DESCRIPTION
The BTX-4-2 Armed Freighter was one of the flagship designs produced by Sluis Van Shipyards. It was 27 meters in length, able to carry up to 50 tons of cargo, and could even fit a landspeeder or two speederbikes if it sacrificed 10 tons of cargo space. It was armed with an impressive two twin medium laser cannons mounted on its' wingtips, two medium laser cannon turrets mounted on the body close to the cockpit, and a dual light laser cannon turret mounted right on its dorsal region. It was also surprisingly well armored for a freighter, with reinforced titanium armor plating and a light deflector screen generator. Even with their serious armament and old age, they were still produced by the Sluis Van Shipyards well after the fall of the Final Order.

The craft itself was rather utilitarian in design, indicative of the pre-Clone Wars era it was initially built in. Though it had some minor curves to the body, and two massive engines strapped to the wings, it was a mostly boxy craft. That was not to say it was an ugly craft like most of the YT series, it was mostly just boring. It was a rather dull grey, with small hints of red plating to make it not look like a flying sheet of titanium. Yet, oddly, the craft was somewhat iconic for how utilitarian and boring it was. The BTX was well known for looking like what a droid would design if one were to input the parameters, and it was rather popular in the Sluis Van Shipyards adds for it. The design was rather well ahead of its time, with few updates being brought around to the important systems in the craft. The major running changes were small tweaks here and there: modernizing the seats, swapping out the flight stick with a more up to date one, adding more up to date readouts, the like.

The name of the craft, the BTX-4-2, is actually a code to determine what kind of craft this was meant to be. The B meant it was the second craft in this name scheme (A being a scrapped prototype), T was for transport, X is for experimental craft, while the 4 was which major iteration it is (with one being released every thirty to fourty years) and the 2 being which running change it was. This eas actually the first craft from Sluis Van Shipyards to use a naming system like this, as many before just simply used the project name. This naming scheme stuck around, with many newer craft actually having a hybrid style of naming where it's named through code yet still used the codename.

LEGALITY
Restricted. The BTX-4-2 Armed Freighter were rather heavily armed freighter. This obviously meant any civilian operators would require extra licensing to operate one legally.

INTENT
To introduce a more heavily armed and somewhat smaller Freighter for either poorer militaries, those carrying highly valued cargo, or those stupid enough to enter thick into pirate territory. Also to introduce a popular craft from Sluis Van Shipyards.
