"Born in blood. Life is breath. Love is legacy. Death is rest."
Priest oath of adulthood

Practical by necessity, spartan by choice, those born under Priest traditions are often raised under a harsh hand. Whether in warfare, work, or one's personal approach to overcoming obstacles, one should be direct and decisive in their dealings. Baptized from birth in blood, there is a quiet, often stoic aggression in a Priest's approach towards life. Just like the ocean stretching before the Clan's coastal territories, strong currents pull beneathe deceivingly calm waters within every beating Priest heart. Just as a child is brought into this world through blood and labor, so does one bleed and struggle throughout life. Death is rest. Not until.

"A fat kitchen makes a lean will."
Priest Proverb
Due to their lands occupying the coast, most families either live in fishing villages or amongst the island chains leading north from the mainland. Seafood and rice are main staples of a Priest's diet, while spicy coconut milk curry, coconut corn bread wafers, butter seared potatoes, and a variety of flavored sweet teas, are signature delicacies the Clan has become associated with over time.

Once a mando'ika ~mandalorian child~ has sat down to eat, there is no leaving until the meal has been finished. For some, wasting food is an affront to the Dead, who sowed that we may reap of the meal. Others feel it teaches the child to not bite off more than you can chew, no matter how hungry or excited one becomes. Still others instill the teaching to never leave a task until you have finished what you've started. Whichever lesson is being taught by the parent, it's a solid glimpse into the Clan's pragmatic set of values.

"If you can't take it in the field with you, don't believe in it."
Priest Proverb
Superstition is the closest compromise Clan Priest is willing to go towards religion. Most families have developed simple practices to accommodate any particular desire for spirituality, to include the lighting of candles or incense for those who have passed, or saluting the rising sun as a gesture of respect to the living.

Although you'll not likely find a Priest clansman in a temple or asking favors from a deity, as a whole the Clan holds an accepted view on the value of spirituality in their culture. Due to violence and warfare being the Priest's general experience of life, the need to process one's emotions is very important and encouraged clan-wide. Repression of posttraumatic issues never leads to beautiful beaches and so the pragmatic Priests generally encourage spiritual practices to keep one balanced and healthy for life's struggles

"Whether in armor or without, a Priest should always retain presence, mastery in one's skin"
War Proverb
The severity of a Priest's upbringing is meant to produce a specific result: a versatile and resourceful mandalorian capable of persevering in the face of unrelenting obstacles. Most become Legionairres, the strict military lifestyle comforting and familiar to a Priest. From early childhood martial discipline is instilled, and as one comes of age, more regimented weapons and survival training integrated, ensuring a career in the military remains a possibility for those healthy enough to pursue.

Of note, throughout the years Clan Priest has become associated with developing an efficient and mission specific hand to hand combative system, commonly utilized by Legion training instructors. As enemies are armored more often than not, the Priest's set to perfecting a combat system utilizing open palm strikes, throws, trips, chokes, joint manipulation, and ground grappling techniques.

As one doesn't want to damage their wrist or knuckles, striking with the palm is preferred when dealing with an armored opponent. Using the tips of the fingers, such as with a spearhand, to strike vulnerable nerve clusters, keeps the warrior from damaging his own tools and bypasses any protective advantage his enemy may have held.

Primarily a performance based system, it takes many years of intense training to master the transition between pressure point striking, grappling, dirty boxing, trips, and sutble joint manipulations present in the art's actual combative application

"Better to die for a friend, than to live without one."
Proverb

There is no clearer a distinction between the cerebral and the instinctual as exists between the Vizsla and Priest families. Yet, for as long as there is recorded history of Clan Priest, they have always been allied with House Vizsla.

House Fett and Clan Priest have maintained professional relations throughout the generations. As House Vizsla and House Kryze elevated Fett from Clan to House, the Fetts and Priests usually find themselves on the same side of an argument.

House Kryze, being old money, has little dealings with the impoverished Priest Clan. The Priests appreciate the distance as they feel the family is too soft and prone to excessive entitlements.

House Ordo may be the only family that despises force users more than the Priests. However, beyond this shared animosity, there is little relations between the families.

Few Priests have settled on Concord Dawn, so interactions with House Skirata has been limited mostly to business transactions. Dawnward Design Industries is popular among many families within Clan Priest and business is commonplace.

Intent: To provide Mandalorian lore, working towards a familiar setting for SWRP writers.
