Welcome to the Elphrona Grand Prix! An annual event allowing Padawan across the galaxy to show off their extraordinary piloting skills! Knights and Masters alike look forward to this competition in which the Jedi Order's most promising pupils go head to head. The race, one of the rare sporting events in which recourse to Force powers is not merely allowed, but encouraged, has become famous over the years for the many tomfooleries that have ensued.

As the event is not televised, it also serves as a rare opportunity for members of the Order stationed across the galaxy to converge on the Jedi outpost and strengthen the ties that unite the organization. What is at stake in this competition is no longer just a matter of pride, as friendly wagers between spectators to which the council turns a blind eye have become increasingly more frequent over the years.

The race will be conducted using a d20 system in which getting a '1' will result in a critical engine failure and a prompt elimination. Every round, players will also have a chance to roll a second dice if they wish to use Force powers: beware however that the second roll will need to be higher than the first for the action to succeed.

Participants will be expected to post once per 48 hours period after which a map updating the position of each racer will be posted.

If you wish to sign up as a Padawan-racer, all you have to do is reply in this thread linking the character you want to sign-up with and mentioning which racers (numbered 1-8 in the infographic below) you want your character to be represented by during the event!

A viewing thread will also be posted (when we officially get started) for Masters and Knights who might wish to get involved in the fanfare.

I’m probably just going to participate in the viewer thread but wanted to voice my excitement for this type of thread/dice usage combo.
