Rafe was sitting in the cockpit of a well kitted out VCX-820 escort freighter, a guest, while he maintained himself comfortably in an unused gunners seat, he held a death stick in his left claw that he occasionally pulled drags off. His gracious host @Mae Tecono was hard at work, piloting the ship, and keeping the scanners up, they were floating between Kashyyyk and Onderon, their target.. a healthy Blackwell Munitions shipment. Sure the loot would be nice, and the payment afterwards even better, but Rafe was here for something else, and was hoping he'd find it...

Rafe watched the girl in action, she wasn't all that much younger than he was, but standing toe to tip Rafe towered over her ar almost three times her height, and probably some four or five times her weight. Even so, Rafe knew some of the deadliest bombs came in the smallest of containers.. time would tell, Rafe wanted to see what she could do, she had called herself a pirate, and her ship dam sure backed that up, but Rafe needed to know She could back that up as well.. at the moment it would be for both their sakes..

Rafe was fully armed, but even without his weapons, Rafe could never truly be considered disarmed.. his clawed hand pulled the death stick to his mouth again as he took a long drag off of it, exhaling a moment later.

You prepped to handle the resistance that Blackwell's munitions so commonly offers? Rafe inquired, breaking the silence, and earning the attention of the diligently working Aqualish that made up her crew, Rafe thought it was odd to see such a concentration of a single species working on one ship under a captain who did not share the same. But then again, maybe Rafe's crew was odd, he had a crew of six, including himself, that not only didn't share the same species but were also exclusively non-human. Perhaps he was the odd one..

Rafe didn't wait for her answer before taking another drag off his death stick. If their target ship, a AMS-8500 light freighter, was on schedule then they still had some ten minutes or so before it would be at these coordinates, which was more than enough time to give this girl a final chance at going back, once they fired on the ship it was over.. and she'd be committed.

As Mae continued to do her basic piloting and hyperspace calculations, she glanced over at the monitors to her right. One held the make-up of the AMS-8500 light freighter on its screen while the other held the typical haul of a Blackwell Munitions shipment.

She scanned over the first screen looking for the armament.

  • 2x fixed medium laser cannon, optional.
  • 1x dual medium laser turret, dorsal mount, optional.
Then she looked over at the other screen with the possible contents of the cargo.

Her eyes fixated on the armament before she opened interior shipboard communications "Taz, looks like our targets main threat is directly in front of it. If it is our primary target, expect flight pattern Delta, like we talked about."

Taz, Mae's first officer was her best gunner. She has a specific type of flying style in combat that she breaks down into 5 basic pre-determined maneuvers, labeled Alpha through Echo. She taught these to both Taz and Rork but skipped the training with Mog who still is trying to figure out what a maneuver is.

Along with the five main maneuvers, Mae has 8 pre-programmed maneuver adjustments into her flight controls and 6 shield adjustments also pre-programed. This way instead of wasting time fidgeting with different areas of her cockpit, in the heat of battle, shields can be adjusted to double front or back in a flick of her finger. Mae has control of both the concussion missile and Ion tipped warhead launcher from her controls as well as both quad-medium laser arrays (In forward locked position only).

Where Rafe is sitting, he has control of both
quad-medium laser arrays (In all workable positions). Taz will man the Port laser cannons, Mog the starboard and Rork the aft.

Mae contemplated explaining her maneuvers to Rafe but thought he looks like the type to catch on pretty quick during a fight.

As all of this was going on in her mind and she was running a million situations out, Rafe spoke out of the silence at her. "You prepped to handle the resistance that Blackwell's munitions so commonly offers?" he asked.

"You have no idea." She replied with a small smirk across her pointy jaw.

The interruption by the big beastly man allowed her brain a break and she gave him a look over with side glances. He was truly a beautiful sight to the small girl. She had no other word at that moment to describe him. She loved the galaxy that she lived in. There were so many unique and different cultures and races out there, and this was the first time in her life she laid her eyes on one of his species. She had seen beast like humanoids before, including a Karkarodon, but they had nothing on Rafe. His fur and armor hid most of his features, but his godlike frame swag was never before seen by her young eyes. He also had a gaze, although hidden by his head piece that looked very intimidating. Goosebumps formed on skin as a chill escaped through her body. She needed to wake up from this state as he probably was annoyed by now.

Her eyes left him and his frame and returned to the second monitor. It listed the possible munitions cargo of their target. As she read it over, she imagined the locations she would need to go to fence some of this type of cargo off for a decent profit if Rafe had not already thought that far out.

She began to then wonder if the freighter would have any kind of escort. Probably not this close to the interior she thought before dismissing the idea.

She then looked back over at Rafe, "So tell me why you wanted to use my rig and crew over yours again?" She asked with another sly smirk on her lips.

Rafe was pleased enough with her answer, she was correct after all, he did have no idea what she was capable of, he'd only just met her not terribly long before, the way she spoke indicating a fire burning within to prove herself, and Rafe planned to let her do just that.

Even as she spoke she maintained a constant dedication to her craft, Rafe had to admit even he allowed some of the more menial tasks be handled by his crew, but she was hard at work ensuring the perfect operation of every system, all the while issuing supporting commands to her crew, pre-planning and even pre-pre-planning, if that's a thing..

She'd planned so far ahead as to have flight patterns, and based on what she'd said to her gunner, she likely had a lot of them.. Rafe's job was simply to wait, but as they spoke it seemed like this was the first true time she'd actually seen him, Rafe was used to being gawked at, and this came as nothing new, it wasn't everyday people saw someone of his size, on the same matter, it wasn't everyday that he saw someone of her size, small body, big ambitions. He just hoped her combat ability was as good as her apparent piloting ability.

Blackwell does employ some special operations personnel, but the bulk of their security forces are made up of droids, Rafe wouldn't be surprised to see a mixture of the two on board the coming freighter, this was a fairly large delivery they were intercepting afterall. Though Rafe wasn't worried about that, he'd murdered entire tribes of Tuskens before, which probably put up more of a fight than whatever these mindless robots could do.. but could she.. and her crew pull their own weight?

Rafe clicked on the console by his station, mostly to keep it from going to sleep, just to make sure it was online for when the skirmish started. Had and fast would be the game, once they're immobile the real work would start.

Except for that brief moment Rafe had continued to watch the girl work, she only had two arms, but they were hard at work, almost giving her the appearance of a cook Droid.

She was right to ask, Rafe's ship could hold considerably more cargo, and had a decent armament, his ship and her ship were also fairly in line for speed, and defenses as well. But, Rafe was more interested in her total ability, she claimed to be a pirate captain, and Rafe wanted to see her to her full potential, Anyone can fire a blaster.. It takes a lot more to be the full package.. Rafe responded, he hadn't fully answered her question, but figured that would do for now. On top of that his ship, The Kennel, was only a short distance away, and once @Mae Tecono immobilized the incoming freighter and they boarded Rafe would have his crew jump his ship around for additional cargo unloading.

Mae had selected a jump location semi-commonly used by frieghters. She knew that with a sensitive cargo like the one our target was carrying, that there was a high probability they would jump to it instead of the more common hyperspace lanes. Only problem with the location is though it was less common, it still had mild trafic on a daily bases which meant that someone may accidently jump into their party in progress.

Mae had already added that chance into her thoughts on location to pull this off and knew it was the best place dispite that.

She also had an ace in the whole in which Rafe was not aware. She had her old friend Mads, only a system away on standby in case of the need for backup.

Mae pushed the schematics of the target freighter from her side monitor to the main monitor between her and Rafe. " These are the 3 points of emphasis, shields, engines, and communications. I dont need you to get too trigger happy and destroy the prize before we bleed her dry." She highlighted the 3 spots on the monitor as she spoke. "These droid operated freighters also have a self destruct programmed into the hull of the ship in case of the cockpit being destroyed so keep your fire away from here" she highlighted the cockpit "and here" she highlighted a power node almost exactly between the cockpit and the shield distributors "as this will most likely set off the self destruct charges".

She did not want to overwhelm him with details but also did not want to destroy their prize before getting paid. She did not relay this information to the crew as the light lasers that they were operating were not powerful enough to penetrate the armor in those key components.

She again glanced over at Rafe and laughed to herself. She had to have Rork install a custom chair for their guest as he would have to hunch over if he were sitting in the normal one. The custom one was closer to the floor but reared back to allow his legs room comfortably.

She was again snapped back to reality as a warning light on her hub indicated their targey was about to arrive.

"Prepare yourself, as the fun is about to start." She told him.

Rafe would never notice the chair he sat in, on his ship his chair was something he'd had done so long ago he'd forgotten that normal chairs were manufactured to accommodate beings of the two meters or less height and weight. To him, this was simply a normal chair.

Rafe listened as she explained the incoming ship, it was refreshing to know she was this meticulous, and took her jobs very seriously. A character aspect he could appriciate. He would need use of that skill set on later jobs as well. He paid close attention as she spoke, trying to convey with his body language that her homework was well appriciated. We got this.. Rafe added.

Once we've taken control of the ship I will radio my crew and they will dock as well, I'm hopeful our quarry will hold much more than your ship can hold alone.. Rafe offered, he had planned to just notify her when it was happening, but as she had planned out nearly every detail, Rafe decided it would be more proper for him to inform her now. His crew was capable, but they were not warriors meant for melee, they were more suited for ship to ship combat.

Rafe saw the red flashing of the warning light as well and snapped over to his station, brining the quad-medium laser arrays to bear, Ready when you are.. Rafe said, he was on her ship, she'd let her make the commands.

Mae flipped the ship back a half kilometer behind a small drifting asteroid. She did not want be sitting in the open when their target flew by. That be too obvious. Now, as soon as their target flew by, she would strike hard and fast.

Hitting the accelerator while also making shields double front, she, and the Wolf, were on top of them in a flash.

She got a quick lock on her approach letting one ion tipped warhead loose. She was aiming for the engines. Missed but did make contact with a sub-engine system or power relay as the engines shut down.

She quickly glanced at her companion "get on her, we need her shields down as quickly as possible."

As they flew over the ship, she rolled the tip down rolling circles around their target. As they did, she activated double shields to the side facing the target.

The Targets medium laser cannon had come online and were making contact with the Wolf on many shots.

Rafe was zoned in, both of the quad medium laser arrays staying locked on their targets as best as, or anyone, could keep them. He kept his fire trained smashing into the shields until they popped, once the shield was out of the way his fire remained constant, smashing the dorsal mounted dual medium laser turret off of their target ship after just a handful of additional shots. Their only remaining armaments were fixed forward, giving Rafe the perfect opportunity to lay into the ship's engines, though it seemed the rest of the crew was already hard at work at that..

Zero G combat was rarely a long affair, @Mae Tecono's ship heavily out powered their target, obviously an advantage they had planned on. As she controlled the ship, the engines were out of sight for a brief moment, and Rafe capitalized on the opportunity, the medium laser arrays blasting away, smashing one of the fixed lasers on the front of the ship apart from its body.

The ship was almost neutered, when the bright light of the thrusters gave out Rafe knew it was time, he jumped from his seat, one quick slap check to ensure his weapons were where he needed them. It was time for the fun part of today's operation. Rafe would wait in the cockpit for @Mae Tecono she was granted the lead for this job, and Rafe wouldn't take that from her.

Mae quickly moved the "Wolf" into position above the disabled ship she set her down on top and latched on with their boarding cup links. "Mog, get her open" She ordered over the radio before getting up and leading Rafe to the central cargo hold. When she had arrived, Mog was already quickly cutting through the hull of their prey. Above him, his brother Tork was lowering the Droideka from its position above the boarding tube. This Droideka was an old Mk II used long ago, brought back to life. Mae could never get its movement and rolling controls to work properly so it acted like a stationary breach weapon with very little movement. It could, in fact, only move by walking which with its short legs was a very slow process. The key to its use, especially on this mission with an enemy crew of mostly droids, were its ion cannons and shield generator. Making the Droideka the perfect weapon for breaching.

Once Mog had finished cutting and the metal between the two ships dropped into the interior of the other ship, Tork released the Droideka. It fell through the hole and landed with a thud before quickly deploying with its shield up. It began a slow turn with its tiny legs and opened fire with its ion cannons on all droid targets it found and easily absorbed all incoming fire. Mae liked this because now, not only were they going to get the cargo but now she was going to get her hands on some more undamaged droids. She looked back at Rafe. "I know you don't care for droids, and I don't blame you, but the more you don't rip to shreds, the less of a cut you have to give me when the job is over" She said with a slight smile on her lips. She could tell, even with his helmet on, that he did not like the request.

After the Droideka had cleared the breach point, Taz attached his tether and repelled down into the enemy ship, quickly followed by Mae and Rafe, and lastly by Mog. Tork returned to the cockpit to monitor communications and watch for any more approaching ships.

Rafe watched in awe as the some one-hundred and fifty year old droideka came into view, it was an antique, and overall appeared in relatively good condition. Rafe did not like droids much, and armed ones even less, but as @Mae Tecono explained he understood they were her passion, this was just before she offered to change the arrangement mid operation, normally this sort of event was frowned upon, but common among people of their profession.. her terms were more than agreeable.

Rafe smiled.. if you could call it a smile, may have seemed more like a snarl, if he didn't have his helmet on it would likely have been an odd sight, Acceptable.. He said, though now Rafe was faced with a new problem, one he hadn't accounted for.. his only weapons were designed specifically to kill... and destroy.. he had no droid saving weapons.. Rafe took out his Peacemaker and for the second time since owning it all these years, switched it to stun.. the act was somewhat comical, the switch hadn't been used much and stuck for a second requiring extra effort. Finally with a loud click it moved, it would be worth it ultimately, whatever she wanted the droids for.

Rafe grabbed onto the tether and slid down into the hold of their quarry, Peacemaker in hand, the droideka was hard at work, lighting the place up with ion bolts flying here and there, Rafe groaned as he took the scene in, there had to be some three dozen BAS-55 Series Droids this was way too much security for just the cargo hold on just a routine shipment..

He started working before touching down, stun bolts flying from the business end of his heavy blaster pistol, he'd struck two before hitting the floor, and firing off another volley of four shots, shutting down one more.

Rafe would need restraint.. and that would make this skirmish longer...

Mae slid down into the hold and immediately rolled over to the side for cover. A moment later she peaked out the side and lit up two more droids before returning to cover. She made another roll behind the droideka and used its shields for cover as she looked at the siuation. She too thought there was too much droid security for the small amount of munitions said to be in this shipment.

With nearly 2 dozen droids disabled, this was plenty if not too many droids for her to handle and she signaled to Rafe from across the room to go free fire and destroying the rest was fine. She too thought trying to disable the rest would be too time consuming and based on the welcoming commity, there may be more surprises that stun and ion cannons were not best used for.

She signaled for Gorg and Taz to go to the rear and secure the engines and main cargo hold while Rafe and herself, cleared the rest of the forward ship. Mae looked to Rafe to take point and she would follow his lead from here.

In the midst of the chaos by an overstocked security force @Mae Tecono had signaled something to Rafe, he wasn't sure exactly what she had meant to say, but got the gist, and immediately switched his Peacemaker back to its rightful position, peeking over his cover to take two pot shots at a droid that was advancing on their position, Rafe wondered for a quick second if these droids were also meant to be part of the shipment and Blackwell just had them active for the transport just in case someone like Rafe and Mae happened to come along?

Nonetheless Rafe sprung to action, launching himself over the crates and landing hard on an additional droid, his free claw digging into the unit and pulling its head, or whatever you called it on a Droid, free from the rest of its body, and hurrling it towards the hands of another, knocking the blaster out of its hands, or whatever.. Rafe landed two more bolts in the neck like parts of two more droids while charging the disarmed one and bull rushing it into the wall smashing it's torso in and placing the barrel of his peacemaker under its chin before pulling the trigger.

It had gotten messy, and @Mae Tecono's Droideka had definitely done the heavy lifting, but they finally secured the cargo hold with all enemy droids disabled, or torn apart beyond function. Rafe let out a stressful sigh as he stacked up on the heavy metal door that led further into the ship, he assumed they'd send the droideka first, but since it belonged to @Mae Tecono she had she say in that.

Mae was amazed at Rafe's swift and powerful lunge. He made quick work of the remaining droids in just a matter of seconds. As Rafe looked to be resting or maybe pressing on the door to the next room, Mae commanded the Droideka to lower its shields to conserve energy and to lead us into the next compartment. She sighed in frustration as the droid slowly made its way over to the door. "I really need to put some tracks on that thing", she joked to herself. As it finnally arrived at the door she ordered its shields back up and signaled for Rafe to open the door.

As her crew had returned from clearing the engine room, she had them begin to tranfer the droids and cargo to her ship. She kept them on standby in case Rafe and her needed further assistance with the remaining crew. They nodded as they kept their blasters over their shoulders. She heard Taz grumble something but disregarded it as he was probably a little frustrated. He would normally be in Rafe's position, not carrying cargo.

As Rafe opened the door, the droideka went to work again blasting the next room full of ion shots and absorbing return blaster fire with its shields. Mae positioned herself on the opposite side of the door framevas Rafe and slowly peaked into the room.

Rafe was more than happy to let the robot do the work, maybe Mae was on to something with these droids.. after he kicked the door open the droideka pressed forward, shields up and blasters blasting. Rafe and Mae were just standing at the door while it lit up the room inside, Rafe could hear the other droids falling to the metal floor below them, once there was enough room Rafe entered behind the droideka, discovering the hall that led to both engineering and the cockpit in opposite directions. You take the Droid and head for the cockpit, I'll clear engineering, if anyone's there, and meet you up there..

Rafe didn't wait, the hall had been cleared, but they needed full control of the ship, and fast, they'd already spent at least twice as long in the cargo hold than Rafe would have liked, especially with someone in the cockpit who could be hailing for help.

Rafe bolted down the hall toward engineering, at some ten and a half feet tall his stride was massive, and he covered the ground quickly, approaching the door just a few moments after leaving Mae, it was likely there'd be more resistance in the cockpit, so the Droid made sense, but Rafe still wanted to make quick work down here to back her up up there just in case.

Kicking the door open Rafe fired three bolts at a Droid, only after lighting it up realizing it was just a maintenance Droid, the room was empty, minimum staffing Rafe supposed before he went to work, it would take a handful of seconds before he found the kill switch, but he was able to disable power to the distress beacon from down here and shut off all main systems to the cockpit except life support.

Rafe figured Mae must have made it to the cockpit by now, and ran as quick as he could in that direction...

It take too long for the droid to head down the hall to the cockpit so she ordered it back to the main cargo hold and to be taken back to her ship. She proceeded to the cockpit on her own. She could not move the distance in two steps like Rafe so she had to move from side of the corridor to the other behind what cover she could manage. When she first arrived at the door, she was lucky enough that she opened the door before the power was suddenly cut to the ship. The door only opened towards the ceiling 5 feet, perfect for Mae and her size. She threw a few droid popper / Stun grenades' in and waited a moment while they went off. She immediately entered after to find the lone human crewman, the captain no doubt. She had her pistol blaster aimed at him but could not pull the trigger, she still had not lost that part of herself to take an innocent life. She instead asked him "Any last words before you meet your maker?"

"Please don't kill me!" he groveled, lowering himself to his knees as he did. "I will do anything. Please, this is just a job that I don't even want!" He continued to plea.

Mae looked at him with pity, before an idea crossed her mind. She thought he may be useful as a laborer on her ship for a bit in exchange for his life. But she waited for Rafe to arrive before making that decision or not. Rafe might even find him a loose end needing taken care of and he might be too dangerous if left alive. Who knows?

As soon as Rafe exited the engineering bay he heard the explosion of the Droid poppers, from his location he'd have no way of identifying what they were so they just sounded like explosives to him, this made Rafe bolt through the halls on double time, approaching the half opened door and using both Claws and the full strength of his body to force it upward, the mechanical whirring of the gears being forced to bring the door up was audible.

Rafe let out a relieved sigh, though breathing slightly heavy from the exertion, at the sight he revealed inside the cockpit, only two beings remained, and one of them was @Mae Tecono, a welcome sight. Rafe wouldn't have heard their conversation, but still wondered what had transpired to prevent Mae from just executing the man.

Rafe closed his grip around his peacemaker as he spoke to Mae, Kill him.. Rafe said, this wasn't just a sadistic order, though Rafe loved the thrill of bloodletting what was transpiring was much more important than that. This man was the only organic presence on the ship, other than the boarding party, sure Rafe had seen her and her droid shoot up some other droids, but it's easy to smash up toys.. objects of little sentient value. No, what Rafe wanted here was to test if she could not only follow orders, and prove her loyalty, but to see if she had what it takes to go as far as is necessary.

What would happen next was pivotal, Rafe was ready to draw, not that Mae would know that, however should she defy him and not execute the man, Rafe would, then they'd need to have a long tall about what the future would hold, or more accurately, would not hold..

Mae had to think quickly, as she was about to spare this mans life. She really did not want to do it but she knew every second she hesitated, Rafe would judge her. Her blaster down at her side. She thought to look away and just do it, but that would be a bit of a cowardice act.

Mae then raised her eyes from away to look directly at the man in front of her, raised her side arm, and quickly removed his head with a bolt from the blasters barrel. She was afraid after she had killed the man, an afraid that she did not shake or move with, but felt inside. It was a feeling not of guilt but question of her own insanity, because, when she killed him, she did not regret it and actually enjoyed it. She did not want it to show to Rafe that she enjoyed it so she did not show it to him, in her facial expression. She quickly lowered her blaster back into its harness on her hip and left Rafe in the cockpit as if it were just another day in the life of a pirate. As she walked away down the hall, she was proud of herself. Again not proud of killing the unarmed man but proud that she could, without hesitation or remorse. An evil smile crept across her face.

She paused in the corridor, and turned, waiting for her companion to join her before they talked about their next step.

Good.. Rafe thought, at the very least she could follow orders. So far she had not let him down, though Rafe still had a slight wonder as to why that man was still alive when Rafe walked into the cockpit. Rafe followed Mae out and made his way back to the cargo hold, he had already alerted his crew, and they would be popping in shortly to help with the unload.

Mae's ship would only comfortably hold up to about one ton of this cargo, and Rafe's ship could only handle about another thirty, together they'd still be leaving over fifty tons of the Blackwell Munitions shipment.. We're going to have to cherry pick what we're pulling out of here, there's more cargo than we can carry.. Rafe said, he should have had his crew bring his other ship..

Shortly after they got to the hold The Kennel would arrive and the docking tube was hooked to their now dead in the water target. Highest value loot first, let's get this moved quick, who knows who they may have contacted.. Rafe called to his crew and Mae's, usually Rafe left this bit to the crew, but time was pressing, and they needed to get a move on, so Rafe hoisted a full crate and walked it into his ship, all the others would at best need to two man the crates, but Rafe's advantageous size allowed him to work alone.

When Rafe came back he looked to Mae, and pointed at a full crate, as if comically indicating he wanted her to carry it by herself. He even sported a smirk.

As Rafe pointed to the crate and then looked at her, she got a little amusement out of it too but went over to try to lift it on her own anyway. with all her might, she lifted the one side, 2 inches off the ground and then let it slam back down. She looked over at Rafe and said "Okay, now that that crate is where it needs to go, what's next?"

Mae laughed as maybe it was time to reveal her ace in the whole now that she feels that he has gained a little of her trust. "Rafe, I too had a ship on standby that should have plenty of cargo space for the remainder of the loot." She told him. Maddie Dawnstar and the Trinity Pirates Wayfarer was sitting just a short jump away. She did not wait for his answer and radioed for Rork to contact her.

Soon, the Wayfarer also jumped into the system and made connection to the other 3 ships where it could. Her crew quickly assisted the looting efforts.

When Mads first got the call to assist her old friend in a heist, she was glad to help. She could not believe that Mae out of anyone she knew in this circle would ever request help. It has been far too long since she had seen her, that she thought that she had moved on to bigger and better things or had gotten out of this line of work like Mads has been considering. Not only did Mae ask for help on this job but also offered Mads a position that would allow her to step back from the life of pirating. Mae had offered her the job of managing the operations and trade at the Trinity Station. Mads could finally be able to sit back and do her thing from somewhere besides the cockpit. She cleared all of that from her mind as she received the radio signal from Rork, a crew member of Mae's.

As her barrowed Wayfarer approached the other ships, Mads could not help comparing the rig she was piloting to a piece of scrap junk floating in space. It was a good ship but its maneuverability was garbage. Once the ship had made a safe and secure docking with the others, she made her way down to the storage section to assist everyone with loading the cargo.

She suggested to Mae that they both take one end of a container while another crewman took the other. As a pair, they were not completely useless.

From here on out, she and her crew accepted the orders of Rafe and Mae.

Ah the double cross.. Rafe couldn't say he didn't at least half expect it... maybe.. her demeanor didn't change, and he didn't get the same feeling one gets when they find out they're being double crossed.. just what the fhtagn was going on here..

Rafe's comm lit up, with Egret, his Shashay Astrogator warning of an incoming ship, Rafe responded by telling her to let it through but keep on the ready. She knew that meant as soon as he gave the word to shoot it down. As the next few minutes passed, Rafe was still a little cautious, this was the most drawn out, and slow backstabbing he'd ever received.. just that made him wonder if Mae was in fact telling the truth, afterall he had his ship on standby.. why wouldn't she have one.. it was definitely a good thing that Mae had independent contacts, since those in this line of work who didn't fly a banner were usually more hungry for work, even still this situtation was... unorthodox.

Finally the newcomer docked and boarded the ship, another human woman, this one only slightly taller than Mae, she was poorly armored, but well armed, and came with a crew of her own that were all ready to help.. convenient.. Rafe thought.

Rafe made sure his ship was loaded first, letting Netvor, his Shistavanen gunner and co-pilot know to keep an eye on the humans. If anything popped off he'd need the extra firepower.

It would take quite some time, but with Rafe and Mae's ships fully loaded, and the rest on @Maddie Dawnstar's ship Rafe was ready to jump. He had a fence in line for every kilo of loot they could pull, and it seemed they would pull it all.. a very decent haul, which would more than help him get off the ground with his nearly ready to open business..
