Chaos! Killiks stage shock attack.

A species known as the ‘Killiks’ have remerged across numerous worlds, causing extensive panic.

Beginning on Ruusan at a peace summit held by Ruusani Governor Omah, the Killiks attacked Thyferra and Corellia within days of one another. New Republic, Consortium, and Imperial Government sources have remained tight-lipped on the events on these three worlds, with numerous dignitaries from most Governments across the galaxy caught in the attack.

However, it is not currently clear as to the extent of the attack taking place on Ruusan, with numerous reports suggesting that Alliance, New Republic, Jedi, Consortium, Imperial and even Hutt fleets are engaged in combat over the planet. Armed asteroids and multiple local ships have been spotted engaging the combined forces of the various galactic governments.

Meanwhile, on Corellia and Thyferra, attacks from the Killiks are underway, with children being used as hostages on Corellia and the Galactic Bacta supply under threat on Thyferra.

There have been no confirmed cases of other Killik attacks on additional planets as of publishing.

When talks turned to chaos.

It was meant to be the location of peace talks between the warring factions of the Galaxy.

Ruusan, which hosted the peace talks, has become the scene of one of the most significant battles in recent memory, with fleets from across the galaxy engaging over the once peaceful planets' orbit.

We understand that the once warring factions of the galaxy are now fighting on the same side, against a large and hostile force of Killik, and their ‘joiners’.

This says much about the perceived threat of the Killik, who so far have made significant gains in orbit, with numerous allied ships being damaged or even destroyed in the ongoing combat.

The precise extent of the damage is unknown. However, we can confirm that dignitaries from across the galaxy are still trapped on the surface. Having expected to attend peace talks, members of the Consortium, the Hutt Clans, Jedi and the New Republic, Sith and Alliance are understood to be battling for their lives.

It is hard to overstate the unexpectedness of this attack, with nobody having known the Killik were capable of organising such an operation in secret.

Corellia on the brink as planetary core under threat

Corellia authorities have confirmed that their planetary core, which is itself a vast generator, is the primary target of the Killik invaders.

In a statement issued today, the Correllian President played down suggestions that the structural integrity of his world has been compromised after rumours emerged that the Killik had come from tunnels beneath the surface of the planet. He said: “My Government condemns this attack on our planet, one who has used Corellia's children to act as a human shield for their barbarism. We shall restore order.”

The Herald understands that there is a volunteer force, consisting of numerous offworlders, attempting to secure the Core, and regain control of the planet from the Killiks and their ‘Joiners’.

Manaan discusses ‘Kolto alternative’ as Thyferra attack causes supply concerns

Arbitrator Skaka Broath has spoken on national news today to confirm that his Government is prepared to restrict prices and broaden supply ahead of a possible supply issue should the ongoing attack on Thyferra not quickly be resolved.

During his statement, Mr Broath, sworn in as Manaans lead Arbitrator last month, assured the Galaxy, specifically the Thyferran Government, that they would keep prices consistent with current ‘pre-attack’ demand so as to avoid a ‘run on available medicines’.

Manaan, which has long seen Thyferra as the main rival in its plays in the medicine markets, rarely comments on such matters, making the statement historical.

The attack on Thyferra has thrown galactic markets into disarray, as the world remains one of the primary lynchpins on which the galactic medicine market hinges.

Joiners, what are they?

Earlier in our report, we made references to the ‘Joiners’.

So, just what are they? And, should you be worried?

Simply put, we understand ‘Joiners’ to be those who have imbibed a form of chemical compound created by the Killik to induce the consumer into a trance which brings them into the collective ‘hive mind’ of the Killik species.

This means that, instead of having the illusion of choice as we do, they don’t have any at all.

So yes, you probably should be worried.[/center]
