BIOGRAPHY
Being the first son of Almaryc Brentioch and Beatrix Brentioch (née Dajaal), Caledan was groomed since he was a child to one day inherit the title of Seneschal of House Brentioch. He studied politics, had military training and also learned how to administrate the family trade guilds.
When young, Caledan was considered a kind, idealistic, reasonable and sensible man. He was also considered very handsome, with many young noblewomen desiring to marry with him. However, after his arranged marriage with Livilla Tannaras he changed completely, becoming irascible, intolerant and tyrannical. Their marriage never was happy, even after the birth of their two sons. Caledan had several mistresses and all died under mysterious circumstances, but he never cared, they were only playthings for him.
There were rumors that Caledan only loved one person, a commoner named Alix. They planned to flee Brentaal before the day of his marriage with Livilla, but something happened. The plan didn't happen and Alix disappeared. Some consider it as the reason why he changed so much.
Caledan was always cold and demanding to his sons, but he was worse with Tristodd. He used to pressure him to study more and more, never giving him much time for himself. When his younger son did something that he disliked, Caledan would scream with him. During these moments, if Tristodd tried to talk, his father would slap him in the face, sometimes drawing blood from the boy. Due to this, Tristodd fears Caledan and tries to do anything to have his acceptance.
