Clan Tsuani

Loyalty / Treachery

Warriors. Raiders. Zealots. Allies. All terms have described Clan Tsuani at some point in their checkered history. A fairly radical, militant clan with a long history of rebellion only recently turned back to their Mandalorian brethren. Clan Tsuani is home to highly trained and proficient warriors specializing in both unconventional tactics and quick, precise strikes on enemies, each a trait of their pirate history.

History

At its inception, Clan Tsuani was a part of Clan Fett until radical elements caused a split in the clan. This split occurred when Tsuani's earliest leader, Garrel Fett, broke away from House Fett, bringing his radical supporters and becoming an 'Aberrant Clan', or a Clan unaffiliated with a House. They lived a primarily nomadic life in the Rim, devoting themselves to battle and worship of the long forgotten deity Manda. Over the generations, their devotion died, but their volatile attitudes and disposition as raiders lived on. After several generations, the Clan settled on the planetoid Echotta in the Sharlissia system, which they began using as a permanent base for their piracy. It was around this point that members began forsaking the name Fett, and adopting the new moniker Tsuani.

In the last generation of their singular existence, Clan Leader Ryzoma Tsuani began expanding their raiding operations out into the Senex-Juvex Sector, which was controlled primarily by Sullustan Merchants and Smugglers, and contained the popular Gratise Port acting as a hub for traders on the fringe of space. As raids in the area increased, the de-facto leaders of the group mobilized available ships and repelled the raids with organized patrols and decoy convoys. This lead into what would be known as the Three-Day Skirmish, a prolonged series of engagements ending with the destruction of the Tsuani Settlement on Echotta when the modified freighter Meddletome collided with the main planetside compound, detonating and destroying it.

“I die, but our spirit lives in the survivors. And we do not forget quickly.”
- The last words of Ryzoma Tsuani, as recorded by Captain Liub Yot

There are no records directly following the Clan's destruction. Some reports indicate remnants of the group scattered across various systems, but these are unsubstantiated. What is known is that the core remnants of the clan were formed into the Mandalorian Crucible, a small and effective raiding group lead by Bria Tsuani, and the Marooned, a competing group lead by Kole Tsuani. The two groups fought for a time before agreeing to a trial by combat between Bria and Kole. Kole won, but spared Bria, making her his lieutenant, and the two groups merged with Kole becoming the leader, but the Crucible taken as a name both for symbolic purposes and to unite the new group under his leadership. Bria and Kole married shortly after.

Much raiding and looting took place in the following period as the new group gained momentum and remained strong through its rigorous training and brutal nature. However, during a domestic dispute between Bria and Kole, Kole was murdered in a fit of rage by Bria, who became de-facto clan leader. What followed was a distinct period of confusion. Bria, appalled by her actions, withdrew from the clan completely. In her wake, Tracyn Tsuani, a charismatic and ambitious man, began to rally supporters, calling for a new clan leader. When Bria finally returned to the position of Clan Leader, now a changed woman, he had grown incredibly influential, and Bria’s orders to stop their pirating were met with outrage. Mandalorian traditionalist and supporters followed her lead, while radicals and raider elements formed into their own separatist movement, and a conflict broke out between the two sides. The separatists proved too powerful, and the loyalist fled in what ships they could take.

Following this, Tracyn and his loyalist returned to Mandalore, intent on gaining power and influence amongst the clans once more. Tracyn and his band were, however, denied entrance back into the graces of Clan Fett. Enraged, Tracyn swore vengeance against Fett, and sought to become Mandalore in order to destroy his enemies. Unfortunately for him, his corruption and dealings marked him as a target of the Great Hunt. Caedryn Vizsla took up the bounty, and infiltrated the new Tsuani Compound in Sundari. He managed to find the treacherous Tracyn, and killed the man in a duel.

Leaderless, Clan Tsuani fell into chaos. Holed up in their compound, broken and alone, they stayed quiet for a time, until the beginning of the Sith attacks on House Fett. With the betrayal of House Kryze, Fett became desperate for assistance, and sent a diplomat, Kore Fett, to try and rally the remains of Tsuani. There, a new leader of Clan Tsuani emerged. Roaen Tsuani, originally a simple soldier dragged into Tracyn’s fervor, took up the mantle of clan leader and agreed to help their former enemies.

The warriors of Clan Tsuani, given new purpose, fought harder than they had ever fought before, working to protect their House with a devotion scarcely seen before. Their losses were heavy, but they persevered. Now one of the only two remaining clans, they settled in to lick their wounds, joining the growing Dominion along with their House.

Home Turf

For the past two decades, Clan Tsuani has been almost entirely mobile, using their fleet of ships to raid planets under the banner of the Mandalorian Crucible. However, in the past five years since rejoining with House Fett, they have permanently relocated to a new compound on the planet Ordo. This compound, located in the icy tundra found at the planet's north pole, is built almost entirely underground, with a cave network connecting the various modules housed in the base. This underground base comprises a barracks, training rooms, an armory, a concealed hangar, a command center, a common area, a small terrarium, a shield generator, and various Anti-Air defenses.

Clan Mentality

Ironically, the defining trait of Clan Tsuani is an intense dedication to loyalty and honor. With the new bond forged between them and Clan Fett, most clan members are ashamed of their past, although there are several notable exceptions to this. The clan at large is dedicated to protecting their allies and the Mandalorian people, and are thus vehemently opposed to the Sith, and are very wary of the Jedi. They view combat as a defining action, and take to it with almost religious dedication.

Most Tsuani members can be picked out by the nature of their armor. Most Tsuani members use patchwork armor, with pieces taken from various sets or otherwise patched up over time. Each piece is viewed as a symbol of the past, with its damage marking the battles the warrior has taken place in. Their armor coloration is typically a black base color with darker green trim and details, but there are variations on this.

Relationships

The strongest bond Tsuani has with any clan is Clan Fett, their housemates, who they fought side-by-side with during the Sith attacks on their homes. Tsuani members can often be found at Clan Fett's main compound, and the two experience a generally very positive relationship, although some members of Tsuani resent Fett for their old grudges, while some members of Fett see Tsuani as a traitor clan, although their bonds forged in war largely temper these feelings.

Tsuani experiences generally decent relationships with the other clans, with the exception of the clans under House Kryze, largely due to their lack of assistance during the Sith attacks.

Intent

To provide additional information on the Mandalorian Clans, as well as fleshing out the history of Clan Tsuani specifically in relation to the events of my character, Bria Tsuani.
