The Matukai were a sect focused on the use of unarmed combat in a Galaxy filled with Blasters and Lightsabers. Most followed the ways of the Light or the Neutral and some though fewer played with the Dark Side. The Devil Trigger is a Matukai Gauntlet of one such person, who did not just fall into the Dark Side, but completely imbedded their mind, body and soul into the Darkness. Their physical and mental corruption pouring out into the weapons they wielded, creating the Devil Trigger.


History

The history of the Devil Trigger lasts over a thousand years, back before the fall of the Drast Empire, when the Dark Side of The Force ruled over the Galaxy. Hundreds of Sith Lord's rose and fell during these years some having little to no impact on the galaxy, others leaving marks still visible to this day. Darth Nero, sat somewhere in the middle, his effect on the Galaxy did not last long, but aspects of his time in the mortal plane still exist into the Force Eternal Era.

Darth Nero was known to use his body and physical attributes to best his enemies in combat forgoing the use of a Lightsaber in combat. A proficient user of Matukai combat abilities from before he rose in the ranks of the Sith Empire, the Sith Lord combined his knowledge and control over the Dark Side as well as the affluent amount of Sith Alchemy and Sorcery present at the time to alter the properties of the Matukai Gauntlets he had from his teenage years into the Devil Trigger.

After the death of Darth Nero, his Gauntlets passed onto the Sith Lord who slayed him, a wielder of the Blade they became more ornamental on the Sith. Over time the Devil Trigger passed from Sith to Sith, until finally falling out of the hands of the Dark Side and into that of the average mortal.

The imbedded power and evil nature of the Gauntlets would always attract the worst of the Galaxy towards them, both with and without the power of The Force. However its power meant that most did not have the Devil Trigger in their possession long before death or theft took it from the grasp. Like many forgotten artefacts of the Drast Era the Devil Trigger has been lost to the Outer Rim. Perhaps with the rise of the New Sith Empire, someone will find the Gauntlets and dare to Pull The Devil Trigger


ABILITIES

Like the original Matuki Gauntlets, these are slightly resistant to Lightsaber attacks, giving the wielder protection during close combat with a Lightsaber Wielder. However the drawback to this resistance is that the wearer is unable to effectively wield a weapon as well as activate the Gauntlets.

The alterations Darth Nero and his Alchemists and Sorcerers made allow one to store a portion of the Dark Side energy into the gauntlet prior to combat, allowing them to use a single Force Attack without having to channel the Cosmic Energy whilst defending themselves.


Intent

To create a new Sith Artefact dedicated to those who wish to use unarmed combat.
