GANG WAR ON ERIADU

Ever since we voted out the Empire in a referendum shortly after the major schism between the Sith and the non-Sith [more on that in the Eriadu Gazette issue 157-23], we've become a much stricter nation. We've restricted blaster ownership, we went through a thorough cleansing of our democratically elected leadership to ensure no traces of Sith-aligned malcontents were still manipulating things behind the scenes and lately we [at the Eriadu Weekly] have begun our research in the current owners of the old Zaa Fenn penthouse in one of our capital city's skyline-defining skyscrapers.

We discovered that it was owned by a shell company, which was in turn also owned by a shell corporation that only popped up on our radar as also having owned the deed to a cantina on the lower levels of Coruscant. We were very close to discovering who owned it, so the city could buy it and once again let people actually live there. Then, suddenly, the lights went back on.

Its current occupant? One Kara Zaa Fenn. Yes, you read that right. Zaa Fenn as in the Crymorah Crime Family that has ruled over Eriadu's underworld for decades while we all suffered under the rule of the Sith. The same Zaa Fenn whose main enforcer was pushed from that very penthouse by the then Sith Empress herself, Darth Anduil.

Local security officers are already reporting suspicious deaths of prominant crime figures. Customers at the su'shi restaurant that was suspected to be one of the Myriadu Knives' main haunts were shocked when a man in full Mandalorian armor delivered several severed heads and dropped them on the counter in full display of both staff and guests! Turns out the heads belonged to the boss of said gang and his three closest associates!

One of our prominent politicians, Barr Ferdu, has spoken to our screemsheet suggesting that this is a good thing. Without blasters these gangs have resulted to fighting with knives and vibro-swords. This significantly reduced to risk of civilian casualties and let's face it; the more these gangs kill each other the less crime we're likely to experience on our great planet on the crossrounds of the Hydian and the Rimma trade routes.

We must add that one of our reporters has spotted Barr Ferdu enjoying drinks at the remodeled Zaa Fenn penthouse. Apparently its being rebranded as a social club for the planet's elites. The Eriadu Weekly, however, worries if the return of the Crymorah Syndicate to Eriadu is just the first stone cast for a disastrous outcome for our planet and our people.

RECTIFICATION

In our earlier story we wrote that we observed the democratically elected politician, Barr Ferdu, enjoy drinks at the social club owned and operated by an individual who has a similar sounded last name than that of a criminally-inclined group of people that made Eriadu their home prior to 138 ABY.

The social club in which mister Ferdu has been seen to enjoy a leisure activity has all the required permits to operate a business in the top-floor penthouse of the skyscraper. Its proprietress has never been suspected, accused or convicted of a crime and has instead a good standing with the Bounty Hunter's Guild. We [the Eriadu Weekly] like to apologize on behalf to 'Kara Zaa Fenn' on behalf of our entire staff. The writer of the original story no longer works for the weekly after careful research have uncovered multiple accounts of untruthful reporting.

Again, we profoundly and most sincerely apologize for any damage done to the reputation of Kara Zaa Fenn and her family.
