Celesté Naberrie was born on Naboo, a child of the prominent Naberrie family, and a distant relative of Queen Padmé Amidala Naberrie, having descended from the deceased queen's sister, Sola Naberrie some centuries ago. As a youth, she was discovered to be Force-sensitive and given to the Jedi Order for training.

Celesté was a talented young Jedi and was particularly known among her generation of Padawans for her compassion. However, she was also known to buck authority, following the vein of her Master, who himself sought the guidance of the Force before even the Jedi Council. As a result, Celesté often acted based on her own intuition and understanding of the Force's will without waiting for the Council's explicit blessing. This had the consequence of putting her at odds with Jedi leadership.

After the passing of her Master, and her ascension to Knighthood, Celesté sought to end the tension that existed between her and the Council and left the Order on a sabbatical. During her travels, she ventured across the galaxy, Core, Mid, and Rim worlds, helping whomever she could and learning much. She watched sometimes with horror at the ways the Jedi were portrayed in the media, and viewed the ascension of the Sith Empire as a troubling sign that the galaxy was reversing trends set by Rey Skywalker, rather than advancing. When the Republic banned all Jedi from its borders, Celesté began to question her continued sabbatical.

But she did not make the decision to return until Jedi Grand Master Alexandria Voran called the Jedi Knights home. Feeling she had learned all that she could from her travels, Celesté officially ended her sabbatical and embraced the life of the Jedi once again.
