SUMMARY

Unlike most occupied worlds in the galaxy, Deucalia was a rogue planet.

Due to having long drifted from its original system and sector, Deucalia is currently located within the Void Sea and is part of the binary Jordineydir system.

SUMMARY

Deucalia is a larger planet, largely frozen, having only risen in temperature due to the solar radiation emitted from Strymauga.

During the initial recolonization of Deucalia five centuries ago, the planet's ecosystem had undergone a restoration effort, with the Deucalians immigrating from Hoth, Urdur, Helska and other worlds importing many of the animals they had domesticated.

SUMMARY
A twice-abandoned planet, Deucalia had been briefly re-inhabited towards the end of the Great Galactic War. For some two centuries, the planet had undergone a restoration, with life being restocked upon it, new settlements established and the central government of the Deucalians relocating to it, taking advantage of its rich resources and cultural significance.

In the aftermath of the 300-year-long Deucalian Civil War, the Deucalian-Mandalorian War, the exodus of many Deucalian Clans to live in the Sith Empire and the breakdown of trade via Saldoem's Path, Deucalia ultimately became abandoned once more. Over the generations, Deucalian civilization dispersed, with the last major bastion of Deucalian society residing on Ando Prime.

SUMMARY
Deucalia had always been a place of cultural significance to the Deucalian Clans. The harshness of life on the planet shaped the Deucalian people into a confederation of tribal chiefdoms, with a 'rule of the strong' mentality prevailing through the various tribes.

During the 'Deucalian Age', a period of history among the Deucalians during which time they resided on their homeworld, prior to the First Exodus and the consolidation and unification of their people, Deucalian was much more temperate, and Deucalians lived on the surface. As the planet gradually broke from its orbit around its sun, Deucalia became colder and colder, and Deucalian society changed with it.

Conflicts became more common, and clans battled over resources, such as the ever-dwindling fertile territories and hunting grounds. This also brought more clans in contact with one another, which caused the merging and birth of the proto-Deucalian mythologies known commonly among their people today. Massive slabs of stone still litter the surface of Deucalia, with runic etchings retelling the tales of the Andar, the powerful spirit beings that live within the undying realm of Eilíftríkis.

This change also made Deucalian settlements over massive frozen bodies of water more common, which led to a massive increase in attacks from Deucalian dragons, who would wipe out entire clans in some of the worst incidents. Conversely, Deucalian reverence and fear of Deucalian dragons saw its greatest increase during this period of Deucalia's history, with statues made in the forms of Jörðineyðir, the World-Eater, and Ánlögun, the Formless One.

After Deucalia's first abandonment, due to the planet becoming too inhospitible for life, the planet became a frozen husk, with all sapient life on it perishing. Over the many thousands of years since, Deucalia had drifted into the Void Sea, and became entangled in the gravitation pull of a binary system, one with a massive o-type main sequence star, and a very large stellar black hole.

Once rediscovered and settled many thousands of years later, Deucalia's surface remained largely unchanged, as the new cities created were done underground. Five settlements had become the site of the new sprawling supercities; New Kaltisborg being the first, followed by Ulfabolverk, Skjolistad, Drekarheim and Rorikshvild.

These cities become established and abandoned after two centuries, during the escalation of the Deucalian Civil War, among other successive and concurrent events. Currently, Deucalia remains in its abandoned state, with only the stocked fauna surviving and populating the planet.

SUMMARY
Akin to most Deucalian worlds, Deucalia itself was anachronistic; an anomalous, and even incongruous, amalgamation of modern technology and antiquated aesthetics. Because of the Deucalian preference for the merit of seiglu, which effectively meant 'strength through endurance', many Deucalians preferred living with minimal technological assistance, and instead preferred living close to base conditions.

The general aversion to technology was that it was believed that heavy use of technology created an over-reliance upon it, which in turn created a dependency and weakness without it. In extreme cases, some Deucalian settlements could even be found shunning most forms of technology as a whole, although such practices have since disappeared following the Hothian Exodus.

However, this was not to say that the Deucalians were technologically inept. Indeed, when it came to military matters, Deucalians embraced technology, and once even possessed marauding fleets to conduct widespread raids in the galactic frontier and the Outer Rim. This clash could also be seen in Deucalian cities; although the original Deucalian settlements on Deucalia no longer existed, the cities on Hoth were designed in their likeness, which were likewise minimalist.

By contrast, Deucalians during the more recent Golithian Age appeared to embrace more aesthetically modern cities, although this was potentially also due to pragmatism and the greater hazards of life on Deucalia compared to Hoth. Although abandoned, the centuries of growth and prosperity left Deucalia with several large subterranean cities, deep beneath the planet's surface.

SUMMARY
It is unknown precisely when the first Human inhabitants arrived on Deucalia, but contrary to what many in the galaxy might have believed, Deucalia was originally a temperate arboreal world, with many prosperous tribes, who were in turn made up of many clans across the planet. While lush and green, Deucalia also retained a vicious category of fauna, both predators and prey species alike. The surface of the planet had once been covered in massive cities, high towers and great factories.

The changes to Deucalia were slow, being marked with crop failures, increasing in frequency and severity with each successive generation, until eventually famines became widespread, and wars for resources became commonplace; first, between rival tribes, then between clans within tribes, until finally the tribes collapsed and clans began seeing all that were not their own as enemies.

Days grew longer yet darker, nights grew blacker and bleaker, winters became horrors as many starved. Great beasts were hunted to extinction, but the meat from their bodies and the furs from their hides did not stutter the slow creep of the planet towards its doom. Eventually, towards the end of what is called the Deucalian Age, a single warrior named Freya Baldr became renowned as the leader who united the sundered clans and led them in efforts to reestablish their fleets in order to escape the planet, a journey that would ultimately lead the Deucalians to settle Hoth for thousand of years.

Eventually, Deucalia drifted out of its star system entirely, becoming a frigid husk of a planet. Over the thousands of years, the rogue world eventually drifted into a supervoid known as the Void Sea, becoming entangled in the gravitational grasp of a binary system. This system, later called the Jordineydir System, was unique in its form, with one of its stars being a blue giant, while the other was a collapsed black hole. Both celestial bodies were called Strymauga, which meant the 'Storm's Eye'-in Basic, a reference to the great darkness that remained in the absence of the lost eye of Jordineydir the World-Eater.

Instead of being consumed by it, Deucalia was preserved; the black hole in the system had an incredibly high rate of rotation, the sheer speed of which created a single maintainable orbit an adequate distance from its event horizon which was remarkably stable. Coupled with the remnant radiation from the massive star, (which was being very slowly consumed), Deucalia had warmed to the point that it could again support life, albeit still as a definitively arctic world.

By the time that Deucalia had first been rediscovered, conditions on the planet were ideal enough for recolonization. While difficult in the early years, Deucalia had been resettled and restocked with life, flora and fauna alike, over the course of three-hundred years. However, due to the fallout of political tensions regarding the succession of the Deucalian people, civil war raged across Deucalia and spread outward. Eventually, with the people divided and at war, Deucalia became fully abandoned, with the information regarding Saldoem's Path, the hyperspace route into the Void Sea that led one to the planet, lost to the remnant Deucalians of Ando Prime.

In the present, Deucalia would be home to a handful of clans, with scattered villages and tribes.

An updated revamp of the planet Deucalia. Felt it was warranted since the original write up reflected Deucalia before it drifted away, and this current one represents Deucalia in its current state.
