Two days had passed since the Jedi had thwarted the assassination attempt of the terrorist organization known as the Black Tendril. It had gone relatively unnoticed to the media, which Nakira considered to be quite ironic. The media was seemingly only interested in the Order if they committed 'heinous crimes', for the holonet's most discussed topic was still the arrest of Master Oren.

Because of all the recent events that had transpired on Naboo, the two Jedi were forced to stay a little longer. Minister Tenara had decided to postpone the interrogations of both the Gungan prisoners and the Jedi, for the arrest had kept the government of Naboo occupied. Keren had been relatively peaceful since the attack, and what was left of the Royal Guard unit kept the city as secure as they could.

Today, the investigation would officially begin, or so Nakira was told. A sector ranger would arrive to assist the Jedi and the Royal Guard in tracking down the bomber and the remaining members of the Black Tendril. While she was relieved to hear that they could finally take a more active role in this crisis, she was a little annoyed by the fact that a sector ranger had to interrogate them first.

Nakira sat down on the comfy sofa that stood in the middle of the richly decorated room. When the minister had told them that they would be treated as guests with the utmost respect, Nakira still had a hard time believing Naboo was truly this hospitable. They lacked absolutely nothing. Even her luggage, which had arrived a day earlier and survived the bombing, had been delivered to her room way before she had arrived despite the crisis.

The Padawan glanced at her master. They had spoken very little during the past few days, mostly because they had been staying in different parts of the building. She had only seen him during dinner, but Tenara had kept them from discussions in private. Until today.

As she looked her master up and down. She couldn't help but notice how little effort he had put in his appearance, especially compared to her Jedi robe. "Are you thinking about Minister Tenara again?" she asked nonchalantly, reaching for her teacup on the coffee table. "If you want to ask her out, I do suggest you start putting some work in your appearance." It hadn't gone unnoticed to her how he interacted with the minister. Taking a sip of her tea, Nakira's hazel colored eyes shifted to meet her master. She was truly curious as to how he would respond.

Something about this entire scenario was ringing some sort of feeling in the Jedi knight. He couldn't quite describe what other than the fact that everything about this felt... familiar. In a deja vu past life sense. A knight and his padawan guarding over the safety of a Naboo politician who became the target in the eyes of nefarious mysterious terrorist organization. How odd. He could of sworn he had seen this somewhere in a corny holomovie with a romantic subplot nobody liked. He was sure. Heck the Padawan was even giving him a sassy attitude.

while debates over whether or not he was reenacting old tropes where entertaining it didn't do much to help the present situation. He was stuck in an admittedly nice estate twittling his thumbs unable to meet with and talk to his Padawan. Which was important because there was so many questions he wanted to ask like what do you know? What do you want to learn? what are your weaknesses? What is the velocity of an unladen swallow... All the important stuff. He couldn't as a matter of security apparently bollocks if you asked him but he didn't write the rules and following them would look a lot better then will getting arrested and having the holonet lit aflame again. Atleast he had that over Oren currently.

While he had to admit though the Tenara was just lovely throughout the entire ordeal. He did look forward to dinner again. Upon hearing Nakira he simply turned towards the coffee table walking over to grab a cup of tea for himself and sat down across the table from Nakira so they could speak face to face.

"I'll have you know that I heard many people describe my appearance as charming in an eccentric way and that you could probably pass this off as 'the latest exciting trend in high fashion'. And as for Minister Tenara I am merely putting my best foot forward to portray the Jedi order in the best light imaginable. " Of course Felix left out the fact that if portraying the Jedi in the best light possible entailed a nice walk along the beaches and riverside with the Minister... well he wouldn't be complaining. Though instead he wanted to try to change the subject to something other than whether or not he wanted to go on a date.

"Though Nakira since we're able to have a conversation in private for once that means we can finally talk about something that's been bugging me I found out I'm your master. Tell me: What do you know and understand of the force so far?

If someone had told him two weeks ago he would be spending half of his field work on Naboo he would have probably laughed. Normally the Mandalorian was tracking some debased fugitive across the least comfortable parts of the outer rim. But the Sector Rangers were building their presence on Naboo namely and since it was the last stop between the Mid Rim to what was further out he found himself enjoying the pleasant air of the paradise planet on the way to the interviews with two Jedi.

Local authorities had first taken point on the incident though the pursuit of information had been delayed. The Sector Rangers were coming in now since it really all matters pertaining to the Jedi were of interest. But Roland especially took an interest in the case. Already two days had gone by in the assassination attempt and it was important that the issue be handled with care. While the Jedi were persons of interest there was a spotlight on the civil rights of Gungans and the rest of the surface dwellers of Naboo which mostly comprised of humans.

Roland had met a few Gungans from time to time when coming and going from Naboo but never paid it any mind until his visits became more frequent. There was a much deeper and chronic issue for the Gungan people and one that somewhat resonated with the Mandalorian. His own people were in hiding still. It was their choice but also due to the anti-Mandalorian sentiment brought about by the purge long ago. It was why even he as a law enforcement officer kept his identity hidden. But he still had the choice to mesh with the rest of society and be a productive citizen of the galaxy. There were rights that law abiding members of the galaxy deserved at the most basic level.

Roland's hand held a datapad containing information regarding other instances of violence prior to the assassination attempt. He Put it back down since he was driving but his thoughts remained on what it contained. Tension was high on Naboo in contrast to its otherwise seemingly pleasant climate. Stay on task. You're here to investigate the assassination attempt, not fix Naboo society. Though the self encouragement did not have much affect on the man focusing his own mind. He still had desires to make change. Part of him knew that he was limited, for now at least.

The land speeder the Mandalorian had taken to the estate came to a stop. The door opened and closed before the armored Ranger made his way across the smooth crunching gravel of the lovely estate. Since he was the late arrival to this meeting he knocked on the door or used whatever device was used for the door. His hooded helm looked upwards at the architecture as he waited before he turned around and took a few idle steps, enjoying the scenery but keeping an ever watchful eye on his surroundings. Roland's badge was displayed on his hip, next to belt not far from his side arm. The man liked to make sure in this instance that if people saw he was armed they would see why.

A smile played about her lips as her master responded. "Right..." it was obvious that the Hapan didn't buy it. As he continued, however, her smile quickly faded and her brow furrowed. "What I know of the Force?" the Padawan was silent for a moment, thinking of a suitable response. "If I gesture, it flings Gungans through the air." she stated, taking another sip of her tea. "Jokes aside, my theoretical knowledge of the Force is fine. I'm familiar with the tenets and philosophy of our Order. But I'm still a novice Force wielder, I don't know much aside from sensing someone's presence and moving objects with the Force." Nakira paused, releasing a short sigh before she continued. She wanted to leave her past behind her, but it was detrimental that her master knew what he was dealing with. "I used to be a member of the Royal Guard on Hapes... Wasn't really my thing, so I resigned..." The Hapan didn't make eye contact with her master as she revealed her origins. "So if we'll run into trouble again, you don't have to worry about me. I can handle myself perfectly fine in combat." She didn't know how her master would react to her honesty, but she hoped he wouldn't think less of her for being a former soldier, given how the Jedi generally opposed anything related to violence.

"But we can talk about this later..." she muttered, catching a glimpse of a servant hurrying through the hallway, in the direction of the entry hall. Nakira placed her teacup back on the table, as she rose from the comfortable sofa. The minister wasn't going to be present during their interrogations today, so she could safely conclude that the person who had arrived was the sector ranger. "He's early, isn't he?"

Her doubt over his statement was about as obvious as the rest of her appearance but that was something Felix could brush aside. What started to turn the gears in his mind was the rest of her response. The joke did bring a smile to Felix's lips but it indicative of something else potentially. He would need to do more missions and training sessions to see if the hunch he was starting to form was correct. Though she would have a lot to learn if she only knew the basics, like the bare basics. It would explain how she tired so fast. Those new to the force struggle with using it efficiently. It's something that you need pointers and practice to get better at. Right now though a lot of potential energy she was using right now was merely waste energy. Felix would need to fix that, and that likely mean he would need to poke and prod at her to get her understand and get used to using the force.

Then the really important information came as she revealed a small slither of her past, it wasn't what she said that told Felix a lot but the way she did it. A hesitation that spoke to avoidance, unwillingness to make eye contact, and the inability to actually give any meaningful details. Just that she was part of the royal guard and left. Felix felt less like he was on Naboo awaiting a ranger and more like he was back at the clinic of his youth talking to veterans and others who had a been through some traumatizing events. Nakira though she was young was no different. Something happened or maybe even a lot and it probably broke her to a degree. She didn't want to talk about it and it was clear she was ashamed of it. Yet still she tried to reassure him that she was still capable. She didn't want to feel useless.

"You're actually trained?! When we get back home we need to do some sparing, you probably got plenty of things you could teach me. Who knows maybe the Master will become the Padawan in that department." He said with a cheerful demeanor. It was true that some conventional combat training would go a long way for the both of them. Felix's training was less formal and more on hand experience from bumming his way around the outer rim so some actual knowledge could help him improve. Plus well it was clear that some trust building would be in order before Felix would be allowed to learn the crux of Nakira's demons.

Though that would need to be delayed as Nakira noticed that a servant was making a b line for the front door. That would likely mean the Ranger and that would mean that it would be time for business. He got up from his seat and began towards the door way leading to hallway.

"He might be late actually, I can't tell. Either way let's greet the chap and get this over with." He responded to Nakira as he motioned her to follow him. Felix would begin to walk towards the entrance with great anticipation. Felix was already psyching himself. He was a jedi and he was to conduct himself as calm, respectful and looking to assist the ranger in whatever way he could. After all someone had to show that the Jedi order weren't a bunch of psychopaths running around with TIE fighters and laser swords. He was closing in on the front door when the Servant opened it and let the man in.

What greeted Felix's eyes was a sight he knew he never wanted to see again. I sight he hoped he would never see again. A Mandalorian visor. Very quickly Felix's mind was set aflame in more ways than one. A scent would start to reach his nostrils. It was the scent of burning flesh and the it was followed by the sound of a man screaming as he burned to death. Backdropped by a burning building on Nar Shadda as he saw a Mandalorian approach him. One who had tried to talk him to go back into that building to go kill people. Those flashes in his brain that felt as just as real as when he first experienced them was being merged with the reality going on as he saw this different Mandalorian and on him was a blaster next to a Ranger badge.

He waited for a bit. His head dropping to look at his tips of his boots. The more he spent on Naboo the more he was convinced this was going to be his retirement planet. The place was goreous and it wasn't a total pushover planet either. If the man wanted excitement there were opportunities in terms of wildlife from what he had read up on the planet.

By the time someone was answering the door the Ranger had his hands on his hips. Roland took a few steps to either side of the door pacing only a meter before turning and patiently taking in the area. He turned as he heard the door open, his badge glinting for a moment and clearly seen by the servant who answered the door. But it was the man behind the servant who caught his attention, mostly because of the facial expression that played across him. It was curious, but not something Roland picked up on completely.

"Afternoon. I'm Ranger Rook." The man made sure to actually turn his head between the servant and the man behind them to let them know he was shifting his gaze between them. He was expecting introductions at least or some kind of indication who to talk to. "I'm not late am I?" He brought up a wrist chrono to make sure that he had adjusted it for the local time. Hopping between planets tended to require a lot of clock adjustments. He needed to get one of those watches that doubled as a personav and didn't need to be reset after every jump.
