Hello and welcome. I've made this thread since I remember getting good feedback from a similar thread last timeline. Each character in star wars uses technology and so I've made this thread to help give a guideline or suggestions for new players or those unfamiliar with technology. The technology subforum can be intimidating and has tons of choice. As always I suggest that you read the tech rules and the generic tech rules if you haven't already. I still go back and reference them so don't feel like you have to memorize them on the first read through. Familiarity comes with time and sometimes rules are updated.

The title of this thread, unlike my Mandalorian thread linked above, is meant to be open ended because I will putting some suggestions for each faction or different character types. I will have an index below so that you can jump around and get right to what you're looking for specifically. These 'loadouts' are meant to be the character's day to day equipment. Anybody can go to a weapons locker and pick out a sniper rifle or rent a swoop bike but this is more of what is essential and at the core of the associated roles. For customization fee free to pick and choose. These are my opinions and I also suggest taking a look at Tech Head's Digest to see if there's anything else you want to add to your character.

Please feel free to DM me questions or concerns. Please do not reply to this thread however because I will be trying to update it from time to time. Hope some of you find this useful.

Note: some links will lead to star wars wiki since they can be considered 'generic' items and don't need a site page writeup. However that does not mean any and all things on the star wars wiki can be used on this site.

-Jedi Knight/Padawan-
Jedi are known for their humble living and so do not have as many possessions a most other beings especailly since they detach themselves from trivial and worldly possessions. The Order does not restrict individual freedom as much as it once was so there are plenty of outliers with unique tastes and it is advised that you find ways to make your character unique outside of equipment.

Armor: None - Rarely do Jedi consistently wear armor and instead opt for robes or civilian clothing
Melee: Lightsaber - Often the lightsaber of a Jedi represents the one that weilds it so decide on a unique design or maybe even dual wield.
Sidearm: DL-18 or S-40 Stun blaster
Longarm: None
Ordnance: None
Vehicle: SCS-20 Sojourn shuttle or a T-70 starfighter

-Sector Ranger-
The Sector Rangers represent law and order for the civilized parts of the galaxy. While they don't have a strict uniform they do tend to follow certain trends. While not as mystical as members of the Jedi Order many of them strive to keep the peace and use the minimal force necessary. Most Rangers have to rely on themselves or only a singular partner. What you carry with you is what you'll have when crossing paths with galaxy's worst criminals as well as just everyday citizens.

Armor: Blast vest- Common enough and easy to wear underneath most clothing.
Melee: Stun baton- Most Rangers avoid melee combat and forgo a melee weapon altogether but its better to at least have one and not need it than to need it and not have it..
Sidearm: DL-44 or Power 5 - Both are adequate all round performance with stun settings and small enough to provide easy draw when needed.
Longarm: V-4N4
Ordnance: Concussion grenade(s) - Each roughly the size and weight of a fruit, they can help take down criminals with breaching maneuvers and are safer to carry than frag grenades (especially if your in a space ship)
Vehicle: T-65pt or SS-54 - A Ranger's ship is where they spend a significant amount of time. I advise taking a look at all options but these two are different but suitable for a law enforcement agent

-Members of the Sith Order-
The Sith Order was originally the Sith Eternal, an underground cult that did not have an organized military. Many choose to adopt equipment that is associated with past organizations like the Galactic Empire or The Final Order while others might try to be more covert. There are numerous cultists that lack the affinity with the force and so make up for it with arming themselves with better tools for the job. Below are two different loadouts. One for force sensitives and those that are not.

Force Sensitive
Armor: None - It is far easier to move and blend in for a cultist when not attracting the attention of a bounty hunter
Melee: Lightsaber or Sith sword - each can be unique and intimidating but one is more concealable than the other.
Sidearm: DC-17 - overall a common weapon and used by the Galactic Republic and Galactic Empire with all around good specs that won't make you look like an obvious bad guy
Longarm: None
Ordnance: A thermal detonator or fragmentation grenade
Vehicle: TIE/RG "Tie Ranger" or a Xi class Shuttle
Extra:

Non-force sensitive
Armor: trooper armor
Melee: vibroblade
Sidearm: Blurrg 1120 - Meant to be small and concealable, this is a decent backup weapon
Longarm: E-11d or DLT-20a
Ordnance: A plasma grenade or fragmentation grenade - the former is highly illegal but maybe worth the risk
Vehicle: GAT-12 or TIE/EL
Extra:
  • R3 astromech - You only need one of these if you choose a ship that has a hyperdrive but lacks a navicomputer (see TIE Elder)
  • personav
  • comlink
