History: After the clone wars, the defeat of the Separatists, and the rise of the Galactic Empire, droids were seen as evil and untrustworthy beings. Droids were even banned from certain locations. Generally unaccepted around the galaxy, many droids were lost forever due to dying power cells. Most droids that were kept around were usually used as tools for other species.

A group of droids banded together to create the first safe-haven, on a cliffside on Tatooine: Droid City, which some also refer to as Machine City. The city started off small and suffered from many raids by Tusken raiders. Over time, more droids arrived, and some were even created, building up their population and city. Now, in 141 ABY, the city is an economic hub due to mass non-stop production.

Description:
Droid-City is the biggest city on the planet of Tatooine. The city runs almost entirely on solar power, with most of the constructions being able to absorb solar energy. There are also many solar panels scattered around outside of the city. Every building in the city is a factory or a warehouse, there are no restaurants, hotels, apartments, houses, or anything else in the city. 24/7 every day, droids mass produce weapons, ship parts, droid parts, and other varying technology. The city has multiple landing pads, with varying freighters and a single Lucrehulk-Class LH-3210 Cargo Freighter. They ship supplies to different planets, but a lot of their shipments go directly to Coruscant. The city is protected by a variety of automated turrets, and battle droids. While the city itself is somewhat clean, the area around the city and the sky is extremely polluted due to chemical wastes. Similar to Coruscant, Droid City is being built upwards, rather than outwards. Although it is not near the size of Coruscant, Droid City only has 2 levels.

When the city was first created, they established a government system similar to the republic, but just on a local level. However, over time the droids developed AI and became connected. Each droid can someone act on its own accord, but overall they are controlled and connected to the central AI mind in the core of the city. In the core of the city, within the cliff itself, lies Ore-Z, the heart of the machines. Ore-Z is a massive super-computer AI, that takes in all the information from each droid, distributes instructions, can access the Holonet, controls the defense system, and conducts all major decisions of the city. Ore-Z is able to communicate, although not directly in front since it cannot move. It will take over a droid, one that is connected to Ore-Z already and can speak through it. Ore-Z can speak in galactic basic, Mando'a, Huttese, Twi'leki, Tusken, Sullustese, Rodese, Cheunh, and obviously Binary. Ore-Z is constantly downloading information in order to gain knowledge and is even sapient. However, Ore-Z does not understand ethics or morality. A smaller, weaker, and identical copy of Ore-Z exists on the Lucrehulk, but its primary function is to be in charge of the vessel.

There are currently around 1 billion droids living in droid cities. However, that number is dwindling due to the shift of replacing droids with just pure machines to do tasks. That way, the city can save more energy and spend less time producing its own droids. However, they do accept all incoming droids. The city is somewhat hostile to intruders, especially if they are unexpected guests. Those attempting to enter the city without official business will be warned to leave. However, they could convince Ore-Z to let them in.

As of right now, in 141 ABY, Droid City remains neutral in all Galactic Confronts, choosing to help neither side. They do this for their safety and for economic reasons. By remaining neutral, they are able to supply all factions and make a profit from all of them. They also secure their safety by not declaring themselves an enemy of another faction. As they do not have an actual army or military force, rather they just have defensive weapons.

Intent:
Just a cool idea I had to bring a level of relevancy back to droids. The city is neutral at the moment, which opens it up for the possibility of it joining aside. High potential to shift sides in faction battles, however, it will be very very very difficult to convince the droids to help. Could also lead to a future droid war; droids vs the galaxy ;0. I feel like from both the movies and the animated show, the droids are kind of just seen as a laughing stock. I know there are some scenes that really show how scary the separatist droid army was, but overall I never really felt like they were a threat. Compared to how much of a threat the Galactic Empire felt in the original trilogy.

Also since the city seems like it could have extreme relevance, I feel like if this is approved, then staff should be controlling the NPC Ore-Z. Since Ore-Z is technically able to control all of the droids, it would obviously get out of hand if he was self-dm.
