Incidentally, it was never a question of how ethical the young Morrigan Cesare's lifestyle was for those around him, but instead how the boy seemingly garnered such wealth out of the most impoverished of peoples. The answer to that question; although easily conceivable now, would continue to evade both the other thieves in Ord Mantell City but also Cesare himself. It wasn't until the battles of Raithal and Castell and the beginning of Jedi domination in Republic Space that it was finally deduced that the Mantellian was much more special than originally presumed. He was force sensitive; that much was obvious.
The Knight's introduction to the Jedi Order was crude at best and rudimentary at worse. Whilst the Jedi Civil War continued to rage on in the northeastern sector of the Mid Rim: various different Jedi Emissaries led expeditions to major planets in the Mid Rim which had remained untouched for over a decade due to Exile occupation. Now aged thirteen, Cesare met the now deceased Jedi Master Killian Trapar; a male Hapan who would later meet their end at the Tragedy at Ilum. Through grace and charisma Master Traper managed to convince the insular and seemingly content Mantellian to focus his force sensitivity to the Light Side of the Force. Thus; his journey as a Jedi began.
Unfortunately for Cesare: he was far too old to begin training as a Youngling and far too inexperienced to join those of his similar age in training. There was only a single option for someone of his caliber with ambitions to become a Jedi; an exceptionally rigorous and dangerous training course that would toe the line between Jedi and Exile and would take up to two years to complete. Never one to back down from a challenge: Morrigan accepted, and thusly was transported to the Jedi Temple on Jedha to begin his journey inwards.
Temple records are vague as to the training that Jedi Knight Morrigan Cesare underwent: many incident reports describe him as rambunctious and turbulent, whilst Jedi Master Killian Trapar's training notes place him along a much more complex line. He referred to the Mantellian as a so-called "diamond in the rough", untapped but more than able to unleash his full potential.
By 6919 BBY, Morrigan had finished his Knight Trials and was ceremoniously knighted by one of the most important people in life, Jedi Master Killian Trapar. Whether for good or bad the Jedi Order wasted no time in utilizing their recently knighted graduates. Both professor and student alike were chosen to be reassigned from the safety of the Jedha Temple walls to the battle fields in the Mid Rim. Among those reassigned were Master Trapar and Jedi Knight Cesare. The duo proved to be a lethal pair and fought shoulder-to-shoulder during the Mid Rim campaign.
Unfortunately; their partnership came crumbling to pieces during what seemed to be penultimate battle of the war. The Battle at Ilum. What neither could predict came to be: the Exiles had perfected the art of mass destruction. Very few were spared during the tragedy, of those few, Cesare was one.
He vowed to avenge the vainful deaths of his friends and idols and pledged his loyalty to the Jedi Shadow sect; determined to destroy the single largest enemy in the Galaxy. From then on; the Knight went off the grid. The underworld heard rumors of a grey cloaked Clocoa who killed Jedi Exiles unceremoniously and without restraint: although many were disregarded and presumed to be different people. In reality: it is more likely than not that Morrigan Cesare was the Jedi Knight behind their deaths.
Following a year of uninterrupted assassination, study, and self discovery: Jedi Knight Morrigan Cesare returned to a Jedi Order that he barely recognized. Now, much more mature, much more experienced, and much more ready: he was determined to help return the Jedi Order to it's former glory.

However, whilst many historians focus on the darker side of who Morrigan Cesare was: there are still scrawlings of kindness, fortitude, and honor; and although he was considered by many to be a darker Jedi in a lighter disguise, the Mantellian followed a strict ethical code, as strange as that sounds. It seemed that relentless study sessions with the late Jedi Master Killian Trapar had at least instilled some amount of humanity within bitterness and anger. Beyond that, Morrigan was exceptionally charismatic and in a metaphorical sense; could've charmed the pearls off a Krayt dragon.
Fickleness and clumsiness were among his most major yet most uncompromising vices. The man couldn't keep a straight grip on things if he tried and was more than well known for changing his loyalties at the drop of a hundred credits. However; what he didn't collapse in on was his belief that the Jedi Order was the catalyst that would lead to the Galaxy for millennia. There was little that could shake Morrigan Cesare's belief that the Jedi Order was truly good and he was intent on keeping it that way through whatever means was necessary.

Some said that Democracy was power, but to Imperial Republica, Democracy was meerly a disguise that was carefully crafted to conceal its worst crimes and its failures. The members of the Senate were among some of the most privlidged, yet worst people in the galaxy. Many had no interest in serving their planet or its people, and when it came down to it, most were just after an extra paycheque.
Dahlia Shah was different; born in the year 469 ABC, she was the Senator for Chandrila during the period often referred to as the "Sith Civil War". Like many other members of the Senate, Shah was born into a life of privilege as the only child of the corrupt Mayor of Hanna City. The now Senator of Chandrila was pampered like a princess, was treated to a life of royalty due to her father's immense wealth and influence. He continued to poorly lead Hanna City for over twenty years, fifteen years past the designated term-limit.
Once she had grown older, Dahlia came to realize that her father was an evil man hellbent on destroying democracy and ruining the lives of those who opposed him. She quickly distanced herself from him, throwing his money back into his face, and no longer appearing at his campaign events. She was no longer his "pretty princess", but was a fierce warrior who would destroy his every ounce of life.
Dahlia's decision to leave her fathers money behind led to her foundation as a minor Chandrilan celebrity. She found support among the lowest classes of Chandrilan society, and through them decried his actions. She campaigned against him for many years, but it wasn't until his death in 498 ABC that she finally found herself free of his grasp. Although Hanna City was still a corrupt rancorhole, his death led to the election of new members of the city council, and her election to Senator of Chandrila.
As a newly elected member to the Imperial Senate, Dahlia attempted to push quality reform legislation, but often found it being shut down by more senior Senators or vetoed after it had passed. She found herself alienated from many other leaders, and only found respite in a select few disgruntled members.

Dahlia was what you would call "lawful good". She truly believed that everyone was born to be good, but the evil in the Galaxy was what drove them away from their destiny of heart. She was not interested in petty politics, but only the improvement of the lives of her constituents and the lives of all people in Imperial Republica. Although raised to be commanding and ruthless, she had developed a personality of kindness and respect.

Ever since she was a young girl, Aria could always recall the sound father's voice and the soft-spoken words he ushered in her ears. She was reminded of the salty fragrance of his breath, and the light touch he had on her skin. Their lives, distant from the havoc of Pols Anaxes, was very simple, but a life that was not spent serving was a life not worth living. If there was one thing that Anaxi's put over anything else, it was service.
Born in the year 477 ABC on the planet of Anaxes, Aria Vandeen was a Sith Knight who lived and fought during the Sith Civil War for Imperial Republica. Raised by a single fisherman with three younger brothers, Aria was always groomed to be not just the strongest in her class, but the strongest in her family as well. When she turned eighteen, Aria applied to and was admitted to the Anaxes War College, the most prominent officer academy in the galaxy and a prestigious institution nonetheless. There, she heard from some of the brightest militarily minded flag officers in the Sith Empire, and quickly picked up concepts such as logistics and tactics.
Although she was more than capable inside the classroom, the location where Aria truly excelled, and the locatin where she first revealed her colors was the training field. She had impeccable aim, was seemingly unnaturally strong for someone of her petite stature, and had all the markings of a force sensitive. When she was discovered, there was no option but attendance to the Sith Academy on Coruscant. Now that she was no longer the best in her class, the strongest, or the smartest, it became a struggle to surrive. From the beginning, it seemed as though she might just fail, but through hard work and the occasional cheat, she crawled her way out of the Sith Academy.
As a newly graced Sith Acolyte and someone of lower blood, Aria was not strong and she was not influential. Only time would tell if there was a future for her on the horizon, but with tensions brewing in the outer rim, it only seemed like a matter of time before bloodshed would finally find its way onto her blade.

PERSONALITY
Some people may have said that Aria Vandeen was not cut out for the life of a Sith. Although she had all the necessary qualifications and drive, she was much too kind, and struggled to rationalize the fear and hatred that the dark side expected. That isn't to say that Aria Vandeen was characteristically "nice", but simply "nice" in comparison to her fellow Sith. She subscribed to a theory that violence was not the only solution, and that change was the only option when corruption permeated the Galaxy.

Three years since I last floated writing on here again! Probably not an apt name for the thread, and it's funny to look back at these old characters I was drafting; it's really easy to tell where the inspiration came from looking back retroactively.
Pleasantly impressed with how I was able to use Artbreeder to make a reasonable Pantoran character (see below). Eye color editing on there isn't ideal though, and if I had a photoshop subscription (and skills lol) I could probably edit in the tattoos and proper eye color. But not bad I think! It's also disappointing that Artbreeder doesn't have a functional background system, but I guess with the way the AI is created it would be difficult for that effect to not bleed into the portrait design itself.

BIOGRAPHY
Waylin Balif was a Jedi Knight who lived during the Force Eternal era. Born on the moon Pantora in 121 ABY, Waylin was orphaned at a young age and chooses not to bear the same golden tattoos as his ancestors. Brought to the jungle temple of Ajan Kloss where he trained a Jedi Youngling before falling under the tutelage of Mon Calamari Jedi Master Kolzah Balif, taking her name as his own in a sign of good faith.
Waylin was present at the first Battle of Ajan Kloss in late 140 ABY, serving alongside Master Balif who would lose her life in the conflict. Able to escape at the cost of his master's life, Waylin returned to the planet alongside the remaining Jedi forces in an attempt to retake the temple. In the heat of battle, Waylin's left arm was severed above the elbow, rendering him incapacitated for the remainder of the Jedi's humiliating defeat, and was remanded to the Yavin IV temple until he was fitted with a cybernetic replacement later that year. His experience at Ajan Kloss was deemed to be sufficient for partial completion of his Knighthood trials, and after becoming more familiar with his cybernetic replacement, Waylin was later knighted.
Originally operating as a Justicar in the Yavin IV Temple, the Pantoran assisted with the relocation to the Temple on the Staion Brighthome, and continues to serve as an arm against corruption at perhaps the Order's lowest moment in recent memory. Older than many other Knights and yet to take a Padawan learner, Waylin has dedicated himself to intense self-introspection and meditation, favoring an inconspicuous reputation among his counterparts.

As a Justicar, Waylin appears well-tempered and soft-spoken. Prior instructors and companions have considered Waylin incredibly inflexible in spite of the loyalty and obedience he shows toward others. In truth, he is a skillful orator and is incredibly proficient at cultivating a lawful moral compass, though in private his ethics are sufficiently flexible when contrasted with the Tenants he is tasked to uphold and enforce.
In general, Waylin is patient and kind, recklessness stamped out by decades of bloodshed and scarring. He endeavors to impart wisdom to others, but refrains from teaching, perhaps as a result of the trauma he experienced as a Padawan. While not prone to the dark side, Waylin's faith in the Order and its current direction have been shaken by recent events that threaten the stability of the galaxy, and while he might not share his concerns publically, in private he is anxious about the future.

SKILLS
Battle tested, much of Waylin's strength as a Jedi Knight is sourced from his skill with the lightsaber. Highly proficient at Jar'Kai, this Jedi is a particularly dangerous duelist, but in scenarios without two blades, his proficiency reduces drastically. His tendency to be overly reliant on the defensive nature of Form III when reduced to one blade is perhaps his largest weakness as a duelist, and it is what cost him an arm in 140 ABY.
Though his connection and expertise with the Force is comparably weak, Waylin remains a fully-trained Jedi Knight and is a capable investigator.
