DESCRIPTION​

Droid internal blaster arms are a relatively common if mostly illicit upgrade which can be integrated into most humanoid model droids. The upgrade has the effect of giving a droid a concealed weapon, although with certain drawbacks.

The droid internal blaster arm upgrade consists of guts of a blaster pistol, wired into a secret compartment in the forearm of a droid. The basis of the upgrade can be almost any commercially available hand blaster, with range, capacity, power and other effects being directly equivalent to the weapon used. The most common blaster used has historically been the DL-18, for example, with a magazine of 100 shots and a range of 30 meters, dealing medium regular and stun damage. Small projectile pistols can also be used.

Of note, due to the nature of the upgrade, droid internal blaster arms do not have any increased ammunition capacity over the hand weapon they are based on. They also show up easily on standard weapon scans. When in use, the upgrade does not allow the droid to use the grasping appendage on the arm the weapon is built into; further, droids with weapons already integrated into their forearms or hands cannot receive this upgrade.

Droid blaster arms are typically not legal, however they have become a popular self-defense option for emancipated droids, as well as assassin models.
