"For centuries, the Sith have fought against their Jedi kin in numerous long and bloody conflicts over their fundamental differences in the philosophies of the Force. Harnessing the Dark Side of the Force, and empowered by the collective knowledge of the ancient dead interred on Moraband, the Sith Order practice rituals to deepen their connection with the darkness. However, theirs is a broken order, shattered after centuries of attrition and further weakened by ambitions and infighting. The Lords of the Sith are a proud people, who refuse to recognize the destruction of their once great civilization. Never lacking for ambition, however, the Sith Lords now seek to rebuild anew, striking out from ancient and scattered worlds to bring about the destruction of the Republic, once and for all."

So! This is more or less an 'early interest' thread for the people planning on going Sith in the next timeline. With the Order weakened and scattered, we have a great opportunity to do some interesting roleplay with the Sith faction this go around. Following a devastating loss to the Jedi and the Republic, we can either work together to restore our collective glory or let the infighting consume us all again, with everyone pursuing their own individual goals. The character I'm planning on using will be in the Sith sorcerer archetype, a conniving political type whose more or less focused on studying the Dark Side and manipulating both enemies and allies into doing his dirty work instead of forcing his will on people. Think Frank Underwood in a Sith cloak. I'm interested in seeing who else'll be starting out Sith and what your goals are, and maybe we can start working on plans or strategies for when the timeline starts.

Credit to @Saul for collecting these lists, but this is our tentative roster for the next timeline!

I will be running both a Sith and a Jedi. My focus will probably be more on my Sith character. Working on my Ewok idea, but actually taking it seriously than my side comments suggest. He is kind of built for the task of rebuilding the Order, taking advantage of his own appearance to seem like not much of a threat at all while he wreaks havoc and corruption from within to swell the followers of the darkside. I am kind of going with a proto-Sidious kind of theme with him being a sort of a puppet master behind the scenes that will influence as many as possible around before they realize they are all being played. I kind of see our characters being rivals in a way, based on your idea, Dakota, though Naro is going to be a lot less political and more that furry hand from behind the curtain.

You might wanna check out the Timeline Announcements. You can't join two Main Factions. You must either have a Jedi OR a Sith character. You can't have one Jedi AND a Sith character. You can, however, have TWO Sith and one Indie, or two Indie and one Sith. Or two Jedi and one Indie/One Jedi and two Indie.

I totally misread that announcement then, what I get for reading it right before bed after a looooooong day/night. Awesome, so I'll be running a Sith and an Indie.

That's basically what I'm going for also. I like having to go outside the box for things like that instead of using force, so it would be interesting to have that kind of rivalry aspect.

Well you all know I'm definitely RPing in the Sith, as usual. I'm going to have a nefarious Sorcerer named Serebin and my Warrior, Andromeda.

That'll be the key difference, I'll be abusing the Force mercilessly not for direct control of someone but influence on their actions and emotions, especially emotions.

I'll be probaly sticking with a Warrior or sort, a soldier type of guy maybe. Too early to say.

I think roleplaying as Sith will be much more fun than before, think of all the rivalry, competition and secret plotting as we try to bring ourselves back to our former glory. Oh man.

I'm going for a 1940s/WWII aesthetic with Andromeda's bio this time around, as opposed to the cybergoth theme I had going on this timline. I'm still trying to figure out how to structure it though. Serebin is influenced by the Victorian era and avant-garde. He wears fur shawls with his silk robes, drinks absinthe and smokes cigarettes.

I love the one main faction rule....but damn it really sucks.

Planned on making a Sith Assassin type, then bailed on the idea and instead will make my one FS an Indie. That being said I will still stalk all the ideas in this thread. Honestly I hope you guys kick some ass, like I want the Sith to really beat up the Jedi this next Timeline.

So that begs the question, which one of you Sith will be PvP focused?

@Mr.BossMan

I'll be using Andromeda for PvP, but Serebin has no combat abilities whatsoever.

That's cool I @Marf like I said before I hope y'all beat the crap out of the Jedi.

Also I really liked the idea how Sith could become spirits, that's pretty dang cool.

I meant force as in physical force, not the Force. I'll be using the Force a lot, considering it's the character's area of expertise (I decided to scale back his physical strength and compensate with higher force affinity, mostly because Sith sorcery/alchemy intrigues me a lot). But I like what you're going for, I never really considered the idea of an Ewok going Sith before.

Also, I believe you can have multiple FS characters, but you can only have one in a main faction. That being said, I'll be looking for a balanced approach. Advancement throughout the Sith or Jedi ranks in this timeline is hinged on combat ability, so I'll likely implement Sith sorcery and Force powers into the combat style so it isn't a straight forward fight. This character also uses a Sith Sword as his primary weapon instead of his lightsaber, so that should add some interesting new avenues for PvP.

I would really love for our characters to interact some. Serebin was loosely inspired by Vitiate from SWTOR in terms of themes, personality, aesthetic and such. His character is all about grotesque methods of prolonging life, halting age and the extremes of vanity. He's addicted to the Drain Life technique like an illicit drug, and drains the life essence of stray animals and young women to get his fix.

Of course! It'll be an interesting dichotomy. He respects people who not only have the natural predilection to the Dark Side necessary to delve deep into the Force/sorcery, but also dedicate their time to mastering it. He likely won't agree with his life choices or personality, but bygons. Maybe he can act as Serebin's leash going into the rebuilding of the Order, keeping him on track so he doesn't blow the Sith's presence to the entire galaxy by killing random people.

See, I get bored with Sith who are too controlled, I like to give them realistic, gritty weaknesses, especially when they are young. I will be writing alot about the side effects of Drain Life aswell as Serebin's physical condition. Most of the time he's so ill he can't fight. I think it would be really fun for him to have a sensible friend or sorc-buddy to keep him in line.

Depends on his age; I have L'hannas at about early forties going into this timeline, so he'll likely be developing some more symptoms of corruption and degradation as well. I doubt it'll be something akin to friendship, given the way they operate, but rather a mutual respect for one another's skill and working for mutual benefit. Either way, its a really interesting scenario that I'm looking forward to starting.

I'm planning on making myself a Sith inspired somewhat by Pavlov's Dogs. It wasn't the intention at first, but when I described the character to a friend of mine not on this site and he mentioned it, I realised it fit very well. The very basic idea is that her parents conditioned her from a young age to obey, never complain, do whatever they said when they said, etc. so that they could turn her into the perfect little actress through which they could achieve the fame and fortune they'd never been good enough actors to achieve on their own. She's pretty much a Sith character with no self-esteem or confidence in herself that was conditioned from a young age to obey those above her. She's broken away from it somewhat, but will definitely be prone to relapsing, especially amongst the devious, conniving Lords of the Sith.

I have no idea yet if I'm going to base her on one of the common Sith tropes, but if I was then the Assassin trope would probably fit her best, given her tendency to acquiesce to those that display power. I'm looking forward to RPing her with some other Sith, especially the devious and manipulative!

I think I'll be using a sith as my second in part to support the development of my primary member of the sacred band having the dark magic weilding manipulator seems like a fun aspect I'm thinking of a slightly less martial version of Maul from the clone wars one who is dead set on rebuilding the status of the sith by blackmail, threats and occasionally openhanded violence more of a well dressed diplomat who you really don't want to piss off because he can open that can of whoop ass if needed

I plan or creating a Sith Harch, perhaps a bit similar to the one I made before I realized that this timeline was about to end...I have this vision of a Sith Harch wielding six sabers, running around trying to overthrow his superiors and claiming the title of Dark Lord of the Sith for himself! *Cue maniacal cackling* I just imagine him with the voice of Admiral Trench from TCW, granted that's probably not too surprising considering how he's the only Harch we've seen. :P
