jedi were weak opponents? No, she would teach him a lesson.

Astra could see Jey holding her lightsaber in her peripheral vision and heard him call to her, though his calls felt distant, but didn't shift her gaze, knowing that doing so would break concentration and release the Mandalorian. Besides, Jey wasn't exactly about to impale her on a lightsaber so she wasn't under any threat herself. Her focus remained on the man in front of her, getting more determined as the presence of the Dark side within her grew stronger.

Nothing else was on her mind apart from the feeling of hate towards the Mandalorian for what he represented and the feeling of the Dark side which made her feel exhilarated. She felt shut off to the rest of the world and was living in the moment where nothing mattered but teaching the Mandalorian a lesson he wouldn't soon forget.

Astra ignored his call, she was completely engrossed into what she was doing - so much so that the Dark side radiated like a thick cloud... didn't she realise she was killing him? "ASTRA!" he yelled at the top of his lungs but to no avail again. Was she ignoring him on purpose? He couldn't let her become a murderer, so he did what he had to and pointed an open palm in her direction and proceeded to yank his arm back in tangent with using the Force to pull her away slightly with the goal of breaking her concentration.

It worked, the Mandalorian dropped to the cold, hard, metal floor face first, creating a loud clanging sound from both his helmet and the metal floor. Jey could sense the Mandalorian was still alive, although barely, with the amount of time Astra was choking him she must have damaged his windpipe. This was a weird turn of events, however, he had just saved the Mandalorian's life, stopped Astra from doing something she'd regret, and now, was about to really go off on her - usually the shoe would be on the other foot.

Jey shifted his gaze from the unconscious Mandalorian to Astra, her lightsaber remained firm in his group. His stare was that of determination but behind his hazel eyes was a deep affection, an affection for Astra, the affection that drove him to keep her safe and on the path of the Light. Jey had made a lot of mistakes in life, maybe he was beyond help, maybe he was meant to be a scumbag for the remainder of his life... but he knew Astra wasn't that, she was a much needed light in this otherwise dark galaxy and he refused to let her extinguish it.

His eyes remained focused on hers "This isn't you, Ast." he said, referring to her by her nickname in hopes of getting through to her... and washing away their previous falling out as if it never even happened...

Astra became fully committed to going through with killing the Mandalorian even though she hadn't initially intended to do so. She just didn't feel as though she could stop and as time went on she felt more confident that the Mandalorian deserved what he was getting and that releasing him could only allow other Jedi to be at risk. Although Jey was near, he sounded as though he was calling from far away and she did not heed his warning, instead focusing all attention and emotions on the Mandalorian.

Unexpectedly, she felt herself pulled backwards and the sudden change caused her to break concentration and release the Mandalorian from her grasp. Her eyes met Jey's with a look of bewilderment and anger but all negative emotions seemingly melted away within moments of eye contact, though the presence of the Dark side was still there and she showed no remorse for what she had just done.

Her gaze shifted from the Mandalorian and then back to Jey but still she expressed no emotions towards the situation. The Mandalorian was going to kill them and Mandalorians had killed many Jedi before. She was only doing what she considered to be the right thing - saving Jedi from the bounty hunting machines that were Mandalorians. "What are you doing?!" She shouted at Jey.

Jey had Astra's attention now, as she stared directly at him he could feel her negative emotions wash away like a flood, it was... reassuring to an extent, until he also sensed the Dark side still lingered within her and it chilled him to the bone. However, he remained straight faced and confident when she yelled it him. "I'm stopping you from doing something you'll regret, stoopa." he yelled back.

Switching off Astra's lightsaber, he began approaching her cautiously. "If you'd have killed that bucket head, it would have been out of cold blood." Jey stated "You'd have been a murderer, Ast. That's not you." getting even more closer to her, his face growing softer with each step to convey a trusting nature to Astra, to make her feel comfortable. "And after snapping out of your murder frenzy, you would never be able to forgive yourself. I know it and so do you."

Jey was inches away from her now, so confident he could get through to her, he placed her lightsaber in the palm of her hand and then closed her hand for her. He looked at her deeply in her blue eyes, aware of his own experiences with the Dark side, he would warn her that this wasn't the way to go - "Look... take it from me, as a former addict. The Dark side is like a drug, the more you use it the more addictive it gets... but in the long run, it destroys you from the inside, like death sticks. You really don't want this." he informed her, believing in every word he was saying to her. He held her hand tight and continued to stare into her eyes "I'm a major screw up, alright? I slip up and use the Dark side at times, its hard and I'm trying. But you, Ast?" Jey paused for a moment, eyes darting to the ground and then back to her eyes once more.

"You're so much better than I am, stronger willpower, stronger everything and just... a way better person than I am." Jey would pause again, biting his lip, letting his emotions guide him... what he would say next would change the entire fabric of their relationship - "... and that's why I love you, Astra." he revealed, with the utmost confidence in his voice.

Astra continued to glare at Jey and wanted to shout back at him in response but then he lowered his voice and she paused to listen, her glare fading into a look of thoughtfulness. He seemd to grow softer with every word which prompted a calmness from her until she was no longer angry but instead began to feel numb to what had just happened.

As Jey continued, his words began to elicit an emotional response from Astra. He was right and she knew it. She couldn't bring herself to intentionally kill another being, what was wrong with her? Her heart started racing at the thought of what might have happened but she searched Jey's eyes for the comfort she so desperately wanted, though she didn't feel like she deserved it.

The feeling of the hilt of her lightsaber against her palm gave her a stark reminder of who she was and the feeling of the metal warmed by Jey's touch against her hand was comforting. She wasn't alone. She had disregarded Jey after their last encounter, believing him to be insensitive, which left her to spiral into the thoughts that she was afraid of but now this proved that he deserved another chance and maybe he would give her one too.

"Jey, I'm not a better person..." She disagreed with the shake of her head, especially not after today. Astra would've offered Jey more comforting words but she was at a loss for words herself, unsure where to go from there until Jey declared something which shocked her. She looked up at Jey with a look of worry, although somewhere inside she felt happy and thankful that he felt the same way as her, she knew she had to protect Jey. "I... I'm not a good influence." She replied, taking a step away from Jey. She badly wanted to tell Jey she felt the same way but was worried she would lead him further down the wrong path unintentionally.
