DESCRIPTION​

After the battle of Naboo the Confederacy of Independent Systems had to acknowledge the effectiveness of energy shield defenses. This was nothing new to them since they already utilized extensive shielding technology in the rolling droideka battle droid. A handheld personal shield was designed by the minds at Baktoid Armor Workshop during the early days of the Clone Wars. It saw use soon after the BX commando droid made its debut and quickly became a valued tool for commando droids designated with bodyguard roles. Sometimes IG-100 magna guards and other specialists were equipped with the shield but primarily it was seen in the hands of the BX model.

The personal shield has appearance reminiscent of the Separatist Hex and gives a slight yellow glow when activated. One notable tactic utilized by the BX commando droids is holding a blaster weapon through the shield to fire from safety while being protected from incoming fire. Since the Clone Wars the design has been improved upon to better protect against various dangers, now including slug throwers and other solid projectiles.

Older designs can still be found with collectors or museums but these usually only have the ability to defend against energy based weapons. Grenades, explosives and heavy ordnance are effective at surpassing the defensive capabilities of the shield. It is proof again 3 light, 2 medium or 1 heavy attack.

LEGALITY​

There is nothing illegal about these items, but it would be very rare to see them anywhere, especially in numbers.
