The Dusk Temple was an ancient and abandoned Jedi temple established by the Jedi Order near the lifeless planet Eclipse in the Deep Core. The temple was located deep within the asteroid fields around Eclipse. The Dusk Temple was built on a crater-laden asteroid and appears to be a colony/station, with the bulk of the Temple actually being below ground. In order to function, the temple possesses a still-functioning constructed with an artificial environment, atmosphere, and gravity.

Description

The Dusk Temple was established for the Jedi Order by Jedi Master Bruce Guleya, a member of the Jedi High Council shortly after the Hundred-Year Darkness. It was known publicly as a refuge and a retreat for members of the Jedi Order. What made this location so attractive to the ancient Jedi was the fact that it's location was concealed due to the dense surrounding asteroid field. Access to the station required a precise calculated route, which were nearly impossible to navigate without the Force or a continuously-updating drift chart.

The temple was completely established on the surface of the asteroid and offered much in terms of amenities. At the center of the station is a central structure that is known as the hub. Stretching out from the hub are two large bio-domes connected by transparisteel walkways jutting out from the hub; each of these large bio-domes are entered through airlocks and bulkheads between the domes and the corridor and can be sealed. Each bio-dome has it's own climate: one is tropical, and the other is temperate. Each of the bio-domes consist of trees and various flora from around the galaxy—though the past five centuries have seen the domes become unkempt and overgrown. Attached to the roof of the hub are two rusted, non-functional turbolasers. The hub also contains a tower which extends a few meters upward and provides a command center with a 360-degree field-of-vision.

At the back of the central hub is a metallic corridor that extend to the side of the crater; this corridor connects to the deeper regions of the temple. The entrance to the temple itself is access from here and the hangar is concealed nearby in a makeshift cave within the asteroid crater's wall. The temple is still powered by a single hypermatter reactor. It also contains three smaller (and still-working) atmosphere generators, an artificial gravity generator, a rusted and non-functional Knightfall-class shield generator, waste disposal systems, and emergency life support systems. It is also equipped with a subspace communications suite and full spectrum sensor suite.

Although the the temple was a place of sanctuary for members of the Jedi Order, that was not its only purpose. Beneath the surface the temple's facilities were dedicated to research and development for the Jedi Order. Some of the research done within the facility was related to the applications of kyber crystals, beyond their typical use powering lightsabers—some of this information is still stored within the computer databanks within the temple itself.

But the temple had other prizes, as well. The main level of the Dusk Temple contained classrooms, training chambers, chapel, an archive, meditation stone garden, and a great hall containing a soothing fountain which has long gone still and stagnant. A secondary communications center is also located on this level.

The second level contained a training chamber, a small wing of containment cells, access to the hanger, and several living quarters. It also contained all of the auxiliary systems such as the main reactor, main atmosphere generator, and artificial gravity generator.

The third level contained a medium-sized artifact and holocron vaults, the aforementioned research and development center, backup computers, and sensitive archives. Access to this level was restricted by several code-locked doors which might be contained within another artifact long-lost.

To Zigara for the original article.

The location of this Jedi temple (along with the access codes to its lower levels) are contained within Wyck's Jedi holocron.
