Caris was the brooding type. Not by nature really, but by reputation. His penchant for working alone and eschewing traditional Jedi worlds labeled him an outcast. A typical lightsaber first, questions later type of man. The truth was Caris didn’t brood…at least not much. He was a Shadow, and he took lives in the name of the Jedi. A dead Sith could not kill again but there was no hate in his heart. No secret pool of Darkness egging him forward. Caris was a Jedi…not a cliché. He did what was necessary for the good of the galaxy. Rarely, did he brood…except when his thoughts drifted to Ossus. An utter failure that deserved reproach. Ansion had been a small bite at redemption. It did not feel like enough. Now he had a second chance. Thankfully, Caris was not the particular leader of this mission. That distinction fell to Crix.

He had only one task. Redemption. The Resistance Fleet had engaged the Sith armada surrounding Ossus. As planned, they had lured the Imperial vessels to the nearby moons. With their cover in place, dropships with marines and mercenaries hurtled towards the massive Scourge of Agamar. They were mere seconds from boarding. Caris sat with his hands between his legs. His red sabered blade tucked into his sleeve. Anticipation built in the Force. He smiled and raised his hood. He did not brood but he did love an entrance.

Caris would wait for instructions from Crix but the three Jedi had a simple task. Find the bridge, locate the admiral, and politely ask for surrender. They were instructed to act through any means necessary. That was why Caris was brought. He would not find the necessary choices squeamish.

Edaara knew both of her companions. Caris she knew from Ansion, and Crix she knew from earlier on in this mission and a previous one. She was solemn but calm. She sat across from Caris, her hands in her lap and her back straight. Her indigo robes were freshly washed, and her blue saber was clipped to her belt.

Crix was once more in charge of this mission, and for that, Edaara was glad. Everyone on this ship was highly capable. Hopefully they would encounter no Sith, but that did not mean their mission might become messy. Edaara was known for being polite and diplomatic, even in battle; she had earned that reputation for a reason. She would definitely play her part in getting the admiral to surrender.

For now, she waited for Crix's orders.

Leadership sat heavy and Crix wasn't sure that he actually disliked it - maybe it was because he felt like he had grown up a lot more recently? Maybe it was something he had always had as part of his character but just not found out until recently? Maybe.

Maybe it didn't matter.

"Our forces have engaged... and the Sith have taken the bait."

The bait was literally a reasonably sized armada of ships performing a hit-and-run style attack so it made sense for them to go for it. After all, it was a literal attack against their occupation of Ossus. A conquered world and one Crix would see freed not for the Jedi or for the Resistance but for the locals to be free of any control but their own once more.

Their ship swung and moved through the air gracefully, alongside half a dozen like it. Some probably wouldn't make it to the ship at all but enough would. Ducking and weaving through fire from the ship they were approaching, the ship burst through into the hanger bay of the Imperial Star Destroyer and Crix stood at the door, both lightsabers in hand.

He breathed out.

"We make for the bridge - if they surrender, we knock them out. If they do not - we cut them down."

There could be no hesitation.

The doors of multiple boarding shuttles burst open and Crix charged out into the hanger bay to meet the frantic Imperial resistance as the marine forces they had prepared charged with them.

"FOR FREEDOM! FOR OSSUS!"

There would be no surrender today, only bloodshed...

Maelibus Alpha was aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer when the resistance and Jedi forces attacked it, bringing a sizeable portion of their naval legion in an attempt to subdue their Admiral and force a capture. Resistance armies would be met swiftly with Imperial Assault corps and IDF battalions, the troopers from both sides engaging in combat as blaster fire littered the hangar full of bright red and green flashes.

The Kaleesh however was slower in his approach, moving through the corridors as he had heard the distress signals overhead. Several soldiers followed closely behind him, reacting to his command as he signaled with his hand and deployed them into the Hangar to join the rest of the Sith Forces in pushing back their adversaries. As the black cloak fell from his shoulders, a barechested torso rippling with muscles was visible, along with comfortable pants and his trademark Maelibi skull helm. No other armor was worn with exception of cortosis woven hand/wrist gauntlets. Equipped arms including his twin lightsabers, one plasma grenade as well as the Westar-17 Blaster Rifle.

Maelibus Alpha checked the ammunition chamber, ensuring it was loaded and armed as he advanced into the hangar to confront the Jedi as they landed from the shuttle. Several boxes and large crates scattered through the platform, providing ample opportunities to break line of sight. For now, he nestled into cover, peeking to the side of crates to get a visualization on his opponents. Dark force aura coiled around his muscular figure, preparing it in anticipation for what would come next.

A sinister smile curled over his lips...

"Lets play..."

Asher was about to board this shuttle with a dozen of his Master's best men. Intending to inspect go down to the planet and inspect detention facilities on the surface. Then the resistance sprang their trap. Just as the force told him of the danger, enemy shuttles had managed to breach the hanger. To his amused surprise, the fob his Vex had given him back on Belsevis began to pulse and chirp.

The red armored detention forces would join the rest of the imperial ranks in fighting off the resistance marines as they charged out of their shuttles. The half-Sephi would march from the ramp of his shuttle to a singular purpose and determination.

As usual since his release from the prison where his former brothers and sisters left him to die, Asher was dressed in his black and grey armor. Black lightsaber hilt in his left hand, the dark side drawing into him as if he was drawing in a breath. The rest of his standard gear and weapons clipped to his utility belt.

"The Mirialun is mine." Asher commanded, as he activated his crimson blade.

Altair had helped take Ossus for the Sith in the first place. He would be here to defend it when the Jedi returned for it. The tiefling arrived after the others, the flood of Imperials already setting out to meet the Jedi that came into the hangar. He was adorned in his armor, (no cape)Matukai gloves on both arms. He didn’t have any weapons drawn, but he did have a collapsible wan-shen on his hip if needed.

The telltale horned helmet emerged and at least one of the Jedi would recognize him. Altair’s head tilted to regard Caris, the man that laid near death while Altair and Aadya enjoyed themselves mere feet away from him. There was a quiet, mechanized chuckle that erupted from the helmet, but he turned his gaze instead to regard the Zabrak. He marked his enemy then, channeling the Force to himself.

His tail swished behind him as Altair strode into the hangar, speaking into his comlink well before he was in range, “Secure the admiral and lock down all entrances leading towards the bridge.”

Altair made no attacks just yet, coming to a stop across Crix and eying his twin sabers, “A bit overkill, don’t you think?” The voice rang out dripping with sarcasm.

Edaara followed Crix and Caris off the transport into the hangar. Fire immediately opened and she could detect the presence of other Sith. So it appeared there would be more fighting than they originally thought.

Keeping her goal in mind, she deflected any blaster bolts that got too close, making her way towards the bridge. She noticed a champion (@Taz ) had set his sights on her and she sighed internally as he moved closer. Her saber was already out and in her hand, but she waited to ignite it.

The Force was a storm but that didn't mean he had to be buffeted around by its currents. As the Sith arrived to try and lock down the situation, Crix found himself being eyed by one of them in particular - at least he thought he was being eyed by him. The helmet was intimidating and rather awkward as far as Crix trying to tell where he was actually looking. The Force swirled through and around the Sith as it did the same to Crix, invigorating the Jedi as he channelled it.

With his lightsabers in hand, Crix grinned a little bit at the words before igniting both blades in front of him. The shoto held in his left as he ignited the blade of his main lightsaber, holding it firmly in his right hand.

"Says the Sith with horns the length of his arms."
he returned, eyebrow ridge raised, "Don't suppose you'd be open to surrendering the vessel and getting yourself into one of the escape pods would you?"

It was always worth a try.

One of these days a Sith was going to take him up on the offer and Crix wanted to make sure he was still offering it regularly for when that day came. That said, he didn't really think it was going to be this day. He offered the out instead of attacking immediately but he was already prepared for the answer to come in the form of violence.

The Jedi disembarked into the hangar. They had a precious few moments before blaster fire erupted around them. The Resistance forces quickly took defensive positions to return fire. What had he expected? A leisurely walk to the bridge? Of course, the familiar taint of the Sith followed shortly thereafter. They were all properly dramatic. All black armor, black robes, and skulls…and here Caris thought he was dramatic. Frustratingly one of the Sith was strikingly familiar. The same horned creature who had kicked his ass before. He frowned. Well, the Force was kind enough provided a second chance.

The hangar was quickly descending into chaos, but it was impossible to miss a 7-foot-tall bare-chested man wearing a goat skull striding into the room and then crouching behind a box. That was followed by exchanged pleasentries. Why was there always so much talking? Caris opted for a different introduction.

As he began to walk a few steps forward the Force burst from his left hand as the goat-man started to huddle down (@Faded). The crate he was behind went spinning toward the horned creature (@Sreeya). It was not particularly inventive, but the demon seemed focused on Crix which would hopefully district it enough to not see the heavy crate coming. The lovely goat-thing would suddenly be devoid of cover. Caris was careful to keep his eyes open for any sudden movements.

Maelibus Alpha had kept his sights clear, carefully scanning the combat zone as the three Jedi made themselves visible. A low grumble escaped through the mechanized scrambler of his helm, crosshairs aligning on his target as he pressed the trigger twice, firing upon the female Jedi. @Reylo4evr He attacked simultaneously as her focus was on his comrade and while she had no ignited lightsaber to defend with. The blaster rifle was in its heavy damage setting while the trajectory of bolts made it so a deflection back to one of other Sith would be unlikely.

The Kaleesh' eyes snapped to the side, catching notice of the other Jedi Knight who began to advance towards his location. He could feel a tug in the force around him, the crate's edges beginning to rattle as his adversary undeniably utilized his powers. He staggered backwards immediately as the crate went sliding past him but caused no damage to his flesh. Pressing off his left foot, Maelibus Alpha sprang into motion. Blaster rifle dropped to the ground with a clang as it was released from his grip. Instead, his crimson lightsaber replaced it, igniting to life as the Sith moved.

Dark pulsating orbs of force energy gathered around his left hand as he quickly gestured with a fist and yank; the force wrapped around Caris' torso and attempted to pull the Jedi towards him just as Maelibus Alpha rapidly closed into melee range. @Valen Pelora The Kaleesh was big and powerful, obsidian skin rippling with lean musculature adorned in the golden helm. Eyes flickered with a blood red hue, making the Sith Champion a terror inspiring sight.

Asher continued his treck across the hanger. Focused on female Jedi, but no so much as to leave himself vulnerable. As the half-Sephi slowly closed the distance between. Two shots would come from his skull faced companion, as well as a crate.

As the crate flew in the general direction of his companions, and his men. Asher quickly reached out with his right hand. Snatching the crate with an invisible tendril of the force, and then flinging it toward the female Jedi (@Reylo4evr ). The intent was merely to keep the crate from striking another Sith or Imperial. However, as the Mirialun was also dealing with incoming blaster fire. It would be difficult for her to avoid all three projectiles.

As he did this, the half-Sephi never broke stride. Continuing to close the distance with his enemy. If she managed to survive the attack, Asher would likely be on her in the next several seconds.

“Don’t be jealous 'cause mine are bigger than yours,” Altair quipped back simply. If the Jedi had nothing better to offer than attempting to dig at traits Altair was simply born with, the tiefling already won the banter portion of the fight. The Jedi made no move to attack just yet and Altair would continue toying until he did so. The others were already engaged and he wouldn’t muddle things up anymore. His focus was on the Zabrak, but he was perfectly alert of everything else going on around him.

The moment he spoke, he coiled the Force around one of the soldiers that had arrived with the Jedi. With Crix having his blades in front of him, it created the perfect landing zone. In a flash, the soldier was tossed abruptly and unexpectedly right into where Crix held his ignited blades, the goal being to carve up the soldier or to send the soldier trucking into him regardless.

Altair did nothing else beyond that, fully prepared to act on Crix as he was engaged with this new variable.

In the next few seconds three things were coming for Edaara. Two bolts fired by a strange looking goat man, and then a flying crate that the other Sith charging her sent flying. There was a split second where everything seemed to slow down. Not wasting any time, Edaara reached out both with her arm and her lightsaber, reflecting the bolts towards Asher and the incoming crate. His side was left open while he was busy changing the direction of the flying crate.

The bolts she had redirected hit the crate close to Asher. The crate exploded noisily. She turned back towards the dark-haired champion, awaiting what he would do next.

Caris watched the large Sith dance backward from the crate. He struck again. As the Kaleesh dropped the rifle and began to spring forward, Caris rapidly worked the Force. They were still across the hangar from one another which gave Caris adequate time to react. Quickly, the Force wrapped around the horns and crown of the beast’s helmet.

With a flick the horns and helmet twisted rapidly and powerfully left to right as Caris sought to break the creature’s neck before it ever took another step. Since the beast was rushing forward and preparing to use the Force, the suddenness of the attack would make it difficult to predict. Even more difficult to defend. The need to try and prevent his neck from breaking would hopefully stop the Sith in his tracks to prevent the coming working of the Force.

If it did not, Caris would dance a few steps backward, funneling the Force through his body to resist the yank. His yellow bladed Lightsaber coming to life in his right hand regardless. His muscles groaning if his body was forced to react.

The Sith quipped back but Crix was more taken by the strangely high-pitched yelp of surprise from one of the marines as he was bodily lifted and thrown toward Crix's front - specifically his lightsabers. Thankfully it was on a bit of a curve and right in his eye-line considering the planned landing zone.

Using the Force that he had been channelling, Crix Pulled the man off the expected trajectory, throwing his left arm to the left, so that he would continue to fly more to Crix's left - sending the man barrelling into the left side of Asher just as he was moving forward from manipulating the crate, close to when it was exploding. Body weight was no small thing but he was a powerful enough Jedi to direct it and he was hopeful that Asher would be otherwise occupied when the man arrived.

The change of the body's movement was a relatively simple thing and he kept his eyes on Altair. Answer enough to his call to surrender he supposed. Crix would take a step forward and fling his left arm back forward, throwing his shoto lightsaber directly at Altair's midsection in a controlled horizontal spin. No drawn weapons and mis-matched hand-armour led him to believe that the Sith had something up his sleeves - he wanted to try and figure out what it was before it bit him in the backside.

Asher was no stranger to combat. He hand thrown the crate at the female Jedi in with a simple redirection. His own will over the force essentially redirecting the momentum of the other Jedi's attack that threw the create in the first place. It took little effort and did not leave him exposed what so ever. His blade was still at the ready in his left hand, the dark side once more coiling around him as he tried to close with the green skinned Jedi Knight.

However his target was not as lucky, nor as good as she thought she was. It APPEARED that her intention was to redirect the the bolt's toward Asher, the crate however got in the way. One bolt slamming the center of the duraplaste box, the other grazing catching a corner. The crate would absorb the shots and keep trucking to the Jedi, slamming into her. As it was not filled with ordinance or fuel cells it would not explode as the Jedi had hoped.

Asher was still facing in the direction of all three Jedi. Even in the chaos it was not hard to see a young soldier screaming for his life as he was first thrown by the invisible will of his chosen enemy, and then by the will of his supposed ally. Dead weight might have been a small taste. But a living breathing scared young marine was anything but easy to toss like a rag doll.

The former Jedi simply halted into a defensive stance shifting his footing just slightly to face the living projectile, blade before him already. Hilt to down so the meter long crimson blade was up and slightly forward. The screaming marines came in horizontal, and the Sith Champion cut him in half. Letting the blade as the man's momentum do all the work. True he body would still graze his armored body, but it was little more then a punch to both arms and being pushed back a foot or two.

Anger and betrayal surged in the half-Sephi. As he once looked up to Jedi like Crix. Vex was right. Now he understood completely just how hypocritical the Jedi had become, why he had suffered for so long. The dark side still coiled within him, Asher drew a ball of red ichor to his right hand. Then threw the Hex Bolt at Crix's out stretched left arm and shoulder, just as the Jedi's shoto was in flight, heading toward the other Champion. The obvious intent was to strike as the Zabrak was focused on Altair.

@Reylo4evr @Nefieslab @Sreeya @Faded

OOC Note: After some discussion with the team, the edits still read a little vague and the crate defense was deemed inadequacy according to pvp rules. Crate hitting @Edaara Tonor is an auto hit.

Altair was more than a little surprised to see the Jedi throw one of his own men towards a Sith and into certain death. In fact, a few other troopers that arrived with the Jedi noticed this and saw their comrade butchered. Seeds of doubt began to build within the soldiers as some questioned whether to keep fighting and dying for an ally that would so senselessly throw them to the wolves. At least one man would stop shooting Imperials and retreat back.

The tiefling was also curious about how the Zabrak refused to close the distance, but he didn’t mind either way. As the shoto came towards him, it flew briefly before Altair grasped a hold of it with the Force and redirected the trajectory. It was sent sailing towards the Jedi that had just been slammed by the crate and likely dazed or lying in a heap. The shoto would stab right through her likely before she could orient herself from the crate.

Altair had full line of sight on Crix and could adjust and adapt to whatever he would do as a result. Regardless, simultaneously he coiled the Force around Crix’s neck, compressing into a choke as he would likely be dealing with the hex bolt.

So the Jedi were cowards... It was the only thought that ran through his mind as Caris launched his attack, an attempt to further pause the inevitable and keep the Kaleesh from reaching melee range.

Maelibus Alpha felt the pressure wrap around the crown of his helmet, however, instead of fighting it, he simply went along with the direction of the first twist, stepping into his own left and thus nullifying its damage. The rightward snap would be met with his own musculature resistance, hence pausing him in his advance momentarily as his muscles tightened to lessen the impact of the force attack. It was painful but nothing more than a sprain running down his right trapezius, commonly felt in heavy weight lifting sessions.

The interrupt attempt was not capable of fully counteracting his own force pull, and the Kaleesh had not broken line of sight on his target. As Caris resisted the yank, Maelibus took advantage of the Jedi's own footwork. As Caris backpedaled, he simply focused the coils on his opponents' legs, attempting to yank them out from in front of him as he moved backwards. @Valen Pelora The rapid change in direction along with Caris' funneling of his own force energies would make it difficult for him to stop from landing on his arse. Unwelcoming metal hangar grounds awaited him, likely causing soft tissue damage upon impact. Maelibus Alpha timed this attack simultaneously to Altair's re-directing of the Shoto, making it difficult for Caris to lend aid to his comrade in need.

Maelibus Alpha continued his advance, closing the physical distance between them. Lightsaber held defensively while pulsating orbs of dark force energies culminated around his left hand in preparation. The barechested warrior proudly flexed his pectorals, taunting his Jedi opponent in a traditionally haughty and confrontational manner.

The Sith may have stopped his neck from snapping but the pause gave Caris an opening. Caris’ working of the Force had not centered on the creature itself but rather the object. He released the Force as he met resistance. When the Sith paused to strain, Caris struck.

He rushed forward to confront the Sith. His speed enhanced by the Force. His blade flashed out as he closed the gap. Tip pointed down, swinging from his right side to left shoulder. Aiming to cut the beast from left hip to right breast.

Should the Sith avoid the blade or chose working the Force over certain death. Caris would simply root his feet to the hangar floor. His momentum had shifted and while his bones ached and muscles groaned it would be enough for now. His senses remaining splayed wide in case the tide shifted.

Everything else could wait.

Every regret, every second thought and every second he would have spent hesitating? They could all wait. Wait until he was either successful, dead, captured or escaped. There would be time enough to examine himself and question just what he had done and if it was right. If there were better ways to do things he could feel about them later.

Every emotion could wait - there was only the moment.

Altair would attempt to fling the shoto saber toward Edaara with a quick application of the Force but it would find little purchase - Crix still controlled his shoto saber as it spun in flight, having never let his concentration slip from it to better control the spin. In a brief battle of power between the Champion, who seemingly did not expect Crix to still be actively controlling the shoto, and Crix? The shoto would slow for a second but not stop, continuing on its path to Altair now unopposed and leaving the Sith Champion very little time to react as he immediately after swapped to a Choke attempt while the shoto barrelled on at him.

With Asher still in his line of sight, Crix was able to maintain sight of the shoto and his control of it through the Force even as he lowered his left arm and slashed over it horizontally with his main saber, slamming the blade into the red haze of the hex bolt and dissipating it with a shock that ran up the length of his arm and shook his body into taking a step back.

If Altair persisted in the Choke attempt despite the shoto being upon him, Crix would jerk slightly, the hold establishing for a worrying second before he could split his attention and shatter the hold around his neck with a pulse of the Force, allowing him to take another breath as he would move forward toward both Altair and Asher with his main saber still up defensively.
