Location: Krevas

Theodore watched, observant of his surroundings, watching the swamp of his home world Krevas. He was waiting on the arrival of a fellow dealer, who had promised him more weapons. Obviously, Theodore’s intentions were clear to him: get the weapon, kill the dealer, or capture him and hand him over to authorities. Either way, he would be making money.

The human male walked up to his table overlooking the swamp, dark and green. “Sit, please.” The Krevaaki man said, gesturing to the table. The human man sat, trying not to take his off Theodore, however, the swamp seemed attractive to him, at least so though Theodore. He never understood humans. It was probably one of the reasons he decided to never leave Krevas.

Now, I know you want the credits, but as you know, we agreed that you would give me the weapons first.”Theodore reached out his left hand, as his right one searched for his holster which held a DL-44 blaster. Once his hand found it, he waited for the right time. The other man took out the weapons from a briefcase, and put them on the table. Theodore found the moment and took his blaster, and shot. After the ringing was gone from his ears, he checked to make sure the man was dead.

Theodore walked over to the man, and kicked him. He was still breathing, but unconscious. Good enough. Theodore gathered the weapons and headed to his house. Today, he would be leaving the man to die.

From Planet A to Moon Z and all the stars in between, Jon Dromon had tracked his bounty to Krevas, and it was this final destination that would prove to be where he earned his credits. In a manner of speaking.

Dead or alive. The bounty hunter reminded himself as he walked across the dirt, keeping his boots dry in between less stable earth. Marshland all around, some ocean on the horizon, but his quarry was now only a handful of feet away.

Alive pays more…but the trouble this shithead has given me… Maybe it was better to debate the way he claimed his bounty later. For now, he had finally tracked him down far and long enough to have finally found him.

The arms dealer had fallen low enough to do shady business in a backwater planet like Krevas. He couldn’t even afford a few bodyguards for his trouble. He was an idiot. That was its own punishment.

So, in a grey trench coat, concealing his weapons, and with a bald blue head, Jon Dromon did not so much as stumble upon a table overlooking a swamp as narrow down the coordinates like a skilled pilot with brains and brawn.

Only…his bounty appeared to be…dead already?
Shit. The Duros gave the motionless body a kick.
Nope... He’s still breathin’. “Hey. Wake up. You shit.”
No response. So Jon Dromon turned over the body.

Jackass got shot. It would not be long until he died.
Sighing, the Duros watched smoke drift to the sky.
Flicking ash from his cigarra, it landed on the idiot.
“Wakey wakey,” Jon demanded. “Piper Pedervich...”

Theodore walked around the pub, and took a mother drink. He loved stealing, fake business. If only he had the resources to have more. He could only wish however.

As Theodore finished up his last drink, he took his briefcase from the table and began to walk outside. He took a look out the window, to realise that there was someone looking at the body. Probably just an observer.

Theodore walked out of the pub, and started thinking of what to say to the person. Opening the door to the pub, he looked over and said, “What are you looking at, huh?” He scowled, trying to get the person to leave it alone.

You can go ahead and throw it in the swamp, he’s as good as dead.” Theodore said, trying it end this. He put his hand on blaster, prepared to do what might be necessary.

But instead, he just decided to walk towards the nearly dead man and check on him. “So, what brings you here?” Theodore asked, cocking his head to the right.

No response. Piper wasn’t too far gone but counting stars. Just my kriffin’ luck. Granted, he hadn’t just come for his target. There was more to it. But before Jon Dromon could contemplate what to do next, like how to wake Pedervich, a voice came his way.

Huh? The Duros did not immediately turn, blowing from his cigarra. What am I looking at? A half-dead shithead, perhaps.

Throw it in the swamp, the voice said. Go ahead. He’s as good as dead. How would you know, amigo?

Jon still kept his cool, but he wouldn’t be taken for a fool. Peripheral vision checks the hand on the blaster as the speaker moves in for the encounter. He checks on the body, living if dying, and beckons the question.

“Here in the courtyard outside the pub?” Jon Dromon turned his head, eyes into eyes. “Or here on Krevas?” No hands on his weapons, but that can change in an instant.

“Ah, I don’t need specifics... I’m here on business. I’m here for pleasure. This swamp, for instance.” Jon Dromon blew smoke. “It’s…it’s got a lot of…swampness…don’t you reckon?”

Here in the pub.” Theodore said, gesturing his hand out to the pub. “Business, huh? Aren’t we all.” Theodore said, eyeing the man. From Theodor’s knowledge, the man was a Duros.

And, even so, why look at the body. Leave him for dead, anyway. He’s not your business.” Theodore said, trying to challenge the Duros man out of this situation.

Theodore pulled his blaster out of its holster, knowing that this man was most likely experienced, if he didn’t cower from Theodor’s challenge.

I’m leaving, go ahead and do whatever.” While Theodore said that, he would not be leaving. In a matter of fact, the Krevaaki man wouldn’t even be leaving the area, but only to hide.

Theodore walked away, planning to spy on the Duros man. He hoped that he could gain intel. If only it was that

Jon decided to keep playing stupid within this game. Oh, but he is my business. He didn’t say. “I like his outfit.” Flicked ash away. “Think that jacket’s Marani?”

The Krevaaki wasn’t so much of an idiot to have any of it. Out came his blaster out of the holster. Over to his own holster came Jon’s hand, finger tapping on the handle, but he didn’t feel pressured enough or in as much danger to whip out the Blackhand.

Go ahead and do whatever.
The bounty hunter’s counterpart of a mysterious character expressed. Yes, he had already proven to be more than a bit suspicious as much as a suspect for the hit.

The Krevaaki would walk away while being watched. Wherever he disappeared off to, Jon noted the direction, then focused on his target.

“I said wake up. You got some explainin’ to do, buddy.”

Useless. Unfortunately, Duros wasn’t much of a doctor. Piper needed medical attention, a stimulant, but if his hunter left him here then the other could come back and finish the job.

So Jon Dromon decided to do something else. He scooped the unconscious body into his arms, paced to an entrance and, unless interrupted, entered the pub to stand before an audience.

“He’s unconscious. But he’s been shot. Who’s got a medkit in this establishment?” This pisspot dump of a pub. Jon Dromon thought.

Theodore watched as the Duros man picked up the body and slang it over his shoulder. There’s no damn way that this guy cares. Theodore thought, watching behind the plants. And then the man went inside the pub.

Shit, shit, shit. Theodore thought. If the man went inside the pub, he would be lost forever. So, after seconds of thought, Theodore moved through the swamp and into the pub.

Theodore opened the door, in-holstered his blaster, sending his right arm inside first, to make sure.

Hey you! Duros man, come here!” Theodore shouted, wanting to get the pub’s attention. He shot twice on the roof, accidentally hitting a light, making it misty and dark inside.

The conditions had become dangerous very quickly, and he knew it. But there was nothing he could do. He scrambled his hands for a flashlight, but couldn’t find one. So a fight in the dark it woild

Well, his entrance having interrupted the music, the Duros certainly had the attention of the patrons, with most if not all of them being Krevaaki to begin with. Did they even speak Basic? Did they understand what the kriff a ‘medkit’ meant?

A door opened just then. A voice came with it. Oh. It’s the dipshit again. The idiot actually beckoned him to come over. Now the pair of men had everybody’s attention.

Unconscious body in the Duros’ arms, a shot went off, and a ceiling light popped. Sparks sputtered. It got dark. A bit. ‘A light’ wasn’t every light or else this was a pretty shitty establishment beyond Jon Dromon’s sarcasm.

While his opponent got busy searching for a flashlight, the bounty hunter relied on his two good eyes amid the dim. He dropped his target to the ground. Wouldn’t feel it anyhow.

The next instant, Jon flipped over a metal table and got behind it, toward a corner, the exit behind him.

“You want me?” The Duros queried, spitting the cigarra out from between his teeth, his Blackhand blaster in one hand, his ATA in the other. “I’m here, huckleberry.”

The pulsating beats of Krevaaki folk music resumed, filling the dimly lit cantina with an energetic vibe. Theodore Calekk, a Krevaaki man known for his sharp instincts, observed the unfolding drama with a mix of curiosity and wariness. The Duros, with his unconscious cargo, now faced off against the mysterious stranger, and the tension in the air was palpable.

As the lights flickered and sparks sputtered, Theodore couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "Kriffing hell, not again." The unpredictable chaos in Krevas' underworld was always an acquired taste, but tonight's disturbance took the cake.

With the main characters at the center of attention, Theodore remained inconspicuous, his sleek, reptilian eyes following every movement.

Theodore's tail twitched nervously as he scanned the scene, mentally calculating the odds of a full-blown shootout. The Krevaaki patrons, undeterred by the sudden darkness, continued their conversations, seemingly accustomed to such disruptions.

Well, this was already proving to be a bit of a stalemate. Judging by the conversations, this was just everyday business for this pub's patrons, amid upturned tables and dimly lit darkness.

Jon Dromon had beckoned the other person to him, not surprised to find no footsteps coming his way, which meant that his opponent may have taken to his own cover.

Whatever the case, the Duros would not wait forever. The music returned to the establishment, but another tune played within this bounty hunter’s mind, and it was the sound of frontier pursuits.

Jon checked his person, and the other person that was his cargo. His makeshift shield had sent a plate of food on the floor, booze too, of which Dromon took the bottle to his lips for a swig.

“So, what’s your business with him?” Jon called across the pub.
“And what happened to his weapons?” Casual, simple questions.
He’d wait for an answer, though giving up was not Jon’s intention.
Regarding his bounty? Well, he also would not be giving Piper up.
