Eckaaso sighed softly as his ship led the small formation of ships in hyperspace. As they traveled together, they had less chances to be attacked by pirates and other assorted scoundrels in the way, and also made sure that no one got lost. It had been a while since the Kaleesh had wished to lead such an expedition, and finally the moment had arrived. He ws accompanied by other three knights to make sure everything went well, and for safety reasons. Dantooine may have been a tranquil world with large grassy plains, but you never know what they could meet once there.

He tapped on the communicator and linked to the other ships. "Alright, soon we'll be arriving to Dantooine. Once we land there, I want you to stick together and don't leave the group until we reach the temple. I'm not sure what to expect, since I haven't been on Dantooine before" he admitted. After a few minutes, the group of ships finally popped out of hyperspace. Eckaaso turned to look at his co-pilot and his other two passengers, who were one knight and two of the Padawans that would have to pass the trial. The knight was Ash Valentine ( @Shax ) while the Padawas were Nax-el Vashee ( @Naxel ) and Rhea Nadal ( @Lyrael ). The Kaleesh smiled, then turned back to face the planet. "Welcome to your next major step on the path towards knighthood, Padawans."

OOC: If anyone doesn't have a ship to fly with, feel free to stow away in mine, I've got plenty of space.

"Of course, Shyn, we will be right behind you." Luth watched the blue wavy aura of hyperspace surround the small group of ships. To be honest, Luth hasn't flown with anyone in another ship in a long time, so this was refreshing to him. "Do not fret about Dantooine, my friend, it is a peaceful planet, I've been there a couple of times myself. But I do understand your caution, so we'll be careful." Luth tried to ease the mind of the Knight. Dantooine is a planet he sometimes visited during his trader's youth. It was in the Outer Rim so sometimes the planet had to bring in supplies from the Inner Rim.

Luth turned to the person sitting in the co-pilot's seat. Nara Allam (@Charndley) was a young woman, but quite fiery. The girl seemed to have an affinity for various technological titbits, at least from what he could see from her droid, so he let her sit next to him. The glowy technological doodads should keep her distracted for the trip. She wasn't the only one on the ship of course there were several others in the back. He flipped a switch as the ship's intercom system came online. "Alright everyone we are about to drop out of hyperspace, I suggest you come to the cockpit to see the pretty views." He leaned back into his seat, waiting for Eckaaso's order to drop out. He turned to Nara, watching her with interest. "And how are you feeling? Excited for the Gathering, I imagine."

Luth still remembers his Gathering. It was an enlightening experience, yet he knew a couple of Jedi who technically speaking failed it. Of course a kyber crystal was not necessary to being a Jedi, but he still hoped everyone here would be able to find one. It really was a special thing, to find that one crystal that is meant specifically to you and allow it to tune to yourself. Giving off a small smile, he dropped out of hyperspace with Eckaaso's ship, making sure his ship was still in formation, never trailing behind the lead ship. "There it is... Dantooine."

Nara's eyes scanned over all the console in front of her. Buttons flashed. Gauges glowed. Dials winked right at her. She was tempted to touch and play and twizzle, wondering exactly what each and every thing did there. A couple of times, her fingers twitched in anticipation... but no. She'd learned her lesson about pushing random buttons in ships that didn't belong to her. She'd never get that swamp dirt out from under her fingernails.

On the side of the co-pilot's seat, her droid snoozing softly. He was charging while he still could. Scuffed, beat-up and quite visibly melded together from separate parts, Three-B was her messy, strange, sometimes-insane droid. As he charged, he shuddered and squeaked out a couple of betting odds quietly. "Ignore him, it's the logic board. I took it from an old gambling den terminal."

She turned to look at Luth and nodded. "Yeah, kinda. Just not sure what's gonna happen, y'know. I read it was kinda tough?" she asked him, arms folding loosely around herself. Her Master couldn't be there for the Gathering, he'd been too busy on one of his many explorations or missions. Instead, he'd given her a stack of holobooks and references from the archives to read about the Gathering. She'd managed to make it around, oh, maybe a good twenty pages or so through one before deciding she never wanted to read about it again. The other padawans, though, all they could talk about was what happened if you couldn't find one? Or what if it split? What if you found it and lost it? It was the nature of all learners through the galaxy to fret and worry about the very worst case scenario and Nara was no exception. She felt the worry inside herself... but she pushed it down. She wouldn't show that kind of weakness in front of the other Padawans and the Knights.

Instead, she busied herself by watching Luth pilot. Making mental notes of what button did what thing, which level worked for which function. Taking special notice of what made the jump to hyperspace. When the ship dropped just ahead of Dantooine, Nara smiled as she looked out at the planet. The turquoise swirl of land and water; the wispy whiteness of cloud formations. And just a feeling deep inside her of... peace? It already felt like a special place.

This. This is where I get my crystal, she vowed to herself.

Time seemed to be a constant in Fiach’s life right now. She’d only recently been on Klatooine, where the passing of centuries was greeted with significant reverence, for it was ingrained in their culture. And since her chance encounter with three Jedi in the desert of her home-world, time has been not following its usual pattern. Some things seem to have elapsed so slowly and yet others seem to have flown by. Like her progress since that fortuitous meeting.

And here she was, not only no longer technically able to call Klatooine home, but she was on board a space ship with…Jedi. If she hadn’t seen with her own eyes what these Force sensitives were able to do, she would not have believed it and dismissed talk of Jedi and Sith as fables – stories told to entertain children. Yet here she was, not only amongst them but – and she still had to pinch herself to believe it – actually one of them.

The Jedi Luth Tropam had kindly offered to transport her to Dantooine. She knew little of the planet, only what she’d been able to glean from Jedi records. Like her former home, it was in the Outer Rim and was once headquarters for the Rebel Alliance – albeit over a century ago.

She was brought out of her thoughts by an announcement over the ship’s internal communications. Smiling, she headed towards the cockpit. Dropping out of hyperspace was still a novelty to her and seeing planets in space was something she was unsure she would ever fail to find exhilarating. She arrived just in time, as the streaks of light coalesced into tiny pin-pricks that elicited a soft, “Ooh,” from the Padawan.

Rhea had spent the majority of the trip studying the inside of Eckaaso's ship, never having seen one designed exclusively for exploration before; it was an exercise in willpower not to pry open the odd panel and take a peek inside. She entertained the idea of just watching something on the HoloNet until they arrived, but considering the privilege of what they were doing, and the company she was keeping, it seemed a bit too childish.

So she sat for the last few hours, hands in her lap, trying to contain the various thoughts racing through her mind as they came out of hyperspace above the verdant green-and-blue sphere below. Dantooine. Despite the fact she'd lived on a jungle world for years now, she still found the sight of it breathtaking, a far improvement - in her mind - over the sterilized gray of the Core worlds. She crept forward slightly, hands resting on the shoulders of their escorting knights as she admired the view - though she did leave room for Nax as well, mindful not to hog the sight from her fellow Padawan.

"It's beautiful... but I'm kind of surprised a temple could be found in a place like this. It's remote, I guess, but it is on a major hyperspace lane. Not exactly hidden from the Empire, right?" It seemed she might have been making some assumptions about it's time of activity. When the Kaleesh asked they all stick together, she nodded her assent, and once he was finished speaking over the comms, she spoke again; "Thank you for arranging all this, Master Shyn. I've been looking forward to this for years."

Ash sat back against the chair and reflected on his own adventure to acquire his lightsaber. He didn't have this kind of group fieldtrip to Dantooine, nope, just him and his teacher wandering around Christophsis on a rumor about a kyber cache. He wasn't going to say it was easy, it still had its fair share of force induced trials to be sure, it was just different. His own two Padawans were supposedly getting their crystals today, so he was a little anxious. He didn't want them getting hurt -not that he wanted any of them to get hurt- and was second guessing all the meager teachings he had given them.

He had never been the biggest fan of flying, though he was a passable pilot. Being in space always made him uncomfortable, but he wasn't going to complain about it. He dutifully ran through his copilot duties as they were assigned by he fellow Jedi knight as they dropped out of hyperspace. Dantooine, much like most planets when viewed from space was a gorgeous world and a spectacle of cosmic beauty and scale.

He got out of his seat so that the two Padawans could get a better view and gave Rhea a kind, proud smirk. He let them enjoy themselves as they made their descent before he sent a message to his other Padawan, Zashtee. It was a quick 'Are you ok over there?' as the younger man had been put on the other ship flown by Ash's peer Luth. It wasn't necessary, he knew the togruta would be alright, but it was for his own peace of mind. Space travel always made him anxious after all.

The remnants of that mornings breakfast fell into the ship's vac tube. The Togruta rose from his bent over position, wiping his mouth on his robes. Space travel was never pleasant and a wave of dizziness always washed over him when entering hyperspace. Space sickness remained a mystery to him, but it usually passed once exiting hyperspace. The holocommuicator on his belt buzzed, signaling a message from the Jedi's master. He replied swiftly, "Peachy."

Zashtee loathed the fact that his space faring experiences were plagued by nausea. This time in particular, however he had much t look forward to at the destination. Obtaining a kyber crystal for his lightsaber would open doors the padawan had not yet explored. Not only that, but the experience itself was said to be enlightening.

When the message came through the ships intercom system, Zashtee made his way to the cockpit to join the others. The ships had already dropped out of hyperspace by the time he'd made it, though he really didn't mind missing that particular experience. The planet itself, though, was gorgeous. "I see we made it," he said, speaking to everyone in the cockpit of Luth's ship.

Luth nodded to Nara since he understood her concerns. He was in the same situation all those years ago. "There is a reason why some Jedi never get a crystal, but it isn't usually their fault. Sometimes the Force has a different path intended for us than what we have in mind." Luth gave Nara a reassuring smile. "Just trust your instincts, you'll do fine."

Luth noticed the Padawans making their way into the cockpit. He silently judged their reactions, both on the outside and with the Force. Nara's calm, yet determined outlook upon the planet itself. Fiach's silent amazement of the planet and her situation. And Zashtee felt like he was glad this whole thing was over. He spared the Togruta a glance as if to ask if he was okay, before turning back to the controls.

He looked to Dantooine and it's serene like wild untamed grasslands. He smiled to himself. This is where their journey towards being a true Jedi, just like me when I was but a learner. Since they still had some time before they went planetside, Luth swivelled on his chair to face the young Padawans. He sincerely smiled towards each and every one of them, happy to be a part of their apprenticeship, before starting. "Remember each and every single of you will be the next generation of Jedi. All of you have shown great proficiency in using the Force, so this should be fairly simple for you. Just remember your training, trust your feelings and the Force, and you'll get through just fine." He thought for a moment and decided he didn't wanna leave it on such a serious note. "Oh, and no pressure. Don't need any of you feinting before we even get there." He added jokingly.

Fiach was unsure at the Jedi Knight’s comments. Her respect for people in general and Jedi Knights in particular meant she would not contradict him, but to say she had shown great proficiency with the Force?

Sure, she could feel it, but to her it is like knowing there’s something hidden in the sand while you’re skimming above it on your speeder bike. You would see ripples on the surface, hints that something is moving down there – maybe something tiny like a rock beetle, maybe something the size of a krayt dragon – living a completely different life…and one out of your sight. And going after it to see what’s underneath the surface might be safe and rewarding, or it might be the last thing you ever do. She was still unsure when she should jump into those ripples and when to keep a safe distance.

The standard response was that ‘she would know’ – which was no doubt wise and inscrutable but of limited help. But she held firm to her mantra of believing she would do the right thing instinctively and always pressed on.

But this was, for Fiach at least, a far cry from what she was about to be asked to do. Or had she volunteered? And did it matter?

She was about to seek a kyber crystal, a lightsaber crystal, a living crystal. They were relatively rare, she knew, and once part of a lightsaber would give form to the energy from the power cell as super-heated plasma that arced at the top and returned to the hilt. She was good with the technical aspects and the bookish stuff, it was the practical that concerned her. For she’d heard that the Force guided their selection, finding a crystal that matched them as Jedi. To those not meant to receive it, a crystal would be cold to the touch. But what if none of the crystals were in harmony with her?

She shook her head, a subtle movement but it was enough to banish the thoughts of negativity from her mind. The final joke did little to help her composure, so she closed her eyes and repeated one word over and over in her mind…trust.

Once calmed, she opened her eyes once more and felt ready for whatever the Force had in store for her.

The Kaleesh hummed lightly as they slowly entered the planet's atmosphere, and soon the two ships were flying over the windy and lush green planes of Dantooine. Eckaaso frowned as he examined the coordinates at which the old Temple was meant to be located at, and sighed softly in relief. At Rhea's question, he answered simply "Over a century ago, Dantooine hosted a Rebel Alliance base, and it has been also theatre to the Declaration of the Rebel Alliance made by former Imperial senator Mon Mothma. Apart from this, the planet hasn't been really touched by Imperials, and there are remnants of several Jedi structures and temples that have been built millennia before. We're headed to one of these temples, the most important one: the Jedi Enclave. There it is" he said as the ruins of the building quickly appeared on the horizon.

They landed in the large courtyard in front of the building, and soon Eckaaso lowered the exit ramp so they could step out of the ship.

The day had finally come for the young Padawan when he came aboard the ship in which was owned by Master Shyn. Even though Nax-el was a young fresh padawan he wasn’t over excited that the day of, hopefully, obtaining a lightsaber has come. On the outside he played it off cool, calm, and collected, but on the inside he was just enough excited to be deemed appropriate. Though, the entire trip, Nax-el didn’t feel like being bored the whole trip, so he decided that he would take a nap until they arrived on Dantooine. It was good, because no one must have noticed and just allowed him to stay asleep.

When arriving to dantooine, Nax-el missed seeing the world from space down to the surface. It didn’t bother him too much due to the fact that there was a possibility of him missing it if he slept the whole trip. It wasn’t until he was thrown out of his seat upon landing when he knew that they had arrived. His face slammed hard onto the floor of the ship, but the noise of the exit ramp opening made him ignore the pain for a brief moment. Once making it out side he was amazed by the beauty of the planet. “Wow... this is an amazing world.” quietly saying to himself as he stayed next to the ship until the master and others came out.

Within a minute of him enjoying the view of Dantooine the pain, from hitting the ships floor, started to slowly become noticeable to Nax-el. He grabbed his face while a couple tears started to fall from his right eye. “Man that really hurt. Next time i’ll just sleep on the floor.” Thinking to himself has he kept holding his face, and waited for the others.

Shal had been kneeling and meditating in the cargo hold of Tropam's, space travel had always made him uneasy as he always felt most comfortable in nature, surrounded by plants and animal, rather the cold and hard surface of metal that ships were made of. meditating help him forget his surroundings and focus on the force.

Feeling the land gear make contact with the solid ground, Shal slowly opened his eyes before standing to his height and making to the ramp and out of the ship. he noticed the padawan shedding tears while hiding his and approached him, going to one knee to try and match the padawans height, "show me where it hurts" he said softly with a warm smile.

"Wow." was all she could say in response to the historical correction. She'd have never imagined a place like this held such importance in galactic history. It was a veritable sea of green; soft, rolling lowlands of grass in every direction, only occasionally broken up by the random tree or hill, or... large Jedi ruin.

It was a little heartbreaking to look at. A little eerie, too, if she were honest; she could make out just enough detail to compare it to the temple on Ajan Kloss. The two weren't exactly the same, but close enough that she could imagine what it looked like before it fell into this state. She was distracted from her thoughts as they touched down, hearing a thud on the metallic floor in the back, quickly followed by the lowering of the exit ramp. Maybe a piece of luggage came loose?

She took a quick look to check, but nothing seemed disturbed or out of place. Shrugging it off as her imagination, she made her way outside, only to see a crying Nax-el.

Oh.

"Nax-el, are you okay?" She asked, rushing over to the younger padawans side, though mindful not to get in the way of Master Urlu, who was already looking to tend to his hurts.

Trust your instincts. Trust your feelings. Trust the Force.

She tried to keep that mantra running through her mind. It certainly sounded like something her Master would say, so she knew it was probably wise to keep it in her mind. Still though, she'd never been good at trusting in much of anything. The other padawans arrived around her and Nara took them in, offering short, nervous smiles to them. At least she wasn't on her own in this. They'd all be going through this together. Though she drew the line at helping wipe up vomit.

The ships flew in closer and closer, Dantooine overwhelming their vision. Grassy wilds flicked past them, travelling further and further until the ships settled on the courtyard outside the Enclave. Nara headed out, after putting her droid back in her backpack, feeling a little fidgety about what was lying ahead.

Even just stepping off the pad, she knew this was a special place. She could feel it. Something in the Force around them, swirling. She might've said it was almost sparkling with energy... if that didn't sound like the stupidest thing she'd ever thought. Luckily, she was distracted by the commotion by the other ship. One of the other padawans looked a little hurt. Nara hung back, not wanting to crowd the poor kid. It looked quite sore.

Instead, she turned to take in the Enclave. They'd said it was millenia old and it certainly looked it. She felt a little twinge, just beneath her sternum. She moved her hand there, pressing it, wincing slightly. Not pain, but a strangeness in her. The Force. Feeling. She felt the lingering remnants of old Jedi. The tiny, subtle traces that their work and their lives had left. The melancholy of lives long passed, tales never told, names no longer said.

"Wow. This is... quite the place."

Dantooine was certainly idyllic. It had gentle rolling fields and clear blue skies. T'was a pretty place. Pretty boring as well he supposed. Its history probably didn't interest him as much as it should have considering its significance to both the former galactic rebellion and the old Jedi order. He was never a big history guy anyway. This did seem like the perfect place for him to relax however; there was just something serene about these Jedi ruins that made him want to sit down for a moment and contemplate. Which was a strange, alien feeling considering he never once in his life felt the urge to slow down.

He stepped off the ship, not particularly interested in admiring the place any further. One strange alien feeling was enough for him thanks. He stretched his limbs for a few moments and wandered around the courtyard as the other Jedi were getting themselves situated. It truly was impressive how the Jedi of old built to last. He wouldn't expect the temple at Ajan Kloss to survive the millenia that the Dantooine temple had -disregarding the state it was in, it seemed pretty complete- let alone the next couple of decades if you took into account all the chores they made you do.

There was some hubbub about a Padawan that he didn't really pay attention too. He'd let the tree do the work there seeing as he was already over there and Ash was not. He gave them about fifteen seconds after he finished his quick jaunt before speaking out in his usual raspy voice, "Alright people, lets get a move on. C'mere and let my friend Eckaaso explain to you whats going on." To be honest Ash was curious himself, he had never been on this side of the gathering before.

Eckaaso hummed softly as he walked out of the ship, followed by his BG astromech and the other passengers on his ship, and walked to the middle of the courtyard, a serene expression visible behind his mask. He may have been a brutal warrior, but this still was an important place for the Order. "Alright, now I'll explain you how it'll go" he said as he turned towards the Padawans and fellow Knights. The Kaleesh was holding a large bag he gently dropped in front of him.
"Each of you will be given a small kit consisting of a vibrosword, a medpack, some food rations, and a drone equipped with a flashlight. If you have an agile droid with an integrated flashlight or tools, you're free to keep it. Anyone of you who's currently carrying a training lightsaber, they have to give it to me. Once everyone's ready, we will go inside. Be careful: this is an ancient Jedi temple, you never know what you could find. It may not be as dangerous as some Sith tombs, but still.
Once inside, we will take you in the depths of the building, where there should be a passage that will bring us to the crystal caves underneath. There, you will split and go each their way, although I think I'll allow a pairing, for the kid there. No offence, but I honestly don't want that a youngling gets lost or worse" he said, looking at Nara. "Who will come with her?" he asked the other Padawans.

It would be hard to picture a planet more different to the one that, up until very recently, Fiach had called home. Of course, when compared to a desolate arid desert planet, any other terrain could be described as different – but short of a water planet, this was as dissimilar as Fiach could imagine.

Everywhere she looked there were trees – it seemed Dantooine had an endless canopy. And then there were the plains, oddly similar to her home planet, given the lack of features and an apparent lack of an end to the sprawl. But given the bearable heat and lack of sand and dust that permeated every nook and cranny imaginable (and some you couldn’t imagine) it was – in her humble opinion – as different as could be.

Not that she’d be sight-seeing, as their mission was to go underground.

She joined the others as they gathered around the Jedi Knights as requested and listened intently. Once or twice her eyebrows raised at what was being shared. On one hand the Order seemed to be very protective of them, her training to date was all about what she was capable of – without even a hint of trying anything stretching and certainly without any hint of danger. But right her, right now, the rules had changed. Or maybe they hadn’t Fiach mused. Maybe they’re the same and it is my perception that had altered. One thing she’d been since she’d joined the Order, was a sponge. She soaked up all learning and if she wasn’t practicing, she was reading. And if not reading she was speaking with an elder to gain whatever knowledge she could from them. But she was acutely aware that a day in the Order was exactly the same length as a day back on Klatooine. You only had so many hours and so there was a finite amount of time to accomplish things. Which was a main reason she was here. She chose to forgo lessons to gain her own crystal. The timing was right and who knew when she’d have another opportunity.

So, she took the pack offered. She had no training saber to hand back and no droid for company. Then she glanced at the unfortunate soul that was getting all the attention for the wrong reasons and Fiach raised her hand. “I’d be glad to accompany Nara.”

Nara listened closely to the Knight's instructions and made her way towards the large bag. Almost sensibly, single-file waiting to get her pack. She knelt down a little to the side, in the grass, slipping the medpacks and food rations into her own pack. Her droid, Three-B, poked his head out from inside. He whirred as Nara patted his head.

"How's your light working, buddy?"
she asked him. He fluttered and a little telescopic pole poked from part of his head, a dark plastic casing at the top of it. The spotlight flicked on, half-blinding Nara. She raised one hand to try and stop it, the other swatting her droid playfully.

"Okay, yeah, I get it, stop showing off," she told him, rolling her eyes as she tried to blink through the light-blind spots in her vision. She listened to the rest of the instructions as she held her vibroblade, feeling the strange weight of it in her grasp. Listening as close as she could, until...

"Hey, who are you calling a kid? Half of these guys are younger than me!" she said, frowning as she turned back towards the Knight and stood up, looking sore. She tried to hold back the snippiness but it was just a little too much. It'd been a very, very long time since anyone had called her anything like a kid.

Well, maybe Oren did, secretly. But he wouldn't dare do it to her face.

But someone volunteered. Nara looked at the other Padawan and nodded. "Yeah, sure. If I need a babysitter so bad, I guess I could do worse," she complained as she stepped over towards the taller, slender girl. Standing next to her, she folded her arms around herself, obviously still a little fed up with the descriptor.

Fiach was definitely not taking pity on her fellow Padawan – but she had put herself forward as she did not feel comfortable that Nara had been singled out. Sure, they were all at different points of their development, but none of them were Knights and up until now, Fiach had been of the opinion she was the least capable one here. But their masters had decided they were up for the mission, and she was sure they should trust that judgement.

She half-smiled at Nara’s response – maybe it lacked a degree of respect, but she’d been told that arrangement worked both ways. “Oh, and I’m no babysitter, let’s clear that up now. We’re a team and have each other’s backs. We need to be able to trust each other – and I wouldn’t have volunteered if I didn’t have faith in you. We’ll do perfectly fine…the Force will be with us.”

She folded her arms in a mirror of Nara’s stance. Defiant? Maybe. Making it clear she would not approve of any more criticism of Nara? Absolutely.

After setting down the ship, Luth followed the Padawans to Eckaaso. The calm nature of Dantooine greatly easing his mind and reaffirming that his thought all the young ones were ready for the Gathering. Nodding to his fellow Knights, he listened to Eckaaso's explanation of the Gathering's proceedings. He was slightly surprised when he allowed a pairing for Nara, the youngest person here.
Luth studied Nara's reaction carefully and was thankful that Fiach would offer to go with her, but Nara's reaction to it was slightly off-putting.

He noticed the tension between Nara and Fiach, so he decided to step in. "Remember that either way, the trials you face in the caves will be your own. No one can beat them but you." He explained to the both of them, before looking towards Nara. "Thing of this as reassurance for the worst case scenario, which I doubt will happen, but it's better better safe than sorry."
