Upon reaching the rank of Jedi Master, Dooku cast aside the lightsaber he had used as a Padawan to create something new. His new lightsaber possessed a personalised design, having no connection to his master or traditional fashion at the time. He extensively studied the records of the Jedi Archives to create the design, and Dooku constructed the lightsaber to suit his technique, favouring long, elegant moves and dexterity.
Count Dooku continued to use the blade even after becoming a Sit, but by then, he had made minor modifications to the cosmetics of his hilt.
Unlike standard lightsabers at the time, Dooku crafted his with an unusual, curved shape, allowing him greater control during a duel. Primarily, it granted him more remarkable finesse and precision when lunging or slashing in combat.
History
Count Dooku utilised this lightsaber through much of the galactic conflict known as the Clone Wars. It saw use in numerous battles, including the First Battle of Geonosis, and combatted numerous Jedi of prestigious names such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Grandmaster Yoda with it.
During the Battle of Coruscant, Dooku used this lightsaber against Kenobi and Anakin aboard General Greivous's starship, the Invisible Hand. He fell at the hands of Anakin, who briefly utilised Count Dooku's lightsaber against him. Once Anakin defeated Count Dooku, Anakin discarded the Count's lightsaber, leaving it aboard the Invisible Hand next to its owner's corpse on the ship. Shortly after, the starship crashed into Coruscant with Count Dooku's body and his lightsaber still aboard.
After the Invisible Hand crashed into Coruscant, scavengers were the first on the scene to salvage materials, weapons, and other valuable items. One scavenger, Luca Kinall, went to the wreckage and located the Count's lightsaber. As a Serennian and a historian, Luca took the lightsaber to return it to the Count's home planet of Serenno to memorialise it as a significant cultural piece. The lightsaber remained on Serenno for many years following its return.
However, as time continued, Luca gradually succumbed to the dark whisperings of the dark side of the Force emanating from the bled kyber crystal. Luca stole the lightsaber from the museum he contributed to, fleeing to the planet Vjun at the crystal's behest. He sought to return it to Count Dooku's castle, but once he reached the fortress, he perished at the hands of the indigenous hssiss. There, the lightsaber remained forgotten and well-hidden from prying eyes.
Intent: To introduce a canon Star Wars artifact into SWRP's canon.
