Since the Hutt kinda destroyed the senate and the mental capacities of those who didn't die, we need a new senate.

One idea that I mentioned in the one senate thread is that we have "Elections" of a sort. While I've mentioned the idea in the past, Bac said that real elections wouldn't work where actual members of the SWRP vote on senators or other officials. However, to add another element to the RP, we could have fake elections. Perhaps candidates would set up RPs where they deliver speeches to crowds, buy ads, create rallies and marches, and other campaign fun. Also, this exposure could enable assassins to go after them more easily as well and could be a means for the Hutts or Sector 13 to go after candidates. In addition, they could also try to gain endorsements from heros of the past and present.

Perhaps at the end of it, the staff could choose which candidate wins based on the quality of the message and what the overall perception others might be. Or some other unmessy means of choosing could occur.

Any thoughts?

I say you let them be without a senate for a while. If the time skip happens then all this would be done then anyway, and if they simply pop senators out of thin air it doenst really add impact to our bombing.

Well, there'd still be the time (maybe a month or so?) where people are campaigning so there wouldn't be a senate. Plus, the candidates would probably reference the "bombing" anyways.

And what was that about a time skip?

No one outside of the staff and the four faction leaders knew about that, Santoro.

But since the cat's out of the bag....

We've been working on a write up for a 1 to 2 year time skip. This is NOT a timeline change, rather what we're calling a "microjump." It's essentially the Fourth Timeline, Part 2. It's to get things done that need to be done, particularly with the Bogan - i.e. expansion into an empire. Once the faction leaders and staff sign off on this, we'll present it to the site for consideration.

DO NOT tell anyone outside of this board about this time skip. No one. If you do, you'll be removed from your leadership positions.

More info will come to you guys soon. Stay tuned.

EDIT: Also, for those not in the know, please don't ask questions yet. We're not going to have a question and answer session here, since you weren't even supposed to know yet. For those who do know more information, please keep it to yourselves. We've already extended the knowledge of this plan far more than I wanted. Thanks.

nope. I suggest the creation of a faction leader board in addition to this one. A sub board or smth.

Tbh I was under the impression that was THIS board. Anyway...

Aside from what I mentioned before, this is a clear chance for Jiang to focus on a military plan without getting bogged in the Senate.

We don't need a board just for faction leaders. When faction leaders need to talk just amongst themselves, they do it on MSN. The reason this board has more than just the faction leaders is for more effective coordination.

So when should we expect the time skip to happen?

Not for a couple of weeks.

First we finalize the write up. Then the faction leaders sign off on it. Then the admins sign off on it. Then the members get to see it, comment, etc. - same as when we changed timelines last time.

After that, we'll give people a couple of weeks to tie up any ends that need tying for their personal plots before the skip happens.

Other than the Bogan expanding to a couple other planets in the galaxy, what else has been imagined for the time skip?

Would Bothawui still be an insurgent planet under Hutt control? Have the Republic or Hutts made any other moves? How did the Republic fix their legislative issue? Have the Jedi made any moves with their fleet from Jade? Is Jade in any form working for the Hutts or Bogan yet? Has the Alsakan Restoration Movement finally made a well known strike or at least was widely credited with one? And have any natural disasters or other wild card events occurred?

What's our general consensus on those issues?

You'll see the write up once it's done. :)
