I thought people should be happy with what they get?

Difference between getting money and getting a part for a car that is in no way compatible.

Seriously, try harder.

Our pizza boys earn more than Phil's radiator delivering drivers.

Do you tip them?

Tipping, though it can individually come from a feeling of generosity, is ultimately something designed to balance out slave wages. In a country where the socio-economic and political systems aren't ****ed up, as they are in America, tipping isn't really necessary.

Unless barbers and hair stylists earn less then the minimum wage, then there is no point to tip them then either. For some reason, I was told to tip them just for their work, despite having to pay them nearly $20 for what I asked.

Five pages in under two hours discussing the finer points of tipping.

Sometimes this site baffles me.

Edit: also, I don't tip

This thread is explicitly about restaurants, where servers are paid far below minimum wage. It's exploitation, and therefore tipping is a bigger economic issue in the restaurant industry.

It's a legitimate economic issue for American employees and consumers. If you want to be baffled by something, it should be how the United States treats its workers.

Great gadzooks man what do you ask them to do, stud your hair with diamonds? My haircut costs $13 at the most, and I usually tip since my barber is both former USMC and has cut my hair for a good while.

A regular haircut where I live is also $20.

I go to a local barbershop where it's $10 for a cut. I usually tip them 5 because they're great people and know my family.

I get a number one with a low flat top. Almost 20 dollars. So I just cut my own hair from now on.

The only places I know that'd charge so much for a normal haircut would be the big national chains: Great Clips, Sports Clips, et cetera. Even then the Great Clips nearby only charges ~$15 for a normal haircuit. Guess it's just a regional thing.

Or maybe you're getting a perm.

I get a one on the sides and back, fade into a three on the top. Square the neck, no sideburns. Sometimes I skip the fade and just go high and tight. $13 tops.

Back to tipping at Restaurants, if this statement makes me a horrible person, then I can live with it just fine because I've been doing it for years.

I'm fine with the tipping methond I've been doing.

Less then Ten Dollar Bill = 2 Dollar tip
Ten Dollars or more bill = 3 Dollar tip
Twenty Dollars or more bill = 4 Dollar tip
Just do the math with this method and you'll see how much I might tip someone higher then thirty dollars or more.

I don't agree with managers forcing waiters to rely on tips just to get by, But why should I tip more then I already am? Waiters, Waitresses, Servers, whatever, are doing their job, and it does not take them any more effort to serve a meal that costs 100 dollars then it does to serve one that costs 10 dollars. I don't really consider myself a really selfish person. I give food to homeless people, I donate food around Thanksgiving and toys around Christmas to Toys for Tots, etc. I just choose who I give my money too.

Also, here is some math for you. Consider how much tips one waitress gets in one day. It's probably more then what one earns a day with minimum wage if they don't divide all the tips up.
