The news tune plays and a camera moves away from the Crime Wach News logo to pan in to the Zeltron and Rodian anchors. The rodian seems enthused by what he is about to announce while the Zeltron, she.. well, she's either spiced high as a kite or completely uncaring of what horrible things are unfolding in the galactic underworld. That smile of hers.. Kriff, that to many men (and women) is as a drug that keeps bringing people back to the Crime Watch News. By the Force she's gorgeous.. unfortunately, its the rodian that's once again the head anchor on this report.
"Welcome to the Crime Watch News, I'm Rynn Run and this is my co-anchor," he ever so subtly nods towards the Zeltron, "-is Vana Walk." she smiles to acknowledge the audience and for a moment it seemed that even the rodian got distracted from the news he was so enthused to share. But not Rynn Ryn, though, no ofcourse not.. he was a serious reporter who would never try to have a fling with his co-anchor. Hah! That's ridiculous. That picture of them together that he has framed on his wall is just because he thinks they're doing good work.. really!
"Our Top Story tonight is one I hope you will all take serious," Rynn tries his best to ignore Vana's enduring smile, who seems unbothered by the news that her co-anchor is about to share with their audience, "Zombies are challenging the Hutt Cartel's control of what we've for millennia called 'Hutt Space'." he paused to allow the viewers the opportunity to look at the screen behind him where a recording of zombified slaves seem completely unbothered by their shock-collars and approach the overseers. The footage stops abruptly once the first four zombified slaves sink their teeth into the horrified weequay slaver. Vana is still smiling at the camera. "Several Hutt Planet have seen a surge of infections over the last month. We here at Crime Watch News implore our viewers not to travel to Hutt Space until the virus is under control."
Vana stops smiling and her eyes shift towards a different camera right, "In other news, the Zaa Fenn Crime Family just saved Senator York's neck-" Rynn suddenly interrupts her and forces the feed back to him and the main camera, "That's unconfirmed slander and hearsay. Senator Maroo confessed to the leak. We here at Crime Watch News regret the troubles Senator York and his family endured during their unfair prosecution by the Prime-Minister and the Sector Rangers." Vana was, ofcourse, referring to the rumors that the Five Syndicates had something to do with the confession but they were only unsubstantiated rumors. Having just saved the network from a costly lawsuit, Rynn allowed the unphased Vana to continue as the autocue-camera once again switched to her, hoping that this time she would actually read it. "With the new Independent System Consortium claiming a large swab of space roughly twice the size currently controlled by the Hutts, they've managed to convince the Republic to form a new Galactic Senate. Bad news for the galaxy's scoundrels and pirates, because they are bound to make less of a profit having to bribe their way through the government officials of the newly 'civilized worlds'-" once again Rynn looked like he was having a fit...
"We -ofcourse- are not implying that officials and representatives of the Galactic Senate or its involved parties; respectfully the Free Worlds Alliance, the Republic, the Independent Systems Consortium or the Jedi Order are corrupt and susceptible to bribes. Now on to other news."
For a moment there Vana Walk's smile flinched as she took a sip of her drink, seeming to dislike the taste of it and looked somewhere off-camera with suddenly distraught eyes before the camera focused back on Rynn Run and the screen behind him. "Our reporters report no news of Preef Callo or Marissa Hesse, but there are other names that have popped up. Namely a Mandalorian Enforcer, Taldorak Trenessar, who seems to be active in the Core world of Coruscant and his name clearly imbues some fear into ranger informants on levels controlled by the Lower Five." Rynn looked at Vana for the next introduction, but then looked at bit worried at his co-anchor. The Zeltron was sweating profusely and her neck-muscles were a lot more visible than before... figuring she couldn't play her cute angle, he refocused on the camera, "The handsome Tacitus Agrippa-" Rynn looked a bit awkward reading out the parts that were especially written for Vana's playful seductive undertones, but he was a professional anchor and the show was live, "-is rumored to be the architect behind bringing the Lower Five into the Zaa Fenn Crime Family. He sure made Preef proud, especially seeing those scoundrels managed to hold their own against the Sector Rangers in a couple skirmishes across Coruscant."
"Crime Watch News also has a scoop of some criminal ingenuity!" the Rodian attempted to smile, but a low groan from off-camera seemed to startle him somewhat. "Ehm, yes. We've heard reports that another star is on the rise in the Five Syndicates. One that plans to reform the labor unions right under the noses of the Hutts."
Suddenly the camera shook and Vana Walk came back into view. Her head and hair covered in sweat, her eyes looking crazy and as she rose from her seat the suddenly increase in muscle mass across her entire body started tearing up her tight-fitting dress. "I kriffing hate this show-" she was heard muttering angrily before he head turned towards the rodian head-anchor, "-and you. Don't think I don't see you watching me. You and your stinking rodian smell. I'm a Zeltron, I know you want me." Her voice became louder and louder while she spoke and now she turned fully towards the clearly startled and embarrassed Rodian, "Vana, what are you doing. We're live."
Suddenly she lunged at the rodian and the camera's went dark. For a second after the Crime Watch News logo popped up there seemed to be a very audible shriek and anguished scream..
What the kriff had just happened?
