"Mmm, they're all the same to me."

~Brooke turned her back as Thair moved towards her; drifting into the empty expanse of garage behind her. What was he playing at? She had only let him get close the first time because she wanted something from him. Now? No; Brooke was far too proud and stubborn to let someone in. Though there was something about Thair - why was he being so persistent? What reason did he have to pursue her, to even talk to her? In her experience, other beings looked out for themselves without exception. She saw it in her dealings with customers, in scuffles with Jedi and dark ones alike, in casual conversations in Cantinas. So what did Thair want?~

~Brooke could tell he wanted to say something more. What was it? Curiosity was, perhaps, Brooke's singular weakness. In the slight silence following his last statement, she had drifted across the garage leaving a good six feet or so inbetween them. She turned to the side now, not fully facing Thair, but not turning her back either, and rose an eyebrow.~

"Questions? What else were you going to say?"

Thair kept his smile, though it would clearly appear forced. He hadn't thought the question through enough to consider posing it to brooke. There was not even a logical reason for him to pursue an explored agenda. "Well," he started again with a step towards the woman's sideways, "if you experience a sudden good luck streak just keep an open mind to some of what I'd said. Now..."

Thair turned away from her and began walking to what he presumed was the exit. "Dinner?" he asked nonchalantly, switching the topics.

~Brooke laughed. Not a mean laugh; it was just funny, really. Thair asking her to dinner? Anyone asking her to dinner? The fact that he apparently found her attractive wasn't something new; it had happened before. But usually Brooke's demeanor sent guys running for the hills. She wasn't the easiest to get along with. Dinner. His offer was almost...cute.~

"Oh that's adorable. Asking me to dinner. Do you really think I'm the kind of person who dates? I'm a lone wolf."
