DESCRIPTION
Manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards for the Galactic Empire, the Cantwell-class Arrestor Cruiser is known for it's arrowhead design and the three large dishes on it. The Cantwell class cruiser was designed in mind to patrol restricted areas, to control traffic in space, and be able to use it's three powerful tractor beam projectors to ensnare suspect ships in a vice-like grip so that they can be arrested.

With it's signature tri-heavy tractor beam projectors, it can ensnare almost any ship from lowly starfighters and light freighters up to heavy cruisers and bulk freighters. Not only can they stop them and pull them in, the tractor beams are powerful enough to push them away and manipulate their orientation (although with increasing amount of time needed the larger the ship). While on patrol, the typical method of operation is to catch a suspect ship with it's tractor beams should they not comply, move them in a favorable position so they can be fired upon with the Cantwell's ion cannons so that the ship would be disabled, then the defenseless disabled suspect ship can either be boarded or dragged into either of the ships two hangar bays with impunity. With a compliment of two squadrons worth of starfighters, they can give chase at the suspect as well.

The Arrestor Cruiser has docking bays with hull-cutting tools, or it can send a boarding shuttle after the suspect craft. The Cantwell boasts a huge passenger capacity, letting it carry a huge number of troops, letting them board even large capital ships with sufficient number of troops, and hold a large amount of detainees in cells.

A potent capture ship, the Arrestor Cruiser is best on patrols rather than used as a warship on the front lines in a pitched as it would fare poorly in a straight up slugfest. Despite the Cantwell class having a great track record of arresting suspect starships after catching them with their tractor beams, it is possible for extremely crafty pilots/crews to be able to resist or even escape from what would be certain capture.

After the reign of the empire, the Arrestor Cruisers have fallen mostly out of use, some were repurposed for the fledgling New Republic, a lot of them kept in storage, or ended up in salvage. Although there are some planets in the Core Worlds that have these as part of their planetary defense forces. Some improvised use can be found for these ships as well, such as using them as troop transports from world to world.

LEGALITY
Restricted. these ships are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities. Even then, they are expensive to operate and require a large crew to operate especially at optimal capacity.

INTENT
To import the Cantwell class from Andor to our site canon. (pedia page has Andor spoilers)

RESTRICTIONS
These are large capital ships, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size.
