Hey gang I got an idea for a roleplay. It's a world-wide alien invasion takes place during the current times. It's basically a dramatic survival/adventure/war story with elements of humor. Think of a gritty Independence Day series crossed with Band of Brothers.

Instead of invading through space, they come through large dimensional rifts that sprang up in different parts of the world around in this year or so.

Basically, the aliens have advanced weapons but still capable of being killed and their tech can be destroyed. I would say they're over six feet tall, green skin humanoids with four eyes, and gray battle-armor with dark visors. Their civilization is similar to that of ancient Roman Empire in many respects, wanting to conquer new lands and gain a new slave population. Still developing the culture and willing to partner with anyone wanting to help with it.

They have hovertanks, spider-shaped walkers with mounted guns that serve as mobile artillery. Their figther craft is shaped like the front side of a shark and bombers like a squid. We can roleplay various roles and backgrounds such as soldiers and citizens, trying to survive the onslaught and can very well die if you want to play it that way. For an example, a doctor in Mexico, a Russian police officer, an army sniper in India, or a college student in the United Kingdom. To be more specific you can write short stories of such chars in one post or more during the first days of the invasion until the end of the game.

Anyone interested we can discuss possibilities with this thread and feel free to ask questions.

Still looking. Some-point next week I will have to request that this idea to be archived if it doesn't gain any new interest.
