It is very important to browse the Factions and Organizations forums to learn about your options. The main factions your character can join are: the Sith Empire, the Galactic Alliance (which includes the Jedi) and the Mandalorians. There are many other PC and NPC factions as well. However, characters do not have to be part of a faction.

Profiles must include if a character is Force Sensitive (FS) or not and their age, height and weight. These are mandatory for pvp reasons, including to prevent tech abuse because Force Sensitive characters cannot use armor functions. Even Force Sensitive characters who have their force-sensitivity undiscovered or untrained still can not use armor functions.

You can find character templates in the Basic & Advanced Character Templates thread. You can also use other members templates by clicking "quote" on their post and copying their template.

Starting Level
All characters start at level one. Level one Force sensitives have limited control over the Force, and level one non-Force sensitives have limited combat abilities. Learn more about levels and power here.

New Characters Reputation and Assets

New characters have no reputation or influence. They cannot rule over anything or lead anything significant. However, they may start with a small amount of assets such as a small business with three to four (3-4) NPCs, but a business that has no reputation or significance.

As characters rank up they earn reputation, and they can also earn more reputation and assets through plots, PvP, events and bounties. Leveling up also gains characters some reputation, but much less so than rank and actions through role-play does. Learn more about how to gain reputation and what it does for your character here.

Starting Ranks
All new characters—if they belong to a faction—start at the lowest PC rank. Lowest ranks for the main factions are: Sith Acolyte (for Force sensitives in the Sith Empire), Imperial Agent (for non-Force sensitives in the Sith Empire), Mandalorian Marauder (in the Mandalorians), Rebel or Jedi Padawan (in the Galactic Alliance), or Lieutenant/Field Operative or Senator (in the Republic). To learn more about faction ranks check out the Factions and Organizations forum.

New characters can start with one (1) main arm, two (2) side arms and one (1) melee, though there is the option to switch arms for melees. There is also the option to start off with grenades, but four (4) max. When it comes to ships, vehicles and droids, characters may start off with one (1) each. However, characters with small businesses may start off with a handful of droid (or regular) NPCs.

Characters may have a set of armor then an alterantive set of armor. You can only wear one set of armor equipped at a time.

Sith and Jedi may only start out with a maximum of two (2) lightsabers. Independent Force users cannot start with lightsabers, but they may acquire one through role play.

Characters cannot start off with any advanced technology. Advanced technology be earned from bounties or plots.

All technology save for regular lightsabers, vibroblades and misc generic melee weapons need to be linked to write ups in the Technology forum.

We have an Approved Species List you can browse through, which also has a disallowed list. While the list is not comprehensive, it is fairly extensive. Any user-created species will have to be submitted in the Species forum and be approved before it can be used in the roleplay.

General: Be sure and keep in mind the timeline's story and setting when making your character. Here is the story so far. that covers the events before the timeline takes place. Also be sure to read the write-ups for the main factions as well, especially if you plan on making a character for that faction.

Jedi: At the beginning of the timeline due to the eradication of the Jedi brought by the Sith, the Jedi were declared to be extinct. Only five characters were to start out as Jedi to rebuild the Order. Due to their success, players can now make Jedi Padawans. The Jedi were only revealed to have survived at Corellia relatively recently IC. New Jedi characters would be taken in to be a Jedi within the last five years and trained in that time, no exceptions

What is a Descendant Character?
They're characters related to characters from The First Sith (7th) timeline. If you want to make one, all the rules below must be followed. No exceptions.

Descendant Character Rules
  • The relative from the 7th timeline must have survived till the end of 7th timeline, or have had a baby IC (in character) before their death.
  • A link must be supplied to staff members for proof of a baby (birth or otherwise) being role-played if your character's relative perished before the end of the 7th TL.
  • Descendant characters must accurately represent the character they're related to. This applies to both their character profiles and IC actions. For example, if your descendant character is related to someone who did nothing important save for fight during the Hundred Years War, then that must be correctly role-played. They cannot be described as a war hero or legendary figure.
  • If a character was only posted, barely role-played with (10 or less posts) or did nothing of substance IC (did not take part in the war anyway, any poltics, etc) they may not have relatives. Their bloodline will have died out.
  • If you're making a descendant character of someone else's character, you must get permission of the original creator of that character. This does not apply to Drasts, they require admin approval.
How to Get Admin Approval To Make a Drast
Drast is a royal (Sith) surname and carries some weight and power IC. For this reason, anyone who wants to make a Drast must have administrative permission. To get administrative permission simply fill out the application below and send it to @Faster Than Light. He will bring it to the admin team to have it reviewed and then let you know if your idea is approved. Do not create your Drast before gaining administrative approval.

The application is meant to be short—just enough information to let the admin team understand your character idea—so answer it the best you can but don't feel pressured to add in tons of detail. Anyone, vet or new, is free to apply for a Drast.

Drast Application:

Race:
Age:

Key Information the you think the Admins should know.

Code:

You must create a sub account for your character. It is mandatory because character sub accounts function differently from main accounts (the account you signed up to the site with is called a main account or OOC account, anything you create after is a sub-account). The only way you can progress your characters is by posting with their sub accounts because they're the only accounts that can earn credits and be assigned ranks in factions.

To learn how to create character sub-accounts go here or look in the Rules & Guidelines forum.

Do remember that subaccounts are only for in-character posting in the story sections only. Not to be used any other place on the site.

Character profiles are reviewed in the order they're posted. The following staff members review character profiles: @Faster Than Light, but all admins can review profiles. If you have any questions about character profiles you may PM the aforementioned staff members but DO NOT HARASS THEM FOR APPROVAL! THEY WILL GET TO YOUR CHARACTER PROFILE! If you've made reviewer-requested edits and don't hear back from the profile reviewer after five-days, you can tag the character moderators, but again don't harass them

Q: Can I role play with my character before he or she is approved?
A: Yes you can role play with an unapproved character in everything but faction plots or PVPs.

Q: May I post a character thats a work-in-progress?
A: No, the Character Profile section is only for finished characters and ready for review. You can however post WIPs in the player workshop section and work on it there. When finished, copy the code and post in in this section.

Q: Do i post my character with my subaccount?
A: No. The subaccounts are only for in-character posting in the story sections only.

Q: Do we have a list of allowed force powers?
A: We do not have a definite list of usable force powers. Do note that we only allow canon force powers. Non-canon force powers need an approved Lore write-up before they can be used. Click here for a list of approved user-submitted force powers and here for the Force rules.
