Ramail Lone was a Mandalorian mercenary and bounty hunter active in the Force Eternal era. Born aboard a starship and raised in an abandoned mining colony in the Bimmiel asteroid field, Ramail fell in naturally with the lifestyle of a nomadic Mandalorian hired gun. Whether as a mercenary or a bounty hunter, the young Zabrak accepted any type of job - even contract killing - as long as it fit in with her Mandalorian way of life. Known to her few friends and acquaintances as a being of few words, Ramail nonetheless weaved in and out of many beings' lives on her search for a meaningful cause to dedicate her time and energy to.

By 72 ABY, Clan Lone - the Mandalorian clan that Ramail was born into - had like so many other Mandalorian clans faded into obscurity. The tribe that Ramail's parents (Zabrak bounty hunters Kolm and Inis) belonged to consisted at the time of Ramail's birth of less than thirty members, a number that diminished steadily throughout Ramail's childhood as the tribe's members died on the job as bounty hunters or in the service of a small-time warlord somewhere in the Galaxy. The young Zabrak learned early on to trust only in her clan and others who lived by the Resol’nare. It seemed like the rest of the Galaxy's inhabitants were hell-bent on stamping the Mandalorian remnants out. Ramail’s parents were both strict adherents of the Mandalorian Way, and Ramail's upbringing was therefore quite traditional and brutal. It wasn't so that one was strict and the other was kind; Kolm and Inis took turns at being the strict, whilst the other was there to pick Ramail back up if the first had treated her harsh. However, the harshness was never apologised for; a Mandalorian needed to be able to take a beating, physical and mental, in order to survive a brutal existence in a brutal galaxy. The Mandalorian Way was not the only thing her parents taught Ramail, though; from her mother, especially, the love of history, myths, legends, and stories was passed down.

Ramail's parents were often gone for long stretches of time, and during these times of absence, the clan took on an even greater role as family and educator of Ramail; as were the case with all other foundlings whose parents disappeared, sometimes periodically, other times permanently, for one reason or the other. This instilled in Ramail a strong sense of duty to her clan, of loyalty to those that are loyal to her, of unconditional support to those she would count among her friends.

After she had passed her verd'goten at the age of fourteen, Ramail started working as a bounty hunter with her parents. Most of the money they earned went to the clan, which had by that time shrunk to three families, less than a dozen individuals. With every passing year, she adds new pieces of beskar, alum, and other armour pieces of different metals to her beskar'gam. A mix of colours grey, black, maroon, and orange adorn her beskar'gam according to Clan Lone's tradition.

Ramail would divide her time between bounties, leisure trips to long-forgotten planets of lost treasures and artifacts, seeking ever a true purpose to her life beyond that of the mere subsistence of the clan.

Ramail is quite tall and stocky for her species and gender, as broad across the shoulders as the hips. She is not very agile, but she makes up for that in strength, dexterity, great bodily awareness, and intuition; she knows how to play to her strengths. Her face is oblong with prominent bone structure around the jawline and the cheekbones. Her eyes are dark and contemplative; there's always going more on in her mind than she lets on through speech. Her cranial horns are relatively small and scattered in two halo-shapes, one leading from the temples and back, another from right above her ears and back. Her black hair is long and often braided so as to easily stash it away underneath her helmet.

More a pragmatist than a zealot in her approach to life, Ramail was nonetheless a sworn enemy of the Jedi and the Sith who had taken turns to beat the once-proud Mandalorian culture into submission. Her distrust in Force-users went as far as to include anyone with a connection to that wretched mystical power, putting her at odds with members of her fellow Mandalorian clan, Clan Rytt. Furthermore, her traditionalist views could cause some discomfort with those Mandalorians that eschewed a more moderate view on what it meant to be a Mandalorian.

In spite of her conservative and some would say pessimistic outlook on her existence, Ramail was also very curious by nature – something that was often in conflict with the more conservative part of her personality. Alien cultures, foreign languages, long-forgotten stories and myths – they all called for Ramail like a bloody mind trick, and against her best judgment she tended to answer. Her curiosity would sometimes place her in situations where her staunchly Mandalorian norms were challenged. And although her mind was rarely changed, it would give her a broader lens with which to view her fellow beings of the Galaxy.

Rao-Jor

f21b4971297f686fb9e6eec82a6e20b7cb8d5900.png

Biography

Rao-Jor was a Zabrak male Jedi whose life played out during the Force Eternal era. Brought up as a foundling with a Mandalorian clan and inducted into the Jedi Order in his early teens in the early days of the resurfacing Sith, Rao-Jor's life was destined to be fraught with conflict both external and internal.

Rao-Jor was born on an unnamed planet in the Outer Rim. Together with his ten years older sister, Ramail, he survived the onslaught of war that razed their village, rescued by Mandalorian mercenaries as he lay (only an infant) in his sister's arms. Certain that their parents had perished, the Mandalorians brought the siblings with them back to their clan, where they were brought up as foundlings. Whilst Ramail would be able to remember her years outside of the Mandalorian Clan for the rest of her life, Rao-Jor was too young to have memories thereof. He only ever knew the Mandalorian way of life. However, of the two of them, Rao-Jor was the most troubled, and he never fully committed to the tenets of the Mandalorians.

He wasn't aware of his Force-sensitivity until he was old enough to accompany Ramail on travels outside of the abandoned mining colony in the asteroid belt near Bimmiel that Clan Lone used as a headquarters. Rifling his hands through fields of tall grasses, listening to the rustling of forest foliage or the breaking of ocean waves on distant planets, his attunement to the Force that gave life to everything was made apparent to him, although he was still unable to properly interpret it. He was, however, intrigued by it, so he started investigating it and feeling into it whenever he had the chance to do so, away from the prying eyes of his Clan. Having grown up with the stories of past wars between Mandalorians and Force-users known as the Jedi, Rao-Jor eventually deducted that this sensation of his might have something to do with the Force so heavily despised by his fellow Mandalorians. As he entered his teenage years, he grew ever more disillusioned with the Mandalorian way of life, realising that it did - could not - condone the part of him that was attached to the Force.

Eventually, he felt he needed to tell someone. So he confided in his sister. She did not take it well. She told him to suppress it, to never speak to anyone about it, and to forsake this part of him. Rao-Jor felt betrayed. He had not chosen the life of a Mandalorian; it had been put on him by others. In time, he came to realise that he did not have to commit to this life. That he had a choice. So, during a trip with his sister to a system not far from the clan's colony, he made himself lost in the buzzling spaceport, and chartered a flight out of there.

He didn't go to the Jedi immediately. Instead, he wandered the Galaxy for a year, earning just enough credits to get by, sometimes stealing his way on to starships that would carry him further towards the Core. By coincidence, he ran into a Jedi Knight on a spacestation in the Mid Rim who sensed the turmoil within him. It took a lot of convincing, but the Jedi eventually persuaded Rao-Jor to go with him to Coruscant, where he was initiated into the Order.

Having spent two years as an Initiate, learning the basics of the Jedi way of life, Rao-Jor is now ready to become a Padawan Learner - if he can find a master. He has never spoken to anyone in the Order about his past with the Mandalorians.

Personality

Rao-Jor’s Mandalorian upbringing is very apparent in the way he approaches life. He is disciplined, structured, more likely an early arrival to an event than a latecomer. He is meticulously dressed, his personal hygiene is on point, and his appearance is well-kept. Beating around the bush is not his way of dealing with problems or conflicts with other people; he gives it to people straight if he feels like they have wronged him. Conversely, he is just as straight and honest when he is the one owing an apology to someone else. In these areas, Rao is quite unlike other sentients of his age. The chaos in the everyday practices normally surrounding youths like him is absent; in its place are routines more akin to those of adults that have already established the practical cornerstones upholding their everyday life.

On an internal level, however, Rao-Jor (like most youths) has his issues. His relationship with his Force-sensitivity and his affiliation with the Jedi – a culture that has been a rival of the Mandalorians since time immemorial – is naturally quite troubled. He is still not owning and accepting this part of his being fully. Years of indoctrination against Force-users did that to him. He is suppressing a large part of himself, and because of that he carries strong emotions with him, emotions that he does not fully know how to handle yet. There is potential for both light and dark in him, and whether he sticks the Jedi landing or falls will depend on whether he learns to accept and process the things he is suppressing. He is strong-willed and has a tendency to latch on to certain ideas – certain lenses with which to view the universe around him – and hunker down, unwilling to give ground or sue for peace. This part of him is especially strong, not just because of his youthfulness, but also because of the ideologies he has been surrounded by his entire life – first as a member of Clan Lone, then as an Initiate of the Jedi Order.

Dhari Rast

Dhari Rast was a female Mirialan Force-sensitive smuggler working primarily for the Hutt Cartel in the Force Eternal era. Formerly an Acolyte of the Sith Order, Rast struggled with finding her place in the Galaxy, unbound by philosophy and dogma. She was a bit of an adrenaline junky, enjoying such hobbies as hover-skiing, speeder racing, and playing Sabacc.
Biography

Dhari was born on Mirial, but most of her life was spent on various research station on the border to the Unknown Regions. Her parents were Mirialan cartographers working on mapping those areas for the Free Worlds Alliance. Both of them were Force-sensitive, albeit not as attuned as their daughter would later prove to be. Following the Mirialan tradition of revering the Force and its importance to their culture, they made sure that Dhari was aware of her connection to the mystical power.

Growing up on the fringes of society and in sometimes quite inhospitable environments necessitated learning how to survive and thrive outside of the comforts of the Galaxy’s ecumenopolises. Dhari was taught how to fly both planetary aircraft and spacecraft, and her parents’ attention to detail and cartographic skills rubbed off on her. It also meant that Dhari didn’t have many peers around her when she as growing up, which spawned an urge in her to seek new friends wherever she went.

Paramount to her story, though, was her induction into the secretive organization that later revealed itself to be the resurgent Sith Order. Accompanying her parents on a trip to an outlying system in the Unknown Regions, she became separated from the on a planet and was apprehended by a Sith who had been searching for Dark Side artefacts. Recognizing Dhari’s significant presence in the Force, the Sith decided to abduct her, break her, and recreate her as his Acolyte.

For years, she toiled under her Master while the Sith Eternal neared the time when they would reveal themselves to the Galaxy. So much hurt and anger and fear was cultivated in Dhari during her tutelage under the Sith. Perhaps the Sith had hoped to turn her fully to the Dark Side by the time the Sith ventured out into the Galaxy. But Dhari had learned to make it look as if he had. Maybe she even believed herself to be broken too. However, when the Sith expansion began and the marauders fanned out into the Galaxy, she eventually found herself in a situation, an opportune moment to make her escape. She managed to flee and headed for a place as far away from her former master as possible.

She ended up in Hutt Space, finding work with a smuggling crew. They worked exclusively for the Hutt Cartel, smuggling spice and weapons. Eventually, she was able to buy her own light freighter and set out on her own. As it happened, her new venture as captain of her own smuggling vessel coincided with the Crymorah Syndicate’s toppling of the Hutt Cartel as the primary sphere of influence in the Five Syndicates. With her employer now reeling under the Crymorah Syndicate’s pressure and persecution, Dhari tried her best to maneuver the delicate situation that she was in and get the most out of it.

But the years with the Sith couldn’t be erased from her memory. And the fear of encountering her old master never went away.

Personality & Traits

Dhari is fundamentally a joyful soul. She enjoys light-hearted banter and the small pleasures in life. She has a hedonistic nature, which presents itself in both constructive and destructive ways. She seems easy-going to all that meet her, as if nothing in this universe could rile her up. When the bantha fodder hits the fan, she proves to be both capable, decisive, and in possession of somewhat of a leadership skill – even if she would reject the idea of becoming a leader to anyone. Leading herself through life is a big enough task as it is.

Dhari can also be quite headstrong and very candid with her words. She not afraid to tell anyone to their face that she doesn’t like them. The fact that she’s a capable person also means that she is quite sure of herself; she has a tendency to overlook other possible strategies or tactics for solving an issue than her own. Additionally, hidden somewhere deep within her is a rage that burns like a wildfire when stoked. She is capable of despicable deeds, and she knows it, too; tries to control it as best as she can. But the anger and hurt that was cultivated in her by the things she saw and did at her Master’s behest always lurks underneath the surface.

Powers & Abilities

Attuned to the Force: As a Force-sensitive who's spent time training with a mentor, Dhari is probably more aware and able to utilise her powers than a Force-sensitive who has never had any real training. However, her time with the Sith only amounted to a few short years, and because she never fully gave in to the Dark Side her development in using the Force was slowed. Furthermore, since fleeing from the Sith she hasn't been practicing her skills, which has caused her development to experience inertia. Adding onto that is a general fear of reaching too deep into her Force attunement, knowing what darkness lurks inside.

Lightsaber: Dhari still possesses the lightsaber she built for herself whilst with the Sith. She showed potential as a duelist, but since her training was discontinued, she hasn't practiced much and therefore would be no match even for a Padawan or Acolyte at the end of their training. Given the conspicuousness of the weapon, Dhari rarely uses it in combat, if ever. The blade is crimson, which only adds to the awareness using a weapon like that would create around her. She's yet to find a way to purify the crystal and has reached a point where she's considering other options, like replacing the crystal. She even on the fence about keeping the lightsaber, as it contains memories of a past Dhari would sooner forget.

Smuggling: Life as a smuggler necessitates a jack-of-all-trades approach. Whilst already a capable pilot, Dhari has had to learn to trust her gut instinct in hairy situations; to quality check the goods she's smuggling and become better at reading other sentients and their intent, lest they try to pull a fast one on her; to be calm under pressure and cunning in her approach to solving issues, which are daunting more often than not for a lone smuggler. The Underworld is an entire culture and society existing parallel to regular society, with its own language, norms, and ways of conducting oneself both in business and in pleasure.

Nimban is one of two terrestrial planets occupying the Nimban system's habitable zone, with a further five planets in the system. Situated on the outskirts of Hutt Space, it is the home of the Nimbanels, a species of warm-blooded reptilian humanoids. Located on the Pabol Sleheyron hyperlane, it is the last major Hutt-influenced system on that hyperlane before you exit Hutt Space.

Nimban is also a known smuggler's hub, and its rugged terrain lends itself brilliantly as hideouts and other off-grid establishments. The focal point of the Nimbanese smuggling operations run is the underground facility located in The Crevasse, a deep trench located in the bedrock of a paleo-ocean that dried up millions of years ago due to changes in the planets hydrological conditions and tectonic deformation. Currently governed by a Hutt Cartel lieutenant known as the Pitlord, it is a port that most smugglers can call home - although those allied to the Crymorah Syndicate might want to watch their back while there.

Nimban is ruled by the Nimbanels, a species with an affinity for the gathering and processing of information. Much like the Bothans of Bothawui, Nimban has historically played a vital role for the various galactic factions and their intelligence agencies. Naturally, the Nimbanels' loyalty has been a fickle thing, never fully committing to any faction until the rise of the Galactic Empire. In recent years, Nimbanel has been a part of the Hutt Cartel's sphere of influence. However, recent developments in the power dynamic between the Five Syndicates have made the future of Nimbanese loyalty vague and undecided once again.

C L I M A T E & T E R R A I N

fantasy-art-mountains-fantasy-city-castle-wallpaper-preview.jpg

Because Nimban is a terrestrial planet, the climate varies drastically depending on one's latitudinal position. The polar caps are freezing, arid places; the equatorial region warm and tropical. In between them there are subtropical and temperate zones where forests and rainforests, open grasslands, steppes, deserts, mountain ranges, lakes, and rivers cover the areas that haven't turned urban.

What sets Nimban apart from other terrestrial planets, however, are the many former lakes and seas that have formed deserts, salt pans, and low basin-like valleys. The reasons for the evaporation of these former bodies of water are varried. Some disappeared due to the rapid increase in the systems sun's heat emission as it nears the end stages of its life. Others dried up due to changes in their hydrological conditions or changes caused by tectonic deformation. The Empire's mining operations on Nimban further destabilized the planet's crust, resulting in an increase in tectonic plate activity, which has left the areas of Nimban's surface that run along the tectonic fault lines scarred.

A prominent Hutt Cartel smuggling facility is situated in a trench located in a basin-like valley, known as The Crevasse.

The continents on Nimban consist of a major continent starting at the north pole and reaching all the way down past the equator, and a minor continent in the southern hemisphere; the two continents are divided by a stretch of ocean. Smaller and larger islands dot the ocean in other areas of Nimban, but these two continents are the primary continents where most of the planet's inhabitants live.

Areas of Interest:

  • The Crevasse: a former deep sea trench housing a smuggling facility operated by the Pitlord, a Hutt Cartel Lieutenant (NPC)
  • Where the Travels End: the Qub'anu Er'ajan Mountains (Nimbanese: Where the Travels End), an enormous mountain range that acts as a natural divide between the northern and southern parts of the Northern Continent. The Qub'anu Er'ajan cast a very large, extensive rain shadow on the sourthern reaches beyond, turning much of the territory into a dry, arid plain.
  • Kirill: the historical domain of the Bovark Clan. It is the global capital of Nimban and houses the Nimbanese parliament, the Brokering Table. It is also one of several cities housing the massive servers needed to store the data that is Nimban's bread and butter. The servers are hidden in underground facilities overseen by the Data Holders of the Major Clans.
  • Aganis: the regional capital of the Northern Continent, the historical domain of the Krovalis Clan. Aganis also houses underground server facilities.

H I S T O R Y

star_wars_nimbanel_by_ryan_rhodes_by_aliens_of_star_wars_d6j0xiz-fullview.jpg

Nimban's history is intimately connected to the history of the Nimbanels, the planet's dominating native species. In ancient times, the Nimbanels lived in nomadic tribes that would follow the migration routes of Nimban's traveling plants, many of whom were a food source to the Nimbanels or otherwise processed by the species to use for the production of clothing and other materials. At some point in their history, the Nimbanels stopped being nomadic and settled in different areas of Nimban. The ocean that divided the Northern Continent from the Southern Continent ensured that the Nimbanels developed differences in culture and society. However, the Northern and Southern tribes had their affinity for logical thought and rhetorical skills in common, and these traits defined much of Nimban's history.

By the time of the High Republic era, the Nimbanels had colonized other planets in the Nimban system, including Nimbanella - the system's only other habitable planet. The system was discovered by explorers of the Galactic Republic. Diplomacy between the Galactic Republic and Nimban ensued, with the former extending an invitation to join the Republic to the latter. The question of whether to join the Republic or not was debated in the Nimbanese parliament, with the eventual outcome that Head Broker Farn Bovark formally accepted the Republic's invitation in the year 943 BBY. The Galactic Republic was not the only major organisation to show interest in Nimban and the Nimbanels' skills as information brokers. The Hutt Cartel secretly bought some of the Nimbanese data holders' loyalty and kept sticking to Nimban like a parasite even during the years of Nimban's strongest involvement with the Republic.

During the Clone Wars, Nimban hosted many of the Republic's major information processing facilities, it bureaucratic infrastructure second to none in the Galaxy. As the war raged on, however, debate raged in the Nimbanese parliament about whether to secede to the Confederacy of Independent Systems or remain loyal to the Republic. Ultimately, Nimban remained a member of the Republic and therefore became a part of the Galactic Empire when Emperor Palpatine proclaimed its transformation at the end of the war.

As a part of the Galactic Empire, the most influential of the Nimbanese clans became primary data holders for a lot of the Empire's bureaus, including the Bureau of Ships and Services, known as the BoSS. And the Empire, wanting a monopoly on the extraction of the planet's rich mineral and metal resources, paid certain Nimbanel contractors to undertake this in the name of the Empire, making a small number of already wealthy Nimbanels richer at the cost of many of their compatriots, especially the inhabitant of the Northern Continent. However, even during the Imperial era Nimban was never fully loyal to one faction; the Hutt Cartel, whose influence on Nimban had persisted through the centuries, bought sensitive Imperial data from corrupt Nimbanese data holders and planted seeds of strife within the Nimbanese society. It was during the waning years of the Galactic Empire that the Hutt Cartel was able to increase their influence on Nimban substantially. After the fall of the Empire, the Hutt Cartel would finally extend its sphere of influence to encompass Nimban entirely, turning the once proud Nimbanese society into a pit of corruption and debauchery.

Later, when the remnants of the Empire known as the First Order was battling the New Republic and the Resistance, there were voices in the Nimbanese parliament proposing that Nimban should rejoin the restored Republic. Those voices were quickly silenced by the Hutt Cartel. The Nimbanese clans became more divided than ever, with members of the clans loyal to the Cartel (like the Ilian and Tarja clans) taking over more and more of the powerful bureaucratic positions in the Nimbanese government.

The Hutt Cartel's influence on Nimban continued into the Force Eternal-era, when the Hutt Cartel was one of five members of an unholy alliance of underworld powers known as the Five Syndicates. Nimban itself was led by Head Broker Tebenil Ilian, the despotic Nimbanese president who's sixth term as Head Broker had just begun when developments in the galactic underworld shook Hutt Space. With Preef Callo at the helm, the Crymorah Syndicate dislodged the Hutt Cartel from its position as the primary power within the Five Syndicates. In the ensuing 'Hutticide', the Hutts' grasp on Nimban lessened, leaving opportunities open for the other Syndicates to wrestle Nimban from their grasp or factions opining for Nimban's return to the Republic to make their presence known.

C U L T U R E & G O V E R N M E N T

images

The Nimbanels - Nimban's dominating native sentient species - are said to trace their origins to grazing animals that evolved into tribal gatherer communities. Taking great pride in cultivating logical thought patterns and solving problems and puzzles, the societies of the Nimbanels were from an early time in their history less martial and marred by warfare than many other sentient species of the Galaxy.

More inclined towards discussion and problem-solving, Nimbanel society evolved in relative peace over the millennia. Feuds between the tribes spread out across the two continents were often solved with competitions of intelligence and rhetoric instead of invasion and war. That's not to say that Nimbanel society was in any way egalitarian; instead of stratifying the power structures according to military might and martial prowess, the tribes were place in a hierarchy according to intelligence, rhetoric, charisma, and personality. The Clans, as the various tribes eventually called themselves, were divided by region, with the Clans of the Southern Continent emerging on the top of the Nimbanese society. They immediately set about creating structures and systems to remain the 'center of Nimban'; in time, all the best educational facilities and the most modern cities were found in the South. The Northern Continent, for its part, was divided into two parts, separated by an enormous mountainous region in the small bottleneck at the continent's center. South of the mountains was a vast region rich in resources and less densely populated, with many smaller Clans still living according to old nomadic traditions, whereas the northern part was dotted with urban areas and farmlands, and inhabited by many Clans that would eventually rival the Clans of the Southern Continent's power and influence.

Like many other species in the galaxy, the Nimbanels went through eras with feudal-like structures to their society. However, instead of estate owners whose authority and social status was legitimized by military might, the 'nobility' of the Nimbanels was defined by its status as Data Holders, i.e. bankers who dealt in information and data. These Data Holders were part of the intricate network of Clans that had developed over many centuries of history on Nimban. Clans such as Bovark, Krovalis, Ilian, and Tarja were led by families of Data Holders. The Clans were locked in an endless struggle to gain the upper hand in the information and intelligence sector. Corruption, assassinations, espionage, and other seedy ventures were not uncommon tools in this struggle. Although the Nimbanels had learned to solve disputes without warfare, they were by no means strictly moral beings and were not above using other means to reach the ends they desired.

Unlike many other species, the Nimbanels developed a form of democracy fairly early on. The seats of their parliament were of course dominated by members of the leading Nimbanese clans, their level of influence usually defined by their Clan's assets in information brokering and their level of bureaucratic finesse. The leader of the government was known as the Head Broker. Nimban was a prime candidate for joining the Galactic Republic, which they did about in 943 BBY, when Head Broker Farn Bovark formally accepted the Supreme Chancellor's invitation.

R E S O U R C E S & T E C H N O L O G Y

Nimban is rich in natural resources, especially metals and minerals, as its high tectonic plate activity pushes these resources from the planet's core up into its crust. However, in the time of the Galactic Empire, many of these deposits were depleted.

Nimban's other rich resource is intricately linked with the Nimbanels themselves. Information - brokered, processed or stored for safekeeping - is Nimban's primary export.

I N T E N T

To expand on a canon/legends planet that is situated on the borders between Republic and Syndicate spheres of influence. The Nimbanel species also has an interesting culture which is under-explored in both canon and legends, and I intend to do a separate species write-up for them so we can all enjoy this beautiful species of computer nerds.

Illouen Aarstal

Illouen Aarstal was a human male Jedi Knight alive in the Force Eternal-era. After narrowly avoiding the Sith attack on the Jedi temple on Ajan Kloss and carrying out his Padawan apprenticeship under the shadow of war, Illouen withdrew from the greater galactic affairs upon graduating to Knighthood. Now on a more solitary pursuit, he seeks to discover the forgotten history of the Light side of the Force in the hope of understanding its mysteries and, perhaps, make some sense of it all.
Biography
Illouen's story began similarly to that of many other Jedi. Born with the ability to touch the Force. Put on the path of the Light from an early age. The part concerning his earliest years, before the Order, surely existed, somewhere in the archives of the Jedi. However, it had little relevance to the outcome of his life. He never pursued it, and so it won't be recounted here.

His Initiate years were, by all accounts, unremarkable. At least they didn't stand out from those of other Younglings. He was studious, obedient. Soft-spoken and tender, made perhaps more for bookish pursuits than the martial ways that would be thrust upon him later in his life. Immersed in the jungle of Ajan Kloss and surrounded by his peers, the first many years of his life were peaceful and prosperous.

Then came the attack on Ajan Kloss. Mere months prior, Illouen had been accepted as the Padawan of Dere Endvi, a Jedi Knight whose speciality lay in scholarly pursuits. However, in the ensuing conflict, years that were meant to be dedicated to research and philosophy instead became wrapped up in the Jedi Order's fight against the Sith. Out of necessity, Illouen gained prowess with a lightsaber, an understanding of military tactics, and a calloused soul as he witnessed the suffering caused by war and endeavoured to help prevent it.

Years later, after eventually gaining his Knighthood, he did what his master could not - he withdrew from the conflict and chose a path more in alignment with what he had always been drawn to. The fighting had worn him out, and seeing how it had forced his master in a direction he could no longer divert from, the young Jedi Knight made his decision. He set out, mostly on his own, to immerse himself in the Force and pursue the traces left by the Light.

Personality & Traits
Illouen is fundamentally a cheerful soul. While this part of him has been challenged and somewhat numbed by the recent years of conflict and war, it is still one of his defining traits. Rather than having a pessimistic outlook, he rests in the belief that the Light ultimately clears the path for those who accept it. And the Light consists of all that is good in the Galaxy.

Illouen is curious and driven, but he is convinced it is not by ambition. Instead, it is his helpfulness that drives him. Even in his most solitary, isolated tasks, he believes that he undertakes them to help and serve others. It is something that his Master taught him. It was shown through his actions, when he, self-sacrificially, dedicated himself and his Padawan to the defence against the invading Sith, forfeiting his own dreams in the process.

Illouen sometimes struggles with his sense of loyalty to the Order and the instinct that guides his decisions. He wants to help, to be of service, but is not always certain about the path he should take to do so. Sometimes, the will of the Order goes against his instincts, and he struggles to know which to follow, and why.

Powers & Abilities

Attuned to the Force: Illouen's attunement to the Force is significant, and moreso since he decided to walk a more solitary path.

Lightsaber: Decent lightsaber skills, but nothing out of the ordinary. His martial prowess was a by-product of the times he lived through, not a goal itself.

Academics: His understanding of the Force and the history of the Jedi broadens with every mission he undertakes.

Aamya Girix (AAHH-me-ah GEE-rix)

Homeworld: Coruscant
Age: 26
Species: Arkanian Offshoot
Faction: Independent
Occupation: Slicer/Activist/Journalist
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 70 kg
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Pale blue
Force Sensitivity: No

Aamya Girix was a slicer, freelance journalist, and SETA-activist, who lived during the Force Eternal era. Though originally from a well-to-do corporate family on Coruscant, Aamya wound up as a members of the Galactic underbelly, scraping by on a mixture of slicing jobs and freelance writing. She was driven to activism by the various Galactic governments' ineptitude in the face of the horrors experienced by sentients and non-sentient beings alike, eventually focusing on the miserable treatment of non-sentient beings at the hands of sentients.

Biography

  • Studied computer science
  • Well-educated parents working in the corporate sector

Personality
Aamya is a delightfully confusing person to figure out. She can be a hardliner when it comes to some moral and ethical issues - such as the value of veganism and her detestation of corporate exploitation of animals sentient and non-sentient - whilst operating with much more blurred lines concerning other issues, such as making a living as a slicer working for various syndicates and agencies. She is mostly bubbly, seldom quiet, often erratic, and she is always either of the opinion that nothing really matters, so you might as well have some fun, or determined to fix the Galaxy's issues, whatever the cost. Whatever the question, the answer is always anarchy and eating the rich.

An absolute nightmare to some and an inspiration to others, Aamya can come off as outspoken and opinionated, driven by a righteous passion and a restlessness that acts as a deterrent against many social interactions. However, those that get to know her will discover a friend who's capable to set aside personal differences out of loyalty and trust.

Brayen Debrona (BRAY-enn De-BRONA)

Homeworld: Corellia
Age: 43
Species: Human
Faction: Independent
Occupation: Bookie/Bruiser
Height: 192 cm
Weight: 135 kg
Hair Color: Black (when not bald)
Eye Color: Dark brown
Force Sensitivity: No

Brayen Debrona was a bookie and muscle, who worked for the Galaxy's crime syndicates during the Force Eternal era. He grew up in an orphanage on Corellia and got in early with the planet's tough crowd, gaining a reputation as a brawler because of his towering height and his aptitude for throwing a fist. He started out as a bouncer at various cantinas in Coronet City, rising through the ranks to eventually manage some of the cantinas and oversee the bookkeeping connected to various gambling and gaming enterprises in the city's underbelly. With the advent of the Hapan annexation of his homeworld (coinciding with a falling out between him and his employer due to debts and a spice addiction), Brayen left Corellia to look for new work opportunities.

Biography
To come

Personality
Brayen has a brash and abbrasive personality. He's stand-offish, sarcastic, and not afraid to get on people's nerves. He is feisty, sometimes aggressive, but also with a large capacity for letting things slide, built up through decades of having to deal with mooks and low-lives in the cantinas. However, he is smart enough to hold a grudge and play the long game when it is needed (perhaps less so when he's in a regular spice hole, as it tends to fray the edges of his persona even more than they already are).

Brayen wouldn't have been able to make it in his line of work without mitigating factors to his personality, though. Firstly, he is fiercely loyal to a contract (as long as its stipulations are honored). Secondly, and perhaps surprisingly, he works well in a team; he has no illusions about himself or his role, sticking to the things he is good at and letting others do theirs. Thirdly, there is a softness underneath the hard shell somewhere. It's hard to find and very confusing when it's found, but it is there nonetheless.

He has an acronym tattooed on his belly: ACAB - All Corpos Are Bounty. Trick them, loot them, scam them - doesn't matter. Corporations are taking credits that don't belong to them. Brayen and others like him are simply taking those credits back.
