The Jedi temple, a location having stood the tests of time for thousands of years, now nothing more than a glorified museum. The Imperial Palace it had been previously transformed into, the pinnacle of evil and suffering, slapped with a new coat of paint and a few dividing barriers for the civilian population to explore. It was, at least to Hera, disgusting. Not only to have history trampled on by the Sith in years past, but to do nothing to restore the temple to its original, natural beauty.

Instead, the detachment of three Jedi would find themselves at the back of a tour group 'exploring' the Jedi Temple, only twenty-five credits a person. Their mission would have them dodge the tour group and security cameras to look for any hidden Jedi passages. If artifacts could be found, excellent, but more importantly they were to note their locations and seal them up. Maybe one day the Jedi would return to this temple, but until that day came it was imperative that the general population did not accidentally stumble upon weapons and knowledge they had no business playing with.

But there was to be no violence of any kind. To show any hostility, to force their way into any area at the point of the blade, would show the rest of the galaxy that there were no differences between Jedi and Sith. This mission must be handled delicately, otherwise it could have intense repercussions for years to come.

Masquerading as a tourist oohing and awing at the architecture of this ancient palace while searching for secret passages to block up? Yeah she could do that well enough; it wasn’t that far of a stretch to feign awe for while the tour guide droned on about building materials that came from far off systems and the structural integrity of arches far surpassing the norms of its day, Rah’la was genuinely impressed.

Her eyes traveled to the ceiling noting the ornamentation rampant in the structure was repeated there in full force. It was as though some ancient artist constrained by the girth of the walls he had been illuminating, upon the expanse of the ceiling he had found release and freedom to let his designs breath, and breath she did softly to her companions, ”By my mother’s eyes, would you look at that?”

Accompanying her Master, Oorrl Fonwim by name, and a Zabrak by the called Crix Aran she had recently met while on Corellia, Rah’la blended into the crowd appropriately. Wearing a dun brown walking skirt, her knee high boots were mostly hidden from view save for a good six inches that the hem was cut above the level of her ankle. Over this she was attired in a straw colored blouse with billowy sleeves capped by a forest green vest that was left open down the front and hung well below her waist. This provided convenient cover for her lightsaber just in case the party should run into difficulty.

She didn’t really expect to run into a situation where she would have to defend herself from attack, but one never knew. In short, she never went anywhere without it if she could help it. Lowering her eyes she looked about the massive chamber noting there were areas of this museum that were roped off from the public just as she had been forewarned. Her eyes flitted to the group moving on behind the tour guide, a job she well knew from working summers with her cousins on Glee Anselm, and hoped the worker would not see her small trio was steadily falling behind the group.

The Imperial Palace Museum was, in a word, boring. It was big and it was grand and it was full of so much stuff from all over the Galaxy but it was, in the end, still boring. The only real reason it was boring to Crix, though, was that he had been on the tour before about four times by this point. His first school had taken him when he was, like, ten and then his second school had taken him a few times.

First was the time he went because he had taken up art because there was a girl he liked in the class, then in politics and lastly in the history class he'd taken. The politics he'd taken because Mr Beecher was hot as kark - the history class he'd taken because he kind of enjoyed it, nerdy as it was.

So, dressed in a shirt and a leather jacket, Crix idled with the others in their group.

He blew a bubble of chewing gum as he idly wandered with the group.

"They've shined some of the statues since last time."
he noted in a bored tone, "Usually they're not quite so... bronze."

Crix had left all of his weapons behind on his shuttle with his droids, though he had brought along his mutli-tool but he wasn't sure how much he would actually need it.

It felt like it had been ages since she was on Coruscant, the last time she was here, she had been on the run, avoiding authorities to send her back to Andara's Children's Home, or as it was well known as an orphanage by her and the other kids there. There was no fooling them that they were not wanted by anyone and she was thankful for the chance encounter she had with Emryc. Though, she wasn't sure what to expect when she arrived, maybe some hope that things would be different, but nothing had changed over the years. It was still dingy, still had the same types of people and their attitudes. Though there was one thing different she could feel about Coruscant and that was its presence in the Force, more so the nexus where Sith and Jedi temples once stood. Now, it just seemed obscene to see in its place, a museum for educating the masses about their religions.

Outside the museum were protestors, holding signs that read NO SITH! NO JEDI! and it brought a small grin to the woman's face as she observed from one of the museum's many windows. She was there not for the museum itself, but to stroke tensions that were outside the building and elsewhere on Coruscant as the wary sentiment for the Force wielders were driving a doubts into the minds of the masses. There was passion in their shouts, and it was a shame the glass blocked out most of the noise. She brushed a red lock of hair that had dropped down from behind her ear as she watched some more people join the protests outside and what looked to be a security guard to stand out there to make sure things did not get too out of hand. The poor sap was not paid enough to deal with them.

Tiamat stood up from the bench she had been sitting at and straightened out any wrinkles on her light colored slacks and white satin blouse. she felt she looked the part of a curious civilian and just needed the glasses that would complement the look of a book nerd. She of course was anything but, the Sith was an enchantress, the Force within her grasp and her saber well placed on her body to keep it from being noticed. Any threats to her would be handled without hesitation. She looked over her shoulder at a tour group that was entering the area and wasn't going to pay mind to them until she needed to do a double take at one of its members.

The woman tapped her companion that was with her today, Amon (@Orbit), to get his attention as the zabrak kid had taken notice to some of the bronze statues. She knew she recognized him, his face was plastered all over the holonet after speaking for the Jedi regarding his mother. In a low whisper, "Crix Aran?" She caught Amon's gaze with her blue eyes and then back at the tour group, her lips pursed to contain her eagerness to cause some unease.

Amon had finally arrived back on Coruscant, a place he could say that had been both his mother and father in a dejected household. The last time he had been, it was hundreds of levels down below his feet and among the criminals that festered so easily underneath the highrises. He thought his return back would be him snagged and dragged away down below for grievances that he committed in his past or to burn the few places down that he held close to his heart. Of all places though, it was a museum and he hadn't expected that but his reasoning wasn't to view the exhibits.

Protesters had collected outside of the museum, chanting the new battle cry of, NO SITH! NO JEDI! It was almost music to the ears if it wasn't for the glass that blocked out the sound reasonable enough. The sentiment was growing all throughout the planet and the gathering collected at the museum was one of the larger ones to take place. Both Sith and Jedi have shown blatant aggression across the galaxy and it was time for the people's voices to be heard. Amon was happily there to guide them to their dream and really seize upon it.

He was inside the museum already and comfortably sat on the bench beside Tiamat with his gloved hands in his coat. His lightsabers were hidden away within his clothing but within easy reach, the possibility of him willingly separate from them never happening. Amon's dark grey eyes simply just flicked to each person that passed him, quickly giving them a scan before moving on. He masked his signature by his own free will, it a precaution he didn't mind making when he visited this planet in particular. His partner tapped him on the shoulder and he brought his gaze over to her calmly and then to where she indicated by the statues. Oh, it was him.

He leaned forward smoothly as he placed his elbows on his knees and gazed ahead, "I doubt he's alone. Let's ruffle the nest and see what it brings us." Amon stood up from the bench and walked in a relaxed manner as he slid himself easily in a tour group that went upstairs. When they reached the top, he split off and leaned against a railing that overlooked the first floor and acted like a regular civilian just enjoying the outlook.

The vantage point also provided him a line of sight to the protesters through the glass and with a nonchalant flick of his hand, one of them was pulled and made to appear to charge the lone security guard as they hit the glass. Out of reaction, the guard punched and pushed the man back. It lit the fuse that didn't require much and the crowd began to become rowdier, more protesters pushing and hitting the guard as he fought the brave ones that went for the door. Their anger was spilling over and Amon simply just resumed his exhibit viewing from above.

Crix was bored of the museum but he wasn’t dull to the Force and he could feel a cold shiver go down his spine from the tips of his horns. There was a palpable tension in the air that he didn't like, even more so when he could feel the Force edging toward the more heightened state that it sometimes got when things were about to go bad. He'd felt it before and feeling it again now was not something he enjoyed.

And here he had been hoping for a boring mission.

He didn’t know if it was just some of the old Aran Family paranoia but he liked to think that he would recognize that easily enough to dismiss it. This? This felt different and it wasn’t just because the Palace had that Old Man smell. No, there were more shouts and emotions from the crowd as one of them charged the glass. The man seemed as surprised by his sudden charge as anyone else actually, which was odd.

Stopping in front of a display for the old Imperial Guard, complete with Force Pikes and the red armor. His gaze flicked to the glass entrance and the agitated crowd outside. Things were heating up so Crix did what responsible people did - he called the police. He tapped at his com unit.

"Yes, hello, I would like to report a riot beginning at the Imperial Museum. It looks like they're beating the security guard at the door pretty bad. Yes, thank you I'll make sure to stay away from the doors."

He hung up but lingered around the display as the rest of the tour group stayed arrayed around the same area, all of them getting nervous and some of them doing the same as him and calling it in. Rangers or local police would arrive soon and order would be restored - the security guards weren't going to have a good time before then though.

Oorrl hadn’t wanted this assignment, far from it, Coruscant was one of the worst worlds in the Republic according to the Ithorian. Filled with suffering, corruption and the destruction of the natural world by artificial menace. That was one reason. Another? Oorrl didn’t feel the Temple was worth preserving. It was an icon of the Old Order, a corrupt Order, the Jedi who had failed as peacekeepers and become Senate serving Generals.

Then the Temple had become the Sith Emperor’s Palace and, now, it was a tacky Museum.

Glancing at his two companions, his Padawan Rah’la and the young Zabrak Crix. The Jedi Council had decided to send a reluctant Knight and two students. Oorrl could only assume the Order was running low on deployable members these days.

The Ithorian was dressed in blue dress robes, far more ornate than what he usually went for but it would serve for today. He certainly didn’t appear the Jedi he was. To help with the disguise he had even left his lightsaber behind aboard the Viridian Orchid. He didn’t want to use a weapon on this planet regardless especially with the recent Anti-Force User sentiment that seemed to be on the holo every day. As an alternative he had brought along a short Stun Glowrod which he had some practice with from past sparring when seeking to play with a larger range of weapons than the jedi classics. It had been either this or a stun blaster and the Jedi was more comfortable with melee weapons. He had also been told for self-defence purposes it would raise fewer eyebrows. Still he kept it under his robes having only shown it to security when he entered the Museum to keep everything above board.

“This building is a monument of decadence.” he said to his companions with a sigh. “Surely they could dismantle this monstrosity and build something more useful here?” he said softly with his translator turning the Ithorian’s stereo language into Galactic Basic.

Oorrl had joined the Order as soon as he left his homeworld as a young teenager and as such had never really attended a museum before unless one counted botany atrium visits across the Republic and Free World Alliance. Those were infinitely more enjoyable.

Hearing Crix’s input the Knight chuckled softly and shook his head.

Even from within the Museum Oorrl could hear the vague shouts of the protestors outside the building causing him to sigh softly. He could practically feel their frustration and misdirected anger. It was a sad sight.

Something… darker whispered at the edge of Oorrl’s instincts. A warning he didn’t understand but enough to put him on edge.

As he glanced at an old display which had a set of Inquisitor armour and had some vague text about the continued implementation of the Jedi Purge even after the initial execution of the Jedi towards the end of the Clone Wars. Frowning at the unpleasant reminder of a rather dark period in history Oorrl heard a crash and sounds of struggling coming from the front hall.

Glancing over and seeing what Crix was doing Oorrl moved away from the rest of the trou group before tapped his wrist-mounted comm and using a priority connection available to him as a Jedi Knight he sent a message to Coruscant Security Forces. “Hello. There appears to be a violent disturbance at the entrance of the Imperial Museum which I don’t believe the local security can handle. Could some members of Police force be dispatched to evaluate the situation?” he requested. After the confirmation he nodded slightly to himself. “Thank you. Goodbye.” he said terminating the connection. With multiple reports the Forces would have to investigate. He had too much experience with Policing Forces trying to discount reports.

Walking over to Rah'la the Knight sighed. “It seems the Coruscanti public is unhappy.” he noted calmly.

He was well into his second shift but the night had hit a lull. He was leaned back on his speeder bike watching the endless flow of traffic pass by him. He sighed, trying to decide where he could find something to get into but finding it hard to muster up the energy to move.

"All units be advised..." the voice sounded over his comm, causing him to perk up. The dispatch said that there had been a report of a riot forming at the old Imperial Museum not too far away. He had been by there earlier in the day but it had seemed pretty tame, and something the local security forces had well under control.

He sat up straight and adjusted his vest before picking up the radio receiver. "This is Lieutenant Nick Shaw with Sector Rangers, I am in the area and en route to assist," he said, already starting his speeder bike's engines. "Copy that Lt. Shaw." the voice replied as he sped out into the traffic lanes.

By the time he had arrived, the crowd had worked itself up. Several individuals were pressing up against the doors, while several others had taken a security officer to the ground and were pummeling him.

He rushed towards the officer on the ground. "Get back!" he said pushing his way through the crowd, finally reaching the bloodied man. He grabbed one of the rioters who was winding up for another kick and tossed him backward. "Get back!" he repeated again, clearing out space for the man to be dragged away,

Unlike Crix, who was obviously bored, Rah’la didn’t so swiftly dismiss the bronze statues but paused to read the placard before each while letting the tour group get further and further ahead. Her other companion, Master Fonwim was also unimpressed. She knew he had an aversion to the planet to begin with, and she could see his point about decadence. Even so, she wished she could have been here for no other reason than to just geek out on the displays. Teasing him a bit she asked, ”Oh, you mean like an arboretum”.

The sound of the guide drew her gaze, because she had started directing the attention of the group to the upper levels, and saw her heading toward the stairs amidst a lecture on Imperial protocol at the palace. Rah’la would have laughed when she heard the guide actually say, ”And we’re walking…”, as she began to lead the museum patrons up the staircase but refrained from drawing unwanted attention to herself.

Although she hadn’t noticed the tension in the pedestrians outside the museum, there was no dismissing the feeling of anger that began to intrude on her senses. Rah’la frowned wondering what was getting everyone so stirred up when she heard the chanting. What they expected the museum to do about it was the ridiculous part. Then she felt a severing of restraint, as if something had snapped, followed by a figure bolting toward one of the guards outside the glass windows. It was shocking, this sudden escalation of outrage and anger.

The hatred was senseless and she figured that these people were the sort that watched the Daily Bugle and that hate-monger J.J.Johnson. Vaguely hearing Crix calling for the authorities to put down a riot, she lay the blame for this sudden turmoil at the feet of Yellow Journalism. Rah’la stood with her back to the Inquisitor armour and shook her head saying softly, ”Looks like they won’t be happy staying on the outside”, she said suddenly feeling like there was too much glass around for her liking. What they needed to do was to get out of sight of all the nut jobs on the loose.

She was unsure of how long it was between the calls and the arrival of the first responders, but the authorities seemed to be taking the situation seriously and wasting no time. Already the guard at the door had been reached by an officer who was busy fending off the crowd. It was time to get moving and leave this mess to the professionals.

Looking around she noted what appeared to be a service lift and she directed Crix and Oorrl’s attention toward the elevator with a tip of her head. ”I’m not too happy about sticking around for the sideshow. How about we see what they keep in the storage rooms below?”

The tour guide was clearly nervous about what was happening outside as she continued to lead the group, trying her best to keep to as much normalcy as possible. Tiamat could feel the tension inside as well as outside as the protesters became rather violent, undoubtedly it would draw in the police or even a Ranger if they were lucky. But what the young Sith knew that many did not was the intention to purposely push those outside, the turmoil of emotion drew beckoned the dark side, and it would be contagious.

In the storm of the Force, Tiamat's presence fell into a calm, tranquil stillness, a skill she was better working on inspired by her former teacher. It was one skill that would better serve her as she still worked to contain her emotions that seemed to have their own agenda. As Amon took his spot overlooking the people in the museum and the tour that carried through, Tiamat nonchalantly followed the group like a guest who wanted listen in on what the tour guide had to say regarding some pieces. She noticed Crix (@Nefieslab) had wandered over to the Imperial armor and appeared to be speaking and so, Tiamat followed, stopping to look over the armor that she'd seen many times before in the history books of the Sith.

"Pretty intimidating..." she said with a concerned look on her face and glanced at Crix before looking back at the armor, letting him decide if she meant the armor or the protestors outside, "I wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything like this." Tiamat motioned to the imperial guard armor before looking back at Crix to gauge his reaction and if he would continue the conversation. He didn't look any older than herself and surprisingly normal for someone who associated with Jedi. There was a large bang against the window from someone hitting it and Tiamat looked over shoulder to the protesters outside. It appeared there was back up that arrived, a Ranger (@Raydo) nonetheless; however, it was many against one stunned security guard and a lowly cop.

Crix hummed a little bit at Rahla's comment and nodded a little bit. He was going to linger behind while they set off first so that it wasn't super obvious that they were splitting from the group together. Instead he lingered around the Imperial Guard uniform and was rewarded.

Well he would consider it a reward at least.

He smiled lazily at the young woman who had slid on up to the same display as him and struck up conversation. Chuckling a little bit, the smile slowly changed into a little half-smirk. It was the same kind of half-smirk his mother got at times and it was almost certainly trademarked as the Aran Flirt Smirk.

She'd kill him if she ever heard it referred to as that though.

"I don't know..."
he gave her a sly wink, "Think you might look good in red."

When she turned to look at the window he moved away from the display, heading over to the elevator that Rahla and Oorrl should have secured by then. Flirting with an attractive woman his own age was fun but he was apparently here to do a job, odd as that felt.

Amon watched everything unfold from his vantage point. With the little tug, tensions were easily spilling over outside as protesters took physical actions against the guards. The Jedi didn't intervene, instead, they called for assistance with the Rangers in order to calm the situation down. There didn't appear that many of them had been summoned to help deal with the unruly crowd but that wasn't one of his concerns. Tiamat pressed on toward the Jedi but he remained where he was, continuing his somewhat relaxed posture even though his gaze fixated on the glass like everyone else that heard the noise.

But he eventually pushed off from the railing where he was and slipped his gloved hands into the pockets of his jacket once more. Like the rest of the tourists inside, he just continued on with what he was doing to pass some semblance of normalcy while the protesters were dealt with outside. Amon found himself a new position to station himself at as he once more leaned against a railing. It provided a new outlook that gave a direct line of sight to Crix, Tiamat, and the service elevator.

The Sith and the Jedi shared words for a moment before Tiamat looked away towards the window. Crix used it as his moment to slip away and Amon tracked him nonchalantly with his eyes and his arrival at the service elevator. Well, it seemed the exhibits no longer interested the young man and his friends. They were going to take the elevator and there wasn't much to do about that and he checked which floor they went to on the small screen above it. So, he simply backed up from his position and made his way to the nearby stairs as he returned to the main floor. Amon would wait for the doors to the elevator to fully close before he finally approached her, "They went to the lower levels. We either follow or leave now."

He then directed his gaze to the window with a quick peek towards the protesters before returning it back to one of the exhibits.

Oorrl smiled slightly at the young Nautolan and nodded slightly before holding up a finger as he was wont to do when beginning his usual dry mini-lectures.

“Generally correct although technically an arboretum is a type of botanical collection containing a collection of trees and woody plants usually at least partially used for scientific study. I prefer the more generalised botanical gardens.” he said before adding more quietly, mostly to himself “I like flowers.”

Clearing his throats the Jedi Knight looked around and noticing his Padawans interest he shook his head. “I didn’t realise you had such an interest in historical artifacts. We can visit a few museums whilst we travel. My Master Arriyyshk brought me on tours for such historical lectures. Of course that was probably just because he had lived through most of that history.” he added with a shake of his head.

The Wookie had been centuries old when the bolter fire took his life. Oorrl still missed the old man, he’d been like a second father to him.

Refocusing his mind, after a silent chiding that he was a Jedi and didn’t have time for daydreaming, the Ithiorian glanced around before following Rahla’s gesture.

“Very good. Lets go, keep an eye out.” he stated simply before moving towards the Elevator, stopping at various exhibits along the way so as to not stand out amongst the crowd of visitors.

As he approached the service lift he stood next to the young guard nearby and made a small subtle gesture with one hand before stating. “The guard at the door is in trouble, you should go see if he needs help.”

The guard’s eyes unfocused for the shortest split second before using his com to say he was reinforcing the entrance and whomever was at the other side acknowledged the request as he ran off. It had taken only the most meagre influence as he had already been inclined to do so, only held back by his uncertainty if he was allowed to.

Looking around he saw that no one was looking his way, reaching out with his senses he felt nothing but calm in the immediate area, and pressed the button on the service lift to call it.

As it arrived he stepped in confidently looking as if he belonged. He knew his Padawan would join him quickly; he just hoped young Aran didn’t take too long.

As he waited he hit the button for the lower levels and would hold the doors for a short period of time for the Padawans.

Crix waved slightly to have Oorrl and Rahla hold the lift before he slid into it as the doors were beginning to close. He would keep an eye on the redhead as the doors closed - he was honestly a little regretful that he'd had to run off like that. She seemed like she had been trying to make conversation because, well, she was lonely. It was nothing, really, just a feeling he had felt in his gut and he wasn't even sure if it was true or just wishful thinking.

Still, he made a mental note to see if he couldn't meet up with her again on their way out, maybe see if she was interested in getting some coffee. In the mean time he pulled out his multi-tool and started on the lift controls, adjusting the speed of the lift to make their movement noticeably quicker so they were down dozens of levels in seconds, with the added benefit of deliberately short-circuiting the sensor that read what level they were at.

Didn't want security to come poking around after them.

With that done, they would reach their destination after only a minute or two at most. Crix turned to the Jedi Knight and grinned as he stepped out onto the lower level.

"So what's the bet we find something really freaky down here?"
he asked with a grin, "My bet is Palpatine's 'playroom' or something. Sith have sex dungeons, right?"
