DESCRIPTION
The JD-300 series peacekeeper droid was commissioned at the height of the Order-Exile conflict. As the exiles began to deploy more and more war droids across Republic space the Jedi Order was forced to respond in kind. Even so, being that the Jedi still retained a form of their peaceful teachings the droid was not designed around the idea that it is a dedicated war droid. In truth the JD-300’s are the bastard children of protocol droids, and battle droids. With a kinder, gentler blaster hand the JD-300 make the perfect companions to the Jedi, on and off the battlefield. All though most of the JD-300’s commissioned during the war were destroyed in the ensuing conflict, CIR is always churning out more upon request from the Order, and some of the older wartime models are still maintained.

Much like BQMI’s GR8 the JD-300 was a rush order job, as a result they are made up of parts Frankensteined from CIR’s earlier protocol droid, and battle droid models. Their boxy white upper body, which severely limits their mobility, leaving them almost completely unable to twist their torso, was originally designed for one of the CIR’s economy class protocol droids. It’s long primate like arms are ripped wholesale from one of CIR’s lifter droid models, seeing as they were the only type of droid the prehensile arms flexible enough for the reliable use of a blaster rifle. The lightly armored legs are simply an amalgamation of the multiple lower body designs of CIR’s older battle droid models, with one key difference. The legs on the JD-300 sacrifice in the way of armoring at the knee and ankle joints in order to allow for more speed and maneuverability. The friendly looking head that rests atop the JD-300’s gangly body carries a small screen that normally displays a friendly, smiling droid face, but upon command from their Jedi commander can play pre-recorded video and audio.

The JD-300 is at heart a peacekeeper droid, and their personality was designed with that in mind. Generally friendly, and kind JD-300’s are always there to offer a helping hand. Unfortunately, because of the rushed status of their creation this did not turn out exactly as intended. If a JD-300 is sitting idle it will quickly begin to feel annoyed, in turn pestering their commander until given an Order. Most Jedi have taken to assigning their JD-300’s banal tasks during downtime, if only to avoid the droid’s constant complaints.

LEGALITY
