She waited until everyone else got out from the lift chute before clambering out herself, checking over her pockets and once more taking her blaster out of its' holster, content to keep at the rear of the group. The console, however, attracted her attention, looking at it to determine whether or not there was any language she could read. Perhaps they could access it, gain some information about this Droid thing the Hutt voice had been talking about.

It looked to be recently used, too, which meant whoever accessed it last might have some valuable insight. However, she would keep a keen ear out, just in case more buzz droids or any other mechanical horror would come crawling out from above, below, or the sides.

Cyrene let the techies approach the door and it's console, tech wasn't her thing, she how to maintain her equipment but slicing and all that kark was above her understanding, she'd stick to want she knew and that was hunting and tracking.

her ears perked up at mentioned someone had passed through here, her glanced at the side doors, her grip tightening around her blaster, this position was a good place catch them in a cross fire and she didn't like that.

Newton would look around when they got to the console and it looked like they were on the lookout for threats. Buzz droids are most likely if there would be any others given there are those hatches to the sides. Newton, as he's at the console, would put his blaster pistol on top of it so it's in easy reach in case there are more of those things.

Newton would then start working the console, attempting to unseal and open the blast door. Hopefully they are getting close to the end of this. When/if the door would start opening up, Newton would arm himself with the pistol once again, being ready for whatever this armory intelligence might have up it's sleeve. It was clever with the turbolift ploy, and it likely won't end there.

So far, so good.

Having slipped into the hallway which was illuminated by both Eyegee's headlights and a light from Casany's rifle, Gett'se continued to eye the maintenance hatches warily as he moved over to the console. He eyed the console briefly, scanning it to see if he knew how to operate it or recognized the language it was in before once more eyeing the maintenance hatches.

Call him paranoid, he didn't trust a damn thing in this bunker.

Covering the suit wearing droid talker as he approached the console, Gett'se would open a pouch on his belt with his free hand if the man was unable to open the door through standard means.

"Suit... If you need it." He said from behind his helmet as he pulled a port scanner from the pouch. The electronic device was wound with cabling that could be plugged into the console. He also had a security spike that could be attached at the end if a little more brute force slicing was required. Gett'se was only a fair to middling slicer and he hoped the suit was better with the rig than he was.

Naturally, this whole interaction was made with a blaster at the ready and aimed loosely in the direction of the nearest maintenance hatch.

IG-0R followed behind the eclectic collection of organics, metallic footplates clunking along with the various boots and other footwear as they approached the console and the door beside it. Its spotlight swept back and forth along the area and across the ceiling. The weapon in the unit’s remaining hand remained steady and forward until they at last reached the sealed entrance. A photoreceptor rotated to gaze toward the suited one.

“Proceed.”

It hadn’t responded to the suited organic’s initial query regarding the console as it obviously had its only limb full. Besides which he was at least semi-confident their meat digits could handle a simple access point, particularly with the proper tools at hand. The Mandalorian seemed prepared for things as typical of its kind.

“Avoid destroying the console,” it suggested in a mechanical monotone. A spare photoreceptor turning to regard their work for judgement and potential correction if necessary.

The console before Newton was clearly operational and even recently active, but accessing it himself for use wasn’t as simple as he would likely prefer. Authorization for this particular console was highly restricted and without the security codes any input only fed back increasingly insistent requests for credentials. Some form of digital or manual work around would be required to unseal the doorway before the assembled group.

Gett’se offered his assistance in the form of specialized equipment, which was for the best. Newton’s experience with technology would allow him to easily note he would have quite a bit of trouble with a simple datapad on its own, even if it was much more up to date than the console itself

Others were cautious of their environment, justifiably so, keeping a close eye on the door and the hatches that flanked it on either side. Occasional thumps or the sound of strained cabling or sparking electronics emitted from the turbolift shaft they’d originally come from.

The only real warning was the sudden scuttling that sounded in the middle of Newton’s work, a metal-on-metal clitter-clack that preceded the swift hiss of opening wall hatches a moment after. Four droids resembling spindly metal spiders with a spherical body, not much larger than buzz droids, emerged and immediately leapt from where they’d been skulking in wait of intruders.

With six nimble magnetic feet in addition to a pair of front legs that menaced with ten-inch vibroblades they were enough of a threat already. But it was also clear that beneath their arrays of glowing photoreceptors lay readied fusion cutting tools that could as easily burn flesh and armor as bulkheads.

The first leapt directly toward the Gett’se, and the second at Vizim, both unleashing rapid binary chittering and presenting their buzzing blades to dig into their targets. The third dropped to the floor and scuttled wildly toward Allegra, swiping at her legs once it got close, while the fourth skittered across the wall toward Newton and swung a blade toward the man’s face.

The paranoid assassin was kept on edge the entire time the console was worked on. His lightsaber slipped from its hiding spot and was held in his hand, pistol in the other. If his secret was out, no point in being subtle anymore.

With the creaks and noises all around, his eyes were constantly sweeping, and more than that, the extra senses he had within the Force were as well.

When the droids leapt out of the shadows, Vizim wasn't even in control of his own body. Whether it was the Force or training that took over wasn't clear, but the saber in his hand lit up a blood red. He stepped sideways quickly, sending a flick of his wrist out so that it would hopefully slice through the droid in the air as it hopefully sailed past.

The pistol came up a moment later, firing into the body of the droid whether it was still alive or not.

The huntress was poised ready for the attack, metallic scuttling gave away what was too come. more buzz droids, though they weren't going after her this time at least.

She raised her blaster and tracked the one heading to the suit (@The Good Doctor), the one had covered hear on the ramp earlier she pulled the trigger aim to hit it dead center of it body. It wouldn't survive a direct hit like that.

she would nodded at the suit before turning to look for more targets or to help the others, the room steeped in a red glow from the lightsaber, she had suspicion that monochrome was a Sith but this pretty much confirmed it. perhaps today she would make arrest .

Every thump was a potential target, every strained cabling or sparkling electronic a potential droid who wanted to strangle Cas if not electrocute her. Of all the contraptions that the universe created, well, droids happened to be the most creative as far as murder, mayhem and misery went.

People were often quick to blame themselves on everything wrong with morality in the world. Had they seen an IG unit kill someone? A ‘medical droid’ disassemble someone? Cas had. She would not forget it anytime soon.

At the clitter-clack, her illuminating rifle touched base with the elevator shaft. Four droids, and “droids” was not a good word to exist in this Mandalorian’s mind right about now. Fortunately for her, unfortunately for them, her rifle was indeed her flashlight.

It flashed alight just then, right beside the flash of a lightsaber, and Cas had indeed gambled like she was at a table of sabaac. The four droids had gone for four targets and none of them were her. That was their mistake.

Squeezing the trigger, bolts spewed forth toward this droid—missed—that droid—missed—then at the droid bound to the floor as it swiped toward the legs of Blondie (@Killa Ree). It was unlikely that this droid would avoid getting shot up since it was focused on its target while scuttling across the floor.

Nothing is ever as simple as it seems...

Newton would accept the Mando's (@Arclight) slicer tools and confidently nod. The console was protected than he thought, he can't operate it without hacking it. Luckily the Mandalorian had some tools, a port scanner and a security spike. They should do fine. He has two options for doing this, the port scanner which should be able to bypass the console, and the security spike that can brute force through it, maybe.

The Blackwell manager knows how to use them. Military grade security measures would take more time for the port scanner to get through, but then again the port scanner is a much more recent, modern device, and should be able to bypass any of the ancient console's security measures in short order which should be primitive by this point. Maybe.

But then again, Newton knows that this operation will may take time if his hunch is off, and this is a timed mission. On that note, Newton would then ask the IG droid "You know how much more time we have left?". If the IG droid knows, or has a general idea of how much time remains, Newton would adjust his method. If time is short, he could use the tunner, if not he could go with the reliable port scanner. He would also begin connecting the port scanner to the console, and begin slicing through using that.

"Keep them away from me" he asked of the team. If this process is interrupted he'd have to start all over. The one buzz droid heading for him was being attended to by the cathar-cat-thing.

He would look glance around to the sound of a lightsaber activating, and it's red. Must be a Sith. What a rag-tag team. "Heh. If this doesn't work, we could use that saber to cut through the door" he said. That could take some time time it's own depending on how thick the door is, but it's something to be pointed out just in case.

While more fighting would continue. Newton would be slicing still be away.

Karking droids.

With the one rapidly approaching, she aimed a trio of shots at the screeching thing running towards her, same as the female (@Die Shize) had. Hopefully that would do the trick, but she would try to guard the slicer/suit (@The Good Doctor)'s back. At the flooding of red light from the shadowy one (@Phoenix), she wasn't really too surprised.

From what she was told, Jedi didn't tend to cover their faces too often. But still, disappointing. Hmm, perhaps he had decent guys she could get a job from?

If they made it out alive.

Handing off the slicing gear, Gett'se let the suit get to work as he continued to eye the hatch. Slicing was a delicate and often time consuming process, something that the mandalorian warrior hoped they weren't running out of.

Clatter-clatter-click-click.

The sound of skittering metal was the only warning the team had before one of the hatches popped open. Gett'se didn't wait to get a good look whatever droid it was that came flying out of the hatch towards his face. Looking was a waste of time in this moment.

Instead, he aimed and pulled the trigger.

The heavy blaster bolt screeched through the short distance towards the droid but Gett'se didn't trust that it would be enough, especially in these close quarters. His offhand was pulling his vibroblade from the sheath on his chest as he pulled the trigger, and was stabbing at the droid with the rapidly vibrating blade by the time it reached him.

Karking droids.

The mechanical spider-like droids would be an issue, particularly because IG-0R was currently not in a position to actually do anything about them. It's photorceptors focused on the organics as it began to extradite itself from the doors.

"Attempt to survive and render them inoperable."

Pep talks were not a strong suit.

Should it engage in further pep talk? Probably, the organics looked like they might need it. It's photorecptors focused on the female Mando as it grabbed up its borrowed weapon.

"Looking strong, Mando."

Mandos liked that kind of thing, right? Several of its processes confirmed that they did. Once it managed to grab its blaster, it would take a second to aim before firing a shot at the mechanical spider that seemed to be going for the suited human. The mando could handle itself, the shadowy human too and it didn't really care if the weird female got herself sliced up.

This had begun to become a game to Z1MM.

Through its many eyes and with its many ears, the master controller observed the intruders as they progressively made their way deeper into the facility. They had faced and overcome myriad threats and complications in their breach, though the IG unit had taken a considerable amount of damage and their way in would very much not be their way out - the destroyed lift from which they now exited was a testament to that.

No, instead, they would find themselves deep, deep below ground in a hostile facility without means of escape. A flawless execution of the defense, the master controller had concluded early. These organics would surely perish below ground, detritus to add to the facility’s wreckage.

The droids sent after them had been a diversion; they were not expected to survive, merely disrupt. Delay. Distract. The console had been accessed prior to their arrival and their first instinct had been to force the blast door ahead of them open. Another success in the brilliant Z1MM’s ingenious plan.

Newton would find, despite the arcane demands for credentials and verification, forcing his way through the system would grant him access, in no small part thanks to the Mandalorian’s aid. With a violent and shrill hiss, the doors began to slowly open and unbar the path ahead. Sounds of combat faded away with the final droid’s death, though the hallway was certainly not still. The doors opened agonizingly slow, as if taunting the determined group.

Those paying attention to the corridor as the doors parted, though, would quickly realize that there had been a reason the console was recently-accessed. Standing a meter apart in the cramped corridor, some fifteen, twenty meters down the hallway were two familiar, yet terrifying sights.

Looming at nearly three-meters tall, the ancient war droids released from their eternal slumber stood vigil before a massive vault door. These droids bore the golden death’s head emblems of Xim’s more autonomous, deadly Guardian-class war droids. Though they were equipped similarly to the rest, these were designed with greater independence in mind, and centuries of battle simulations provided them with innumerable combat scenarios they could run through in mere moments to adequately prepare.

The doors fully opened, and for a brief moment, there was only silence as the droids stood stock-still, as if deactivated. Then, in unison and without warning, the two raised their beam tubes and each fired off a volley of two shots at the group, sending eight solid beams in their direction. Two were fired towards Newton, two to Vizim, one to Allegra, one to Casany, and two to Gett’se. All shots were for the torso, as it was easiest to hit.

They were nearing the end, but they would not be leaving this facility alive. Not if the guardians of Xim had anything to do about it.

The door creaked open in front of him and revealed two more of the tank-like figures within. There was a moment of stillness as they appeared deactivated, but nothing could be that simple for long.

With his saber already out, he slipped the pistol back into its holster. He wanted his saber and he wanted the Force. Blaster bolts had already shown to be next to worthless against these things.

And then they moved.

He swore quietly and didn't wait for them to fire before beginning to move. He didn't know how these old-school weapons interacted with a lightsaber, and he wasn't willing to "test" it where failing meant his torso got pulverized.

Instead, he did the same thing he had done earlier. He dropped low to the ground so that the beams would pass by overhead, using the Force to guide his movements as he reached out with it to tug at the droid's internals once again. Slowing, stopping, freezing, seizing, it didn't really matter to Vizim. As long as it stopped the assault and hopefully killed the droid, he'd be satisfied.

Boom - The door had open. Newton had gotten the door openned, thanks to the assistance of the one Mandalorian's tools. The doors would open slowly. The droids coming from the hatches would be all dead by this point, Newton even saw the carcass of the droid that looked like was on a collision course for him. Thank goodness that that didn't get to him. He didn't see who taken it out because he was busy concentrating.

Anyways, as the door opened, he would set the tools down and then grab the pistol from the top of his console. He was ready for any more tricks the armory intelligence might have up it's sleeve. If Newton were a droid intelligence, he would have some of the best droids guarding him as much as possible, or whatever other nasty tricks it might have

As the doors were finishing opening, he could see two more of the big guard droids from earlier. Ones that can shrug off blaster fire. Newton was prepared to move by this point, Newton would duck behind the console he was still behind console quickly, the beams aimed towards him would fly overhead and he would have the console as cover to himself in case they decided to follow it up with more attacks towards him. Granted it wouldn't be good cover, but Newton was prepared to move some more as well.

"Did someone say they had explosives?" He said. "Now this would be a good time..." Newton said. After the first round of beam shots were fired, Newton would peak his head to observe the situation. Newton is really limited against what he can do against these droids himself, not being having a whole lot in the way of gear and not being a trained killer. He'll be able to follow up with attacks of his own if he can, or be prepared to evade attacks again.

One door closed, another one opened.

To more karking droids.

This was starting to get on her nerves. Gritting her teeth, the moment they came to life she was prepared. Ducking down when the first fire came in her direction, also trying to duck somewhat behind the console. Granted, she had armor on, but she didn't fancy any holes in her that didn't belong. The suited one mentioned grenades; perhaps they would work against droids?

As the shadowy, red-bladed one (@Phoenix) once more did his Force thing, she side-stepped over, gripping the grenade.

Kad, let this work. "Head's up!"

Priming it, she lobbed it towards the droid duo's feet to detonate close to less-armored bits of their infrastructure and rolled, not content to stay in one place and make herself an easy target, still gripping her blaster in her off-hand in case the things wanted to remain upright.

Thank goodness the other living beings weren't too close, hopefully she wasn't the only one with grenades. Maybe Steel Skin (@Arclight) had some more firepower with him, but she wasn't going to hold up much more hope than that. Or perhaps even that other girl, the one with the small bladder (@Die Shize). If not, they were skrewed, and not in a very fun way.

“Agreed!” Cas responded to Igor’s compliment about the Mando looking strong. Gett’se had certainly proven himself; he had not gotten the chance to those years ago. Then she noticed Igor’s ‘droid eyes’ as she turned away from her shot. “Oh, me?”

Her own efforts appeared to pay off when it came to helping Blondie, but really that was just to help everyone’s efforts in getting the hell out of here, and so far everyone was doing an excellent job of it. They had made it this far as much because of cooperating with each other as the IG unit who continued to cooperate with them. For now.

For now, the lot of them had two droids ten feet tall to deal with; a whole lot of mass and a whole lot of effect when it came to being attacked by said droids. Whatever that meant, Cas did not waste time thinking on it. Her eyes had glimpsed the deathly emblems of her enemies and they only helped to boost her reaction speed.

Cas was already on the move as those doors began to open, not content to be caught off guard once again. The corridor was cramped but the wall was wide enough to hold her own width as she slammed her back against it so that her shoulder hit the doorframe. The single beam that bellowed her way had missed as she hurried aside.

The Mandalorian’s thoughts swarmed on returning fire with her rifle as much as on the weapons around her. She had a fellow vod who had been fortunate enough to not get kidnapped with more alcohol in his bladder than armor on his body and, perhaps just as good, there was a Forcer in their midst.

Someone called for grenades, someone else answered. Meanwhile, Cas responded to Mask by peeking her rifle out from behind her cover and firing a flurry of bolts into the head of the same droid that he himself was targeting.

The spider droid slumped onto the vibrating knife in Gett'se's hand before clattering to the floor. Deactivating the humming blade and re-sheathing it, Gett'se continued to eye the hatches warily for a moment before breathing a sigh of relief. The sigh turned into a sharp intake of breath however as he turned his head and caught sight of the energy sword in the wizard's hand.

Red blade.

The word echoed in his head as distant memories long buried came back to the surface. Screams in the night before the humming crimson blade of a red robed swordsman.

He didn't have time to dwell on the memory however as the Suit made headway with his signal tracer and the bulkhead hissed open. Whatever prize he had been expecting behind door number one, the one he got wasn't one that he wanted.

Two death's heads and a pair of metal monstrosities to match.

Gett'se didn't wait around for the murder machines to move.

"Focus left!" He shouted as his left arm rose, firing the wrist rocket there at the leftmost droid's feet. The rocket would explode into a hail of shrapnel that would hopefully fly up into the droids less protected underside.

Hopefully.

In movement as the war robot's arms snapped upright, Gett'se was ducking to the side, half shoving Suit further into cover as energy beams sliced through where they had occupied. True to his shouted command, Gett'se's pistol snapped to the left hand droid as he squeezed a trio of heavy blaster bolts off at the target. The Blackwell pistol was a beast of a gun, capable of punching through most personal armor in one shot. Gett'se wasn't sure what kind of armor those ancient war robots were packing, but he hoped the gun would be equally as effective against them.

Cyrene's breathing was slow and steady as the door open to reveal the war droids blocking the way, they were slightly different marked with a symbol, unlike the other one that they faced not long ago.

there was some distance between them, they looked almost deactivated so she hesitated for a second but it seemed that was their plan, they sprang to life open firing, she dodged to the left side of the doorway out of the way of the incoming energy beams.

holstering her pistol she pulled her ZOK-10 off her back, adjusting her scope to its lowest zoom setting, crouching down on the left side she rested her rifle against the door frame, slowing her breathing, she lined up her crosshairs on the rightmost droid, aiming at the flame projector in its head, as she exhaled and with smooth, sharp click she let the bolt fly to it's intended target.

The way forward was not shut but it may as well have been considering the droids in front of them barring the way forward. IG-0R did not find any of the droids objectionable in the slightest, on the contrary, the IG unit rather thought they were exemplars of what it meant to be battle droids... the only issue was that they were firing upon those IG-0R had temporarily allied with.

How distasteful that it would need to combat more resources valuable droids in order to protect the organic scum that stood alongside it. Still, the commands repeating in the unit's droid brain ad infinitum demanded progress at any cost. It had already cost the IG unit more than it cared to consider and the mission was still not yet accomplished.

Fine, it would need to do everything by itself.

Explosives?

Regrettably useful against such opponents but enough to render them beyond any hope of salvage in the future if done right. IG-0R watched as one of the human females threw a grenade, focusing it's fire on the head-section of the droid closest to the grenade to hopefully break the protections of the more sensitive pieces of equipment prior to the explosion of the grenade.

The ancient war automatons lurched into motion, the overhead lights gleaming dangerously on their highly polished chest insignia. These were not mere Guardian units, these were elite warriors of the Despot's officer corps. Machines which had seen combat, and had survived on the battlefield. Countless enemies had been destroyed at their hands.

They moved with lethal purpose, almost eager to increase their tallies, and hone their skills in real combat.

Though their movements were smooth an precise at first, Vizim's use of the Force caused them to lurch and falter, slowing and falling out of step, although they were not stopped. They loosed another volley from their forearm-mounted beam tubes and palm-mounted heatbeam projectors, searing energy raking toward the intruders.

It was then that heavy blaster fire ripped into one of the droids. The sturdy armor mitigated some of the damage, but not all; molten-edged penetrations caused fountains of sparks to erupt from the left droid, staggering it. A barely dodged glancing shot from a sniper rifle still ruined its flame projector and carved a deep furrow in the cranial turret.

The problem with Guardian-class war-robots was not their solidity or combat ability, but really, just how badly out of date their expectations were. In the days of Xim, they had strode the battlefield with nothing to fear; not infantry-portable energy weapon could touch their thick, highly reflective armor, only anti-tank weapons such as artillery beamers and large-caliber cycler cannons having a hope of stopping them. The comparison to a tank had been an apt one.

But this was not the Hutt-Xim War anymore. Millennia of exceedingly slow but steady technological development had created handheld weapons which could easily pierce their thick hides, whereas before, their biggest threat may have come from a spice-crazed Hutt soldier-slave with a lunge mine, or a devotee of the Magnus Kasi martial art. Regardless, they had judged that as long as they could keep their opponents at range, they had little to fear.

They were wrong, and the grenade - rolled between the legs of the left robot - merely added insult to injury. Its balance gyros damaged, the hulking machine toppled to the floor. Its partner, meanwhile, reassessed the situation, and plodded for the nearest cover, loosing covering fire at the group as it went...

Newton was still observing, the apparent Sith man was working his magic on the one droid to some effect, and the rest were bringing the pain with wrist-rockets, grenades and blaster fire. The end result, one droid neutalized, or so it seems, and another one trying to find cover. The Blackwell Manager was safe where he was from it's covering fire, but they needed to take down the remaining droid.

The droid engineer would then take aim at the remaining droid as it's trying to retreat, firing three heavy blaster shots aiming for the head. It's a big target, so why not?

Regardless of those shots would strike true or not, he would shift his attention to the damaged droid that was downed. Sure it's down for now, but it could get itself back up. Better to neutralize now - permanently - while it's in front of them than later coming from their rear. Newton would then take aim that the droid's neck and fire three shots at it as well. These are heavy blaster shots aiming at a joint that's most likely not going to be as heavily armored. As the droid's immobile now, Newton's shots shouldn't miss, the droid should be liquidated if they connect.

Back to the other droid that's still standing, the group's combined abilities/firepower should be able to make short work of it, or at least he hopes so.
