Desilijic Palace - Tatooine​

One of many former Monasteries of the defunct B’omarr Order that dot the remote world of Tatooine, the Desilijic Palace had been one of the primary residences, and the seat of the Hutt clan after which it is named, for centuries. Located several hundred kilometers northwest of Mos Espa, the Desilijic Palace had been a staple of the landscape, and a common destination for the system's undesirables for generations.

Description

A large rotunda, capped off by a titanium-reinforced roof is the main and most noticeable feature of the palace. Whilst the palace itself is surrounded by a thick stone wall, the rotunda itself can be accessed through a huge durasteel door, the front gate. Once inside, a dank corrdiro leads to what was once known as the ‘Prayer Chamber’, which is now the main lobby of the palace. Playing host to a band stage and a circular bar in the center of the room, it is common to find a wide range of scumbags drinking, eating and making merry here.

The room is supported by floor to ceiling struts around the perimeter, with a walkway across the top of the room beneath the roof, allowing a commanding overwatch of the palace surrounds and its grounds - ideal for repelling unwanted guests. This concourse, beneath the rotunda's roof, has numerous weapons lockers, enabling palace guests and guards to defend the area in case of an unwanted Tusken attack, for example.

In the upper sections of the rotunda several smaller rooms can be found, most used for the everyday administration and maintenance of the palace itself. Chambers for the growth of Hutt-friendly food, the storage of tools and more can be found up here, alongside a selection of moisture converters to supply the palace with much needed water.

Located next to the main rotunda, a large tower can be seen, which is topped by a communications dome equipped with long-distance intergalactic trancevers, connecting the remote palace to the HoloNet and underworld communication channels. Immediately north of the tower can be found a squat rotunda which functions as a power generator. Above ground, the rotunda merely holds solar power generators, whilst below ground a sprawling power facility would be found.

Located beneath the Palace, carved into the stone upon which the structure has been built, can be found the motorpool, holding skiffs, yachts and more. A large durasteel door opens to the wider Tatooine desert, allowing the Hutts egress. Protected by a squat guard tower, the only tower in the palace affixed with weapons, namely two blaster cannons, the motorpool is the Desilijics main exit point from the Palace. In the many underground tunnels and caves carved in at this level, the Hutts have stored anything from secure locked treasure vaults, to synthetic spice facilities.

The Throne Room & Residences

Located in the subterranean levels of the palace, in what used to be one of the B’omarr Orders prayer rooms, the Throne room is accessed by a sweeping ramp from the lounge area. A large rectangular room, spotted with private alcoves, the room can host bands, audiences and petitioners to the Hutt family. Whilst one large throne dominates the room, things can be reconfigured to fit more members of the family.

At the center of the room, as was customary for the Hutts, a grille could be seen, through which petitioners who angered the Hutts would be dropped, and therein fed to whatever creature was housed below.

Behind the main throne, a private elevator to the Desilijics personal rooms was found. Consisting of a suite of rooms, the Hutts' bedroom, trophy room, private feast chamber and office, as well as a private audience room. Additional private rooms for Hutt clan members could be found on this level, to varying degrees of size and excess. Below the throne room was a collection of caves, which served as the clan hold of the Gamorrean Guards which served the Desilijic Clan.

Intent

To add some background to the home of the Desilijic Family, and to serve as a hub for roleplay with the characters undertaking criiiiiiiiiiiime for the Hutts. And, because this seems to be how it worked in canon with Hutt cribs, the public areas (throne room and bar) can be used by anyone.
