DESCRIPTION​

The DT-29 heavy blaster pistol was a heavy blaster pistol that saw use during the reign of the Galactic Empire. Unlike most blasters, it had to be manually reloaded with energy packs which contained six rounds. The DT-29 was designed to excel in dealing heavy damage in exchange for low ammo and continuous reloading. Its sturdy durasteel construction was covered in a polished Dallorian alloy coating, aiding it as a heat sink to prevent high output fire from damaging it during use. The hardwood accents are solid and well-made, offering a sturdy and weighty grip for the wielder.

Originally designed as a more stylish, if less concealable option for military officers, diplomats, and other public figures, the DT-29 has stood the test of time as a functional example of high-end blaster fashion. Unlike other DT models offered from blastech, it shys away from blocky carbon-black design schemes and instead focuses on high-class materials and smooth, eye-catching angles. Easily drawn from the well made leather holster the weapon comes stock with and with an adjustable trigger pull, it was relatively easy to use and maintain, also coming with tools to maintain and polish the weapon. Modern orders of the weapon often shy away from cheaper blaster gas mix, using a higher quality gas that results in brilliantly blue or green bolts and a distinctive firing sound, though "classic" pieces sold second hand may still use the cheaper red stuff. The power packs and small and compact, allowing many to be carried discreetly in case frequent reloads are expected. Reloading is facilitated from a rear break-away in the barrel.

They are often fitted with an optional, custom-fitted off center macroscope, allowing for precision firing out the weapon's unusually long maximum range of sixty-five meters. Though capable of devastating damage in it's default firing mode, quite capable of punching through even heavy infantry armor, it also includes a hefty stun setting to cater to its intended clientele.

LEGALITY​

Legal. Ownership of blaster pistols is not restricted in most of the Galaxy, however openly carrying such a weapon in public might be on more "civilized" worlds. On less civilized worlds, it still might draw unwanted scrutiny.
