The title and your comment has me seriously confused. :CDumb
Try it out and you'll no longer be confused.

Also, the music in this game is ****ing epic.

Is the gameplay good? All I've heard about is the scenery and music.

For the inexplicably confused people in this thread, a translation: "The game plays like a God of War game, but it's ****ing awesome, nonetheless."

Indeed. A lot of the same mechanics and concepts are ripped straight from God of War, but they're implemented extremely well, and often times better. The combat hasn't gotten boring yet either, which was the case with God of War 3. I mean, in GoW3, every weapon (besides the gauntlets) played basically the exact same, and operated on the same principles, and you retained the exact same move set as even the first game in the series. Castlevania sticks to the Combat Cross, but adds in more and more combos, with new Relics (read: weapons) that are actually useful and change the combat up quite a bit. Also, the light and dark powers are a welcome strategic addition.

EDIT: Not to mention the actually good platforming sections. God of War has some of the most awful controls for its exploration and platforming areas, especially jumping. I can't even recall how many times I died in God of War 3, just trying to get a single jump right.

Whatever happened to 2D Castlevania games?

Also, do you get the whip?

The mainstream video game industry kind of got over 2D graphics over a decade ago, Mulluns.

And yes, you get the whip. It's called the Combat Cross. Chain whip. It's your primary weapon.

By 2D, I mean side scrolling mostly. Mainly how Contra and Street Fighter 4 are played. I could have worded that better. My mistake.

I am prolly going to go try the demo on the Marketplace.

3D and Castlevania has usually proved they do not go good together. Is Dracula even in this game?

I haven't run into him. It's really only a Castlevania game in name.

If this thing is for the just the Xbox and PS3, then I can't get it. Shame, as I loved Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin.

I figured. The enemies in the old games are based off the old Universal horror movies or mythology, these seem different....
