BIOGRAPHY
Born in the Planet Uyter as the middle child of the farmers Tarlson and Siala Daivand, Ephiny always dreamed of leaving her family farm to travel across the Galaxy, visiting exotic places and having a life full of adventures. Her siblings are Erdric (her older brother) and Lena (her younger sister). Ephiny’s desire to travel away from her homeworld was inspired by tales told by her paternal grandmother Maryna, who was a pilot before marrying a farmer. Many times Ephiny secretly escaped from her chores in the farm to stay with her grandmother to listen to her tales, with the ones about the Jedi being Ephiny’s favorite. The Jedi Order always fascinated the young Ephiny and she had several holobooks regarding their history and tales about them. Sometimes she would day dream about being a Jedi. Her parents always scolded her, saying that she needed to stop fantasizing and focus on learning how to take care of a farm. Ephiny constantly complained with her grandmother about not wanting to spend the rest of her life as a farmer.
When Ephiny was 14 years-old, she and her siblings traveled to the capital of Uyter to sell the crops of the year there. It was the first time that they traveled alone, with her brother Erdric, at the time 20 years-old, being responsible for her and Lena. While traveling, they were attacked by a group of thieves that attempted to steal the crops. Before the thieves could flee, a Jedi Knight, who was visiting Uyter, intervened and defeated the criminals.
The Jedi escorted the siblings back to their parents, who invited the Force-sensitive to stay in the farm as gratitude for rescuing their children. During the stay in the Daivand farm, the Jedi identified Ephiny as Force-sensitive and talked with the girl and her parents about the possibility of her joining the Order. Ephiny happily accepted the offer, but her parents vehemently refused and they started to argue. Her grandmother, who was silent most of the conversation, finally spoke. Maryna revealed that she is Force-sensitive and during her youth a Jedi invited her to join the Order, but she refused and continued her life as a pilot. She was happy with her life, but sometimes she thinks of how her life could have been if she accepted the offer. Maryna talked with her son and his wife about allowing Ephiny to become a Jedi and after a heated discussion, she was able to convince them. Then, after saying goodbye to her family, Ephiny left Uyter to train to become a Jedi.
For the next 12 years, Ephiny trained to improve her skills with the Force. For loving stories, she soon fell in love with the order's archives and decided to become a Jedi Archivist. After becoming a Knight, she decided to travel the Galaxy to expand the Order's knowledge about it, while at the same time doing her duties as a Jedi.
Personality
During her time in Uyter, Ephiny was a childish and naïve girl, with an ambition to broaden her horizons, but with no idea what “real life” means. However, she changed after joining the Jedi Order, becoming more mature and learning that life in the Galaxy isn’t the endless adventure that she always thought. Influenced by the Jedi philosophy, she adopted pacifist tendencies. This way, when in a fight Ephiny will prefer to disarm rather than kill, which she will do only as a last resort. She is extremely loyal to her friends, doing everything that she can to protect them.
Ephiny isn’t good at dealing with personal loss and the death of those close to her. During her simple life in the Daivand farm, she never dealt with it. As a Jedi, she learned to not allow the grief to overcome her, for this she started to use meditation to maintain control.
Skills
Ephiny had a great ability to improvise, being able to fabricate stories and plans to help in dire situations. Being a prolific writer, when traveling to other planets, Ephiny would record the common life of its inhabitants and important events that she witnessed. She is a relatively good duelist, but prefers to use defensive techniques, and can also use Force healing.
