Emil Ro is a human Centrist politician from Balmorra, the planet's former senator, and the current Supreme Chancellor of the New Republic. An enigmatic man, Emil claimed ancestry from the dreaded Nihil raiders of the ancient past, though proof of this connection has never been forthcoming. He rose from a smalltime, local politician on his homeworld to the mayor of Sobrik, one of its major cities; and later went on to be elected Senator due to his popularity with the military industrial complex on Balmorra. While still a freshman senator, Ro won an election spurred by a vote-of-no-confidence in Supreme Chancellor Owusaan's leadership, becoming one of the youngest Supreme Chancellors in New Republic history.

Biography

Much about Emil Ro's early life is shrouded in mystery and deception, such as who his parents were and his upbringing under their care. He briefly attended the University of Sobrik before pursuing a political career that led to his election to the city council. While on the council, he courted Balmorra's numerous arms dealers and weapon manufactures, and many of his rivals believed he was a puppet for their political interests. The truth of this accusation is, like many parts of Emil's life, mysterious; but Emil allowed them to fester, as many Balmorrans still remembered when their home was the greatest weapons producer in the galaxy, bringing them untold prosperity.

Emil used this sentiment and the name "Ro," claiming it connected him to the lineage of the legendary Nihil raiders, to propel his career further and become the youngest mayor Sobrik had seen in over two decades. His administration continued to court and support Balmorra's arms industry, earning him powerful and wealth friends. By the time he announced his senate candidacy, few doubted that he would secure the seat thanks in part to his charismatic leadership and wealthy donors. The new Senator of Balmorra was a philanthropist, a playboy, and commonly seen holding charity engagements; but even these seemingly normal acts for a politician belied his ambition for further political power.

Powers & Abilities

Emil Ro is Force-sensitive but is not trained and was not aware of his connection to the Force until he met Jedi Master Alexandria Voran. His powers previously manifested as a sharper than average intuition and the occasional and unreliable ability to detect hidden emotion.

Since his Force connection was revealed to him, his powers have slowly increased. Emil has been shown moving and even crushing furniture with his mind, as well as using an ability reminiscent of a mind trick. These abilities have always been involuntary and he doesn't appear to know when or how to activate or deactivate them.
