YAVIN TEMPLE SECURITY FORCE
  • Background: After the tragedy of Ajan Kloss where the Sith overran the Jedi's defenses and laid waste to their Temple, numerous Jedi took it upon themselves to ensure such an event never occurred on their remaining Temple on Yavin. Spearheaded by Drow Venn, the Jedi searched the galaxy for leaders, volunteers, and equipment to form a security force that could provide an additional layer of protection for the Jedi even when their best fighters were away.
  • Assets:
  • Uses: To serve as an added layer of defense for any attacking players to get through, should they choose to attack Yavin IV. Additionally, any Jedi character may use the members as NPCs to train with or talk to, provided the thread takes place on Yavin IV. During an average day, the Temple Security Force patrols the perimeter of the Temple on Yavin, sends occasional scouting parties into the surrounding jungle to hunt for food or to expand their patrol, and keeps their skills sharp by drilling.
  • Members
    • Tric Clintegala (NPC) - An old Abednedo mercenary of Drow Venn, Tric was recruitedby the Jedi to serve as the captain for the Security Force. All members of the Force report to him and he is in charge of organizing them and preparing the Temple for defenses.
      • Assets: A large collection of blasters and the sharpshooting skills to properly utilize them. His long military/mercenary background makes him a tough foe for even Sith to defeat.
      • Weaknesses: His old age makes him slower than he once was and his reaction time has slowed considerably.
    • Gamorgon (NPC) - Elderly Gammorrean leader of the Grojuk clan who serves as a secondary leadership figure below Tric Clintegala

CIN DRALLIG'S HOLOCRON

HISTORY
Cin Drallig was a male Human who served as a legendary Jedi Master during the Clone Wars. He was known as one of the Order's premier duelists at the time, having mastered all seven forms of lightsaber combat that existed at the time. In the later years of his life, Drallig served as the Battlemaster, Chief of Security, and head of the Temple Guard all at once for the Jedi Order, as well as training many of the Order's master swordspeople at the time including legends like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

However, the latter would end up becoming his downfall. During Operation Knightfall, Anakin Skywalker, now christened Darth Vader led the 501st Legion into the heart of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and slaughtered his fellow Jedi. Cin Drallig, to his credit, stood tall and tried to stop the destruction by engaging Vader head on. However, he was tragically slain by the powerful Sith Lord; the apprentice having become the master.

However, his legacy did not end with his death. He had recorded a holocron before the events of Order 66 to instruct future Jedi long after he became one with the Force. This Holocron, whether through design or accident, survived the attack on the Temple and eventually fell into the hands of a private collector. This collector eventually put the valuable Jedi artifact up for auction and it became the property of one Rin Praji, a wealthy member of an illustrious family on Kaikelius, who grew up enraptured by tales of the Jedi.

THE HOLOCRON

Appearance wise, the holocron mostly looks like others of its make during that time period. It's shaped like a cube and glows whenever someone Force-Sensitive touches it. A few scorch marks and scuffs are indicators of both its age and the horrors that it survived through.

There are ten chapters in this holocron, each one containing valuable information that Drallig left behind to continue his legacy.. The first seven of chapters are of Drallig imparting detailed instructions and lessons in each of the seven forms of lightsaber combat. In addition to providing the basic framework and exercises necessary for a lightsaber owner to become proficient in these arts, Drallig gives lessons on how to beat each form. The other three chapters are Drallig giving his thoughts on each of the positions he held as Battlemaster, head of the Temple Guard, and Chief of Security respectively. He tells tales of each of the jobs, how he thinks he could have improved the three positions, and the best thing future Jedi in that role can do to prepare for them.

All told, it's a summation of who Drallig was in the Order and the massive developments he made both towards lightsaber combat and towards improving the Temple's security functions.

INTENT
There are two main intentions with the creation of this lore object. The first is to spawn a series of missions that justify the Jedi Order can partake in to reclaim this lost artifact. The second is to give Drow Venn a series of lessons to better prepare him for taking up Drallig's role as Chief of Security that he is seeking to obtain after formerly founding a civillian Temple Security Force. Additionally, it can be used by future Jedi to gain better understanding and expertise in lightsaber combat.

YAVIN TEMPLE SECURITY FORCE

History
After the tragedy of Ajan Kloss where the Sith overran the Jedi's defenses and laid waste to their Temple, numerous Jedi took it upon themselves to ensure such an event never occurred on their remaining Temple on Yavin. Spearheaded by Drow Venn, the Jedi searched the galaxy for leaders, volunteers, and equipment to form a security force that could provide an additional layer of protection for the Jedi even when their best fighters were away.

First things first were to obtain a captain to train and drill the new recruits of this Force. Drow recommended an old mercenary friend of his, one Tric Clintegala, as a suitable candidate for this role. The Temple agreed and Drow went to the planet Corellia with other Jedi to find his old friend. Clintegala agreed on the condition that the Jedi help him finish one last mercenary job - a nice little retirement bonus to supplement the measly income that the Jedi would be paying him for his services. The Jedi did so and helped bring a local street gang to justice.

Next, Drow and the Jedi traveled to the planet Gamorr, where they sought the services of the Grojuk Clan. Unlike many other Gamorrean clans, the Grojuk clan valued honor and nobility and would pledge themselves to those they thought embodied the ideas of strength and justice. To prove to them that the Jedi were those champions of honor, the Jedi agreed to fight the clan's best fighters in a hand-to-hand contest to prove their worth. They were able to subdue the Gamorreans with the help of the Matukai and the Gamorreans pledged themselves to the Order and declared themselves blood brothers with the Matukai. The clan relocated to Yavin IV where they fell under the command of Clintegala.

Now that this fledgling Temple Security Force had both recruits and a captain, the Jedi could have rested and worked from there. And Drow planned on doing just that if he hadn't heard rumors that a mostly functioning AT-DT walker had been found abandoned on Raxus Prime. Taking another Jedi task force there, they were able to sift through the junk and find it. However, a local clan of Junkers had found it first and a stand-off occurred that was only ended when the Jedi promised the Junkers gainful employment at the Temple in exchange for the walker. The Junkers agreed and became engineers of the Temple, helping put the walker back into fighting shape.

Description
The Yavin Temple Security Force is in charge of patrolling the area in and around the Jedi Temple on Yavin IV. Made up of non Force Sensitive members, it provides a stable backbone of defense for the Temple when the Order's strongest fighters are away on missions. They are ready to be mobilized at a moment's notice and Jedi staying at the Temple have learned to welcome the sight of Gamorreans patrolling the grounds and the Grojuk Clan and the Jedi have even swapped combat training with each other. A Grojuk youngling was even found to be Force Sensitive and was happily given up by the clan to be trained by the Jedi. The clan is mostly self-sustaining as the Council has given them permission to hunt the wild animals of Yavin IV, both to keep their skills sharp and to provide themselves with food. All told, the Security Force has become a ubiquitous sight at the Temple and although a major attack has not occurred, they are ready for when it does.

Training and Equipment
The Grojuk clan was already familiar with the ways of war, although they have mostly relied on melee weapons and overwhelming numbers to win the day. Under Tric Clintegala's instruction, they have learned to form ranks fight strategically. He has also been training them in marksmanship and using weapons other than fisticuffs, melee tools, and vibroblades although there is a shortage of firearms at the Order for now. They have also been regularly been drilling with the AT-DT and have built tactics around using that to supplement their forces. For now, they have no uniforms and only have the equipment they brought with them but Drow hopes to change that in the future when the time allows.

Current Structure and Active Members
  • 1 AT-DT Walker
  • The entire Grojuk Gammorrean Clan
  • A team of 5 armed Junker engineers to maintain the walker and other weapons.

Intent
To serve as an added layer of defense for any attacking players to get through, should they choose to attack Yavin IV.
