Death Watch

The tradition of Death Watch is old as the Mandalorian people itself. Historically Death Watch was an element of the Mandalorian religion, believed to be sent by the gods in judgement of societies actions. While some still remember the roots of the organization, more recently the name Death Watch has been used for its recognition and the fear associated with it. In the five years following the destruction of Tython at the hands of the Sith, the once disavowed organization has reemerged in secret. Headed by the Duke of House Ordo, Death Watch has returned to oversee the special weapons and operations division of the Dominion. Though Death Watch was officially branded as terrorists by Prime Minister Almec, they have returned to accomplish in the shadows what the Dominion cannot in the light. The Death Watch initiative was founded by that very same former Prime Minister, meant to complete the operations that he couldn't officially sanction, with then Commando Kalan Ordo at it's head. When Ral Vizsla's regime began to move against Almec he disassociated himself with the group, and left it completely in Ordo's control.

The actions of Death Watch are officially disavowed by the Dominion government, and they do not publicly recognize the return of Death Watch. The relationship between the Dominion's Army, and Death Watch is a tense one. Those not in Death Watch are unaware of their allies' association, though when not specifically working on something for Death Watch, its agents are considered to be normal members of the Mandalorian Army & Government. The prime directive of Death Watch is to develop a way to neutralize the superweapon in possession of the Sith, as well as to develop special weapons for the Dominion - including a superweapon of their own. In addition to this, Death Watch carries out the unsavory missions or other work that is needed by the Dominion. Death Watch occasionally has to also act as a secret police force for the Dominion, weeding out those unloyal to the Dominion and it's destiny from within their ranks. Those working for Death Watch hold a variety of different professions, including spies, slicers, assassins, and scientists, as well as general soldiers.
