Disney is not happy with EA, one of the most hated companies out there, and they have every right. While I find the game fun, it could of been handled better. Disney has been acting very protective against Star Wars lately, and this should be no exception. They don't want another disaster that George Lucas caused and Star Wars to die out.

And unlike EA, Disney knows how to make money and keep people happy.

Disney, like EA, is just a soulless corporation. EA may come off the worse for this - please, please let them come off the worse for this - but Disney is only in this for the money.
We fans don't really matter unless we're paying them.

Name a few big companies that are NOT only in it for money.

They are worse, because like I said, Disney knows what people want, and what they like, which they know makes them money.

Both are greedy, but one is smarter about it while the other is truly clueless and careless.

Truly a horrifying revelation.
Up until recently I was unaware that companies made profits by having margins.

Not to put words in anyone's mouth but there's always an interesting undercurrent to "Disney is in this for the profit" in that it semi-suggests George Lucas, the greatest movie merchandiser of all time, was running a charitable operation prior to 2012.

...touche.

My point was really that Disney would probably do the same thing in a heartbeat, if they thought there wouldn't be backlash. And mark my words, they'll try something like it eventually.

As Lucas kicks back on his $2 billion and reads through the complaints about Disney, he must laugh.

Maybe with something small like phone games or something. They wouldn't do it for something that will make a huge profit. This whole thing with EA needs to be a lesson and reminder to people who want to do the same thing.

Honestly Phil, almost every game coming out now has microtransactions.

It's the way the industry is working now.

You want online servers hosted and maintained? Be prepared to fork out money beyond the point of purchase.

Or - if people done like it.

Don't buy it.

It mostly seems to be aimed at Multiplayer games, rather it's PVP like Battlefront II or PVE like Andromeda...

Too bad they and others can't be like Overwatch, where you only get cosmetics from said microtransactions, or money to buy other crates if you get duplicates.

If I might be completely honest, I was not too bothered by Battlefront's microtransactions and still had a lot of fun playing the game. But... it might just be me being used to seeing them in games now. It just didn't feel like a "Pay to Win" type game.
