With the new timeline coming up I have a few questions regarding what is canon at this point. The "First Sith" timeline is set approximately 5000 years before the "Dawn of the Republic" timeline according to Clayton's announcement. His announcement also states the timeline takes place after a war that is nearly 100 years. Is that the Hundred-Year Darkness? Is that even canon now? Are the Exiles these guys and their followers?

I'm returning to the community after being gone for quite a while. I'm a bit rusty, so if this ends up being a "duh!" thing please be gentle.

Bonus Question: Protosabers. Are they what's used now?

1. The First Sith timeline will be set near the ending of the conflict that is/will be known as "The Hundred Year Darkness". As of right now in Disney Canon, which is what the site draws from, the Hundred Year Darkness has merely been named, but not detailed in any way. As you can imagine this gives us an incredible amount of freedom to take the period and make it our own!

2. As far as who the Exiles are... no not really. We have drawn some influence from Legends but for the most part they will be our own version for players to mold and shape as they see fit, assuming they put in the work and stories to do such shaping.

3. We will be using regular lightsabers. If you want to use a protosaber im sure nobody will stop you, though they have their obvious disadvantage.

Hope that answers any questions you might have.

What does that mean for double bladed lightsabers since the concept was created by Exar Kun?

Exar Kun is not canon, and even if he were I don't think we would ever limit the kind of lightsabers people could use.

Something to do in the future if anyone has doubts like this, search the topic you're wondering about on Google and open up the Wookiepedia link. That's the Star Wars wiki, www.starwars.wikia.com, and will have all the info about whatever topic you want. If the article has "Legends" written on the top of the page, or has a legends tag somewhere, then that stuff isn't canon anymore and we most probably don't use it here. But if the article has a canon tag on the top, or has another tab titled "Canon", then that's what you need to read. And that's what we are using.

Now there are cases where we might be using/allowing things from Legends, like planet names or species, but 90% of the time if it's legends then it's not what we use and that should answer your question. Unless it's about lightsabers, for lightsabers we don't really enforce rules like this color isn't allowed or that sort of lightsaber was invented by someone who isn't a canon character anymore. Unless its OP in some way you can use whatever lightsaber you want.
