Onboard the Skira, Hyperspace
Minerva laid wide awake in her bunk within the cabin room. Wearing a sleeveless black shirt and matching shorts and barefoot she looked up at the dark ceiling. Her expression was outwardly but her soul was under siege by a storm of emotions. Lips curving into a pained grimace Minerva closed both eyes.

Taking a deep breath the Mandalorian then sighed. What am I even doing? The question directed at herself stung more than she thought it would. Sitting up and placing her feet on the floor she looked down at it aimlessly. The ship’s engine’s familiar humming can be heard nearby as Minerva rubbed the back of her neck with the right arm.

She had left the Skira on autopilot to get some sleep but without success. Moments later Minerva took out a holoprojector from one of her pockets. Activating it, a holographic image of herself smiling surrounded by numerous others in Mandalorian armors outside Clan Wren’s estate. Beside her on the left Armand with a large grin holding their pair of sons(without armor) in each arm while she had their daughter on her shoulders.

The children looked annoyed and bored, obviously not to be part of the picture. Upon that reminder a sad smile surfaced on the mother’s expression. Manda that was a wonderful day. My little rancors couldn’t wait for that photo session to end. Armand then took them all sliding on a nearby hill for fun.

They enjoyed that.

Unintentionally a single tear dropped from her left eyes onto the floor. Suddenly grief began to choke her. Placing the holoprojector on the bed she grasped arms together shaking violently. Biting her lips in a vain attempt to restraint to herself Minerva began to sob.

“Armand I will avenge you but I left our children back home to do so. Some mother I am.” She muttered bitterly. That decision had been cutting off an arm for her weeks ago.

“Yes they’re in good hands with your parents and the whole clan but I don’t want them to grow up without either of us. Yet what was done to you was a crime and threat to our family that couldn’t go unanswered.”

Her voice turned from sorrow to furry. Gritting her teeth Minerva finally stood up, to head for the cockpit and turn off the autopilot to fly manually. The door slid open after she pressed the button. Before exiting she turned back to the holoprojector still showcasing the family photo.

Seeing it again reaffirmed Minerva’s resolve. She will hunt down those responsible for Armand’s murder and return to Clan Wren as soon as possible. “This is the way.” The widow remarked before turning away and walking out of the cabin.
