(OOC NOTE: Open to Sith Affiliated characters, Syndicate characters, or Indies that have a good reason to be here. Not looking for PvP, just interesting roleplay based around a crime scene.)

Yuri was studying the body of a victim to a simple homicide. It was a middle aged man, who's skin had been carved into with gruesomely spelled 'HA HA HAs' that would've sent chills up the Detective's spine if he hadn't seen this before. "So, Detective, what have you found?" Asked another officer who had been called to the scene before Yuri. "It's the same guy. Slit throat, creepy carvings, and..." Yuri gently turned the head into the light, revealing sloppy makeup that resembled that of a clown's. "Bingo. The Overkill strikes again." Yuri muttered. "You sure it's him? We've had copycats in the past..." Asked the officer.

Because I killed him, dipshit.

Yuri sighed and took out his datapad, opening up the file on the Overkill. There pictures of the victims, and their current victim looked like a match.
"It's him alright." Yuri handed the officer the datapad. "Should...we tell the ISB? I think they have more resources than we do. They could-" Yuri glared up at the officer, his face scars could be perfectly seen in the light. "You really believe the Empire is going to care about a couple of connected murders of some random lowlifes that all wear the same makeup?" Yuri pointed out calmly. The officer gave a nod of his head in agreement. "Then...how are we going to catch this guy?" The officer handed Yuri back his datapad.

There were rumors of a vigilante- a caped crusader that rebelled against the Empire's tyranny on Taris.
"The Mynock Man." Yuri teased, earning a chuckle from the other officer. "As if. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable working with a guy who dresses like a comic book character. He's just as much a clown as the Overkill." This was partially true. But, just maybe, Yuri could gain a bigger audience if the Mynock Man was willing to hunt down the dreaded Overkill. Maybe then, Yuri could climb up the food chain. For now, all the Detective could do was wait to find out.

Hidden above on a high ledge, Konor had crouched down and perched himself there. He would activate both the low-light and thermal settings on his visor. It was true, another victim murdered by this 'Overkill' guy. Serial killers were slowly becoming an uncommon sight in the galaxy, but there were always outliers. Though he primarily fought the empire, his first duty was to the people of Taris. That included hunting down psychopaths like this one.

Over the caped crusader's shoulder was a small P-0-TC Surveillance Droid. He had only brought one of them for this mission, but it would be perfect for gathering evidence. A voice would be heard in his helmet commlink, "Master Konor, I have heard reports of a heinous murder in your area. Do be cautious." The vigilante would quickly reply, "Already on it 3P0, I'm looking at the victim now. Go ahead and set Seeker One to record..."

A small green light would blink on the surveillance droid, causing it to start recording all it saw. The droid would then float high above the scene, looking down on the mutilated body. It would capture footage of the various injuries. They were the standard MO of this guy Taris Police called Overkill. For now, he would continue listening in.

Yuri stood up and took off his doctors gloves, throwing them away in a nearby trash can. "Forensics will be arriving shortly. Maybe they'll find a clue..." Yuri told the officer before something in the corner of his eye caught his attention. A playing card was wedged into a holographic projector that could fit in your palm. "What is it?" Asked the officer, noticing what Yuri did. "Not sure..." He quickly put on a new pair of gloves and picked up the projector. The playing card was the Overkill's trademark Joker card. Yuri yanked the card out of the projector and the machine turned on.

Then, the Overkill himself appeared in the hologram. He was wearing a frowning clown mask, and his voice was disfigured, so identifying him was going to be hard.
"Good evening, Officers, I see you found my failed disappearing act." The message was pre-recorded so Yuri could play along, but as far anyone else could tell, they were having a simple conversation. "I'd start tracking the signal if I, uh, were you...hmhmhehehahahahmmm..." Cackled Yuri's alter ego. The officer scrambled for his signal tracer while Yuri glared at himself.

"What ever you're playing at- what ever you're planning...We will catch you and I'll put bullet in that crazy head of yours myself." Yuri threatened. However, the Overkill only cackled again like a mad hyena, "No...no...You haven't finished the game yet. You want to, um, find me? Uh, you gotta follow...the little...bread crumbs...HA HA HAAA HAHAHA-" The feed cut and the machine short circuited as Yuri had intended it to. "Damn it! I almost caught the signal. It came from the Shipyard district." Yuri cursed and slammed his fist onto the wall before quickly scanning the Joker card with his datapad. "Get the boys up and ready, search every inch of the district until you find something." Yuri ordered, and the officer gave a quick nod. "What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to wait for Forensics. This card has prints, but they belong to three separate people. My datapad doesn't have Taris' database on it, so the squints can handle it. They might be the Overkill's next targets."

The surveillance droid would zoom in on the playing card as it was discovered. This was supposedly the killer's calling card, and the two detectives on the job would say as much. Konor had heard rumors of such murders, it was no surprise that the Sith sent the police no help. It took thousands of deaths to gain that kind of attention.

The vigilante would narrow his eyes as the holoprojection came on. The figure before them was obviously crazy, but also had a hint of cleverness to him. Mynock Man had already pulled out his own signal tracer, and would receive a strong transmission from the shipyards. That was where the signal was suppose to be coming from, and he wouldn't waste any time.

He would sneak away from the scene along the rooftops, and would jump into a parked Mynockmobile. It wouldn't take long for the jet black patrol speeder to get into the air, and soon take off into the direction of the shipyards.

After the Squints, as Yuri liked to call them, came to ID the body and the playing card, the Detective got a ride to the shipyards as well. "Detective Sokolov! He found the building and we've set a perimeter." Said Officer Wills from before. Yuri nodded and made his way into the warehouse with four other officers, all of which had their blaster pistols drawn and at the ready. "Hey..." Yuri thought he spotted movement and motioned for the other officers to follow him.

They made their way down a dark corridor before stopping at a partially opened door. Static from a radio station could be heard from inside. Very carefully, Yuri went in first only to find a computer monitor with a timer counting down from thirty seconds. None of this made sense- who was here with them? Who did Yuri see? Well, the Overkill knew, but the Detective was clueless.

One officer screamed and fired shots down the corridor which led to the others doing the same. However, there was return blaster fire that followed. Wills made it in the room and locked the door.
"Yuri! It's an ambush! They're all over the place!" The poor officer looked terrified- which filled the Overkill with overwhelming glee. "What is it? What's out there? We can't stay here- I think this place is going to blow!" Yuri was going to look for another exit, but the sound of something big banging on the locked door grabbed his attention. "It's one of them infected, Detective! But...they're different. Smarter...or something. They have blasters."

Yuri watched the timer count down; twenty seconds left. Then, he glanced at the metal door that began to bang out of beat with the timer.
"We'll make it out." Yuri swore and scourged the room for another chance of escape. There was a barred window, but with fursioncutters, they might just be able to make it out in time.
