Kashyyyk was like no where Giran had ever been. Everything felt as if it were made to make Giran feel small: the trees were the size of skyscrapers, the plants were equally as huge most flowers being the size of him and the inhabitants looked as if they could rip his arms out of his sockets. The whole place felt as if it'd been super sized. As it was they were only here responding to a distress call. Apparently a ship had been hit by some great flying beast as it was coming into land and had been brought down a dozen or so miles to the North. Normally a distance that far would be no problem for the normal port authorities. This was kashyyyk though... Luckily for them Mi'la and Giran had been picking up some ingredients for the kitchen on Ajan Kloss. Being the good jedi they were they'd volunteered to go out and find this lost ship. Giran was starting to regret that decision.

He stayed close to his master as they set out from the port. He'd recently made a promise to himself. He'd promised that he'dget stronger, strong enough to protect those that he loved. He would never be a burden again. He felt he'd been doing quite well in that regard; His most recent mission to Vardos had gone off almost without a hitch and he'd felt he'd been helpful. Now though... This whole planet felt like it was created to knock his confidence down. He'd read up on the creatures that lived here: gigantic spiders, exploding bugs and other less easily categorised beasts.

A bead of sweat rolled down Giran's face that had nothing to do with the heat.
"Master please be careful, Kashyyyk is one of the most inhospitable places in the galaxy. Everything here wants to kill you. I'm not sure I can be much help here either. I've never fought anything bigger than myself."
He would be a burden once more it seemed.

What had initially served as a routine duty had evolved into a call to action, as well as possible training exercise. Giran seemed less than pleased with this idea however, but Mila was rather confident that it would be okay. One of the locals was nice enough to let the pair borrow a sky hopper to reach the downed ship, to which Mila began to ran a look over the systems. Sadly the language was all in the native tongue of the wookies, but the mechanical devices were rather intact. Kashyyyk was extremely dangerous, in fact some of the greatest game hunters in the galaxy would come here to try and have some fun. Mila was no hunter, the practice was rather barbaric in her mind, but she knew well enough that to linger on the surface of the planet was asking for death. Giran had clearly read up on this as well, and given how he was, his information was probably more complete than what Mila had alloted; he knew just how bad this idea truly was. "I'm aware of the risks Giran, but one thing you need to keep in mind. Everything here is connect to the force, including life. We will not fight the creatures here, but work through them. Violence only comes if peace is beyond our means." She finished her inspection. Having gotten her seal of approval, as she looked her pupil once more. "And you are never useless dear. You are a jedi. You are anything but helpless." Mila smiled and gestured for the young man to take a seat in the back of the flutter craft, as Mila would climb into the pilot seat and get the pair airborne. Having accomplished the first step of flight, Mila would begin their flight towards the crash site, her eyes moving from watching where she was flying and looking to the world beneath her. She hoped her padawan would be able to enjoy the sight before him, because Mila surely was.

Yes everything was connected master however he personally did not want to be intimately connected to the insides of any of the creatures on this planet. He definitely did not want to work through any of the creatures here or be worked through them for that matter. He didn't roll his eyes, Giran knew his own frustration had nothing to do with his master. She was simply instructing him on things he should have already known. It was very tempting though. She also followed her miniature lecture up with a lovely compliment making all of Giran's internal sass feel petty and childish. Why was it so hard to be angsty around her?

Giran jumped in the back of the flutter craft, which also looked like a giant bug. He did his best to look concerned as he did but figured he probably came off as constipated.
"Just so you know master if you get eaten I'm reciting that speech you just gave to me to the council. I'm sure they'll find it hilarious." He said with half-hearted sarcasm.
As the craft took off it got even harder for Giran to maintain his sour demeanour . The view was spectacular. Giran had never been particularly awed by flying but the scenery of kashyyyk was just something else. There was shades of yellow and pink he'd never seen before and the amount of green, that never got old. The vines wrapping around the giant trees looked like mythological snakes leading all the way down to the abyss that was the shadowlands below. His master's flying was also exceptional, despite the controls all being in a language, he was sure she didn't read. It was all quite magical

He stored the whole experience. Trying to remember every tiny detail so he could recreate it at a later date.
"Ok, this is stunning but I still don't want to be eaten" he chuckled ruefully

It seemed Brahe was having an affect on his fellow padawan, as that comment sounded exactly like something her elder padawan would say. "Then I'll double the effort to prevent that from occurring, because I don't think the council would share your sense of humor." She chimed back, as two could play at that game. That would be quite a low note to go down on, swallowed up by some creature in the shadow lands wasn't Mila's preferred way to die, but if the force willed it that was the draw of the cards. A series of colorful birds shot up from the canopy below, as Mila had to shift out of the way to avoid plowing into them. She could see the smoke plume a little up the ways, as it seemed the pair would be arriving there shortly after. Until then, he could practice getting in touch with the world around him, which would do good in the rescue effort that laid ahead.

"Neither would I, but that's not for us to decide. We can only act as best we can, and hope the force doesn't have our expiration in mind." Mila replied, knowing all about the anxieties of being on an alien world; though frankly the only world she never wanted to go back to was the remnants of Jedha. As the pair traversed on, a colorful small bird hand managed to find its way onto the craft, how Mila wasn't sure, and yet it set itself upon the railing along the side, it's small eyes looking to her and Giran. "Try and reach out with the force Giran, feel how the energies of this world flow, feel the life that thrives under the canopy. Adapt to that energy of the planet, let it feed into you, and you shall become as rooted as the Wroshyr trees that thrive here." Mila motioned to the small bird that was joining the pair on their mission. "Like our friend here, he too is at one with this planet, it's his home. He is well attuned to it's energies. In fact, you can even communicate with him through the force." Mila blinked and glanced back to the colorful aviary species. It seemed friendly enough though, so she didn't see a reason to shoo it away. "Give it a try, and tell me what you feel. Kashyyyk is a wonderful world, but so many can't see the true beauty of it." If Giran dared to do as his master suggested, he could feel the immense amount of life that thrived within it, it was almost overwhelming initially how alive this place was

"Give it a try, and tell me what you feel. Kashyyyk is a wonderful world, but so many can't see the true beauty of it."

Giran looked down at the bird in question and cocked his head. It was strangely unafraid of either Giran or Mi'la and instead seemed mildly curious. Giran reached out, not for the planet at large as he was instructed but for the little bird. Touching such a primitive mind was usually fairly fruitless. There was little you could gleam because the mind in general knew every little. He did, however, feel the pleasure of flight, the love of freedom and the satisfaction of the hunt. This bird, despite its size, was an apex predator. It did not fear Mila and Giran because they were in its domain and he was king here. Fascinating. How could such a tiny creature be an apex predator on a planet full of monsters.

Giran finally did as he was instructed. He reached out to the rest of planet feeling it's call. He'd done this once before on Nar Shaddaa and the amount of sheer sentient emotion had almost overwhelmed him. Here was different, most of the planet was not sentient as would be commonly understood. Waves of primal force washed over him and he could do nothing but witness it. He could feel the forest below not as an amalgamation of different flora and fauna but rather one living organism. Every part had a role to play to make the system work. It was like a great tapestry painted by the most skilled hand.

Giran finally shut himself off from the great tapestry of Kashyyyk and turned to his master.
"That was... Quite an experience master! Fancy warning me what I'm getting into next time!" Giran shouted over the noise of the wind "thank you for showing me that it was beautiful!"
Giran looked down to see that the bird still had not left. It cocked his head at him. If he didn't leave soon he'd be miles away from his own hunting grounds. Giran tried to shop him away but only got a nip for his troubles.
"Fine you can stay" Giran sighed sucking at his newly bleeding finger.

Mila smiled back to her apprentice, feeling that he was taking in the life that flourished all around them. Their little aviary friend continued to tag along, as he seemed rather curious about the pair. She had always believed in getting used to the planet before tapping into it via the force, and hopefully her apprentice would take the same approach. Little did the pair know that yes, their little friend was an apex predator, but this was merely a young one. "You okay back there?" She asked, hearing him mutter something to himself.

As Giran was feeling for the force around him, he would sense something angry, and rather unpleasant moving towards both himself and his master. Mila didn't realize it initially, until she reflexively jerked the controls for the flutter craft to the side, as something big and angry shot up from under them. She managed to stabilize her even out, but whatever this creature was, it was none to happy with the jedi for their intrusion. "Well, I guess we know what downed that ship." Mila shouted, as she attempted to dip down towards the treeline, hoping to make their new admirer think twice before attempting to kill them; only time would tell if it worked or not. "See if you can try and calm him down Giran! I'd rather not crash this thing so soon." If she didn't have to focus on avoiding whatever this beast was, Mila would have given it a go, but sadly the force did not have such a thing in mind.

"I'm fine master, our little friend here is just letting me know who's..." Giran cut off as he felt something big and angry barreling towards their aircraft.
Before Giran could even warn his master she was already taking evasive action, making Giran's stomach do a backflip as she dove left. The beast shot up from underneath them. It's snapping jaws inches away from Giran's arm.

"See if you can try and calm him down Giran! I'd rather not crash this thing so soon."

"Calm it down! Master that thing is exactly what I was talking about not wanting to be eaten by. Actually, maybe I SHOULD let it eat me, maybe it'll get full!" Giran shouted incredulously

Despite his doubt Giran reached out with the force and touched the creatures minds. It was angry, very angry. It's mind was like a tornado and whenever Giran felt out with a tendril the wind buffeted it away. The primal anger was such an alien emotion to Giran. He tried again and again but it's anger and Giran's own more complex fear meant he couldn't get through.

"I can't do it master! It's like trying to put a square block in a round hole. He just won't let me in!" Giran shouted in frustration

He could do this! He had to, he couldn't let his master down yet again. He reached out to the beast. This time he let himself me taken by the alien whirlwind of primal emotion. Fear, Anger and Hunger. It was hunting and it was hungry very hungry. Giran pushed back with the most primal emotion he could muster, his will to live. He sent the creature images of biting, clawing and violence. They would not be easy pray. The creature should find someone else to hunt.

The creature hesitated.
